People kept saying on previous dives how they really wanted to see a nautilus so it was like a slow build up to this moment. Was worried we wasn't going to see one but then this happened. 50/10 was incredible. Still curious about that anchor and cylinders from later in the dive.
Amazing! I think I was almost as excited to see the notification for this video as the scientists were to see those nautiloids, they're really wonderful little creatures.
A live nautilus (or 4) on Nautilus Live...how awesome! I can't believe it took 15 years, but the excitement of the scientists was worth the wait! Congratulations!
I have a necklace like that that I picked up secondhand. I love that sucker but ever since I found out that nautiluses are endangered because people have overfished them for their pretty shells, I haven't been able to wear it in good conscience. If the population ever rebounds to safe levels I'll wear it again. Although it turns out shelled cephalopods used to be super-duper common millions of years ago, so I've been able to make a pretty easy switch over to fossil jewelry instead.

Oh my gosh this is just awesome! Love these guys. I collect ammonites and other fossils, and to me the nautilus are like living dinosaurs! Plus they're just so cool and unusual animals. Thank you, EV Nautilus!

Surprised it took this long for nautilus to find an actual nautilus lmfao
