That's the risk you run into when you use very simple assets - the first such game may have its own style, but it's so easily replicated (indeed, without conscious thought) it's not going to last. And of course, it doesn't apply only to assets - if your new game has extremely simple mechanics (PUBG anyone?), don't be surprised when there's 10 similar games in a week, no matter how innovative they were :P
More generally, it's the result of the perspective used. This is a pretty cheap perspective that looks good enough, has a "3D effect", while requiring very little effort to code and add more assets. Note how tiles don't ever overlap, just like in old-school top-down pseudo-3D games like Dynablaster - that makes the code (and design) so much simpler. You just have a tile grid, and draw within the grid. Collision checks are against the grid - extremely simple. The entities are just splashed on top of the rendered terrain without requiring any depth handling (note how there's no occlusion). Yes, it's certainly recognizably Rimworld-like - for better and worse. That happens all the time, and I hoped we were already kind of over this "Hey, this looks exactly like X!" Games are a composite medium. They're more than the sum of its parts. Even just copying all the parts from different games and putting them together would be worthwhile - after all, how many times have you heard (or said) something like "Man, imagine if you took Rimworld and combined it with Terraria - that would be such a good game!" :)
You could easily say that Rimworld ripped its graphics off from Prison Architect. As long as its a fun game I don't mind. If you play rimworld long enough then look at this game, you see all kinds of differences. tree's, grass, ect
I wish more of the game was as good as the first few minutes. I've played for a few hours and I've killed a goblin king, a purple monster, captured many animals, set up a berry and apple farm, gotten to floor 14 and made guns. I'm really hoping when this game progresses there's more story to discover. And I'm hoping there's stuff to discover in the caves.
We got a slow gamer here who makes begener mistakes all the time i mean do you know mean of the wrold wait and all enemy have infitent amno it like that formost games
There are actually a number of survival games where enemies DON'T have unlimited ammo. But they're few and far between- which is a shame because that would really make things a lot more interesting.
+Wanderbots Actually, that's really more of an AI limitation. The problem with limited ammunition is that you can usually find some simple tactic that makes the AI spend all its ammunition without good effect and exploit it like crazy. It's pretty hard to design game mechanics and AI good enough to make for good gameplay without such exploits. If enemies _drop_ ammunition, and you rely on the drops, this can also make the game slow down to a crawl. That's the reason AI in Warcraft doesn't deplete gold mines nearly as much as the player - that allows you to conquer the base, establish your own mining and still have an almost full gold mine to keep the pressure, and also limits the efficiency of turtling (the balance makes it pretty unlikely the enemy runs out of gold before you do, despite how stupid the AI is). I shouldn't have to say this, but... AI is hard. Seriously hard. Even harder is making good AI that also makes for great gameplay.
Just being honest when saying this, If this is what the game actually has to offer then then this honestly.. Is not worth 12 usd in my opinion. e.e Who knows, maybe on a sale- but from what i'm seeing..? Jesus christ you're better off playing Rim.
Jesus Christ how many times do you have to die before you realize you don't belong underground...
Rock textures taken directly from rimworld, music style taken directly from rimworld, innocence stripped from me by rimworld
Music was directly lifted from Dungeon of the Endless.

As much as rimworld took assets directly from prison architect in his time ;p
It took some sound effects from Minecraft too
That kind of wall is super generic and has been used in games since 1970s. Hardly unique to Rimworld.
Combined with the character visuals, UI elements, and ground textures though, it's pretty obviously pulled from rimword.

Rimworld has a completely different gameplay. Come on, did you even watch the video, or did you just look at the screenshots? :D
