I have seen Roger many times live and behind the stages. Brilliant as ever, if you hear his voice, you know not Anotherone can sing like Chappo. His band also make a Wonderful Performance too. Many thanks for so many great concerts with you and the shortlist Chappo Chapeau my friend.
'The captain' ..he was known as in Brentford ..west London ..a lifetime ago . He would join Steve Simson's 'Chuck Farley' often on a thursday night...brilliant and delighted to see this ..
@@MrTele57 Roger is still my working class hero of all time. It's always great to meet him personly. When he start singing you know direct it can't be anotherone. His voice is pointing our heart in a very fine way. The shortlist musicians all also a special class. Awesome.
We were so very fortunate to see Roger in the Tommy Opera in 1973 at the Rainbow (ex Astoria) where he simply stole the show shame Stevie Simson wasn't with him on the prog
Missed this. Never even knew he was in Newcastle at the time. Just after King Crimson oldies band "21st Century Schizoid Band" had played at same theatre. Tyne Theatre on Westgate Rd I believe
This arrangement takes a lot of the Band's ideas for the song and gives it further balls. Also brings soprano sax back from the ill-repute of Kenny G. Besides the performances, this really is a fine recording.
@@PeterSpaeter96 Delusional!! Far, far, far inferior to the Dylan versions, with Knopfler or Mick Taylor. Reflected in number of views and comments of many music lovers in this world.
@@PeterSpaeter96 I have liked Family for decades, and although this version of Chapman is not all that bad, it simply cannot stand up to that of Mr. Dylan, both the 'electric' and the 'acoustic' versions. They are legendary, this version is almost unknown which, I know, is not always a measuring stick for quality. Greetings.
One man's meat is another man's poison. People do songs of other MUSOS for one reason. They love the song. And do it with all respect.ike it or leave it.. No-one can sing those blues, like Roger Chapman......superb !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brilliant performance of one of my favorite Bob Dylan tunes ❤❤❤

Best version ever!
i loved family, an this is a great version
Excellent cover version here. Committed, passionate and honourable. What more could you ask for?
This theme, I love... great!
Superb
Ganz großes Kino!
There is no-one like Chappo :-)

yes, great stuff.
Der Beste.
Роджер Чэпмен убийственный вокалист. Таких как он больше не будет. Он Бог своего стиля. Я его считаю великим вокалистом в ритм'блюзе !!!
Last saw him play at "The Night Owl " Newark Street Leicester about 1969 at an all nighter
Viva Chappo!
Simply The Best
The greatest!
Bester Sänger aller Zeiten !

"King Crimson oldies band"? Like they're on the Neil Sedaka or Freddie and the Dreamers category? :D
love it
Quality of Chappo - and listen to Henry Spinetti's drumwork.
Henri Spinetti is the best Drummer for the Shortlist

@Chappomusic one of the best 👌🏻
👏👏👏👏🇧🇷🇧🇷
Joe Cocker should hv a go at this song..
Yeah it would be dead on soulful
He looks like Alex Jones
I take it that this is an acquired taste. Or something.
See the band, dylan, mick taylor version before liking. This not haunting !
I've seen them. With all due respect to Mick Taylor - Chappo's version is better by far, in terms of singing and arrangement.
Mick Taylor, sorry, cannot sing the blues like Chappo.

@@johansterk354 Of course you're perfectly free to think so. But the mere 'number of views and comments' does not convince me at all.

An unparalleled voice.
A pity he worked with Alan Parson and Mike Oldfield. He didn't fit in at all!
I think he should leave the song to Dylan. Period.
This guy should go to jail for this.
throw away the “key”

The Byrds too? They did quite a few Dylans.
I'm sure of one thing: Chapman performed this better than wrecked Dylan could.
