I really hate this for the nurses in the UK I am a RN in the USA and the salary they pay you all angers me. I truly believe it's an underpaid profession because it's female dominated! Please come to the US if you are able and get this money! We are short staffed and in need of RNs daily and you will get what your degree is worth. I Started off at $35/hr as a new graduate RN now at $44/hr with 1.5 years of experience under my belt. I work night shift so that is with shift differential. You can also be a travel nurse here and make at least $2000/week with a low paying contract. If you take a crisis contract they're paying $100-$120/hr.
We don't get paid enough! I was contemplating downbanding, I've been qualified a year. If I had to do it all again, I wouldn't bother, the debt isn't worth it either.
That's very low pay. I'm in America and I'm a CNA and make 17 dollars in a hospital. The new nurses in my state make around 25 or 26 dollars and the cost of living here is ridiculous. I'm doing my prerequisites for nursing school and always wanted to live in the UK when I get more experience but I will only visit. My name is also Belinda but with just one L.
Nurses do not get paid enough. Most of us have to work overtime to make ends meet. We need effective leaders/action to occur before we can see any change in our Salaries.
Please can you share your progress and journey to migrating to the US as a UK trained nurse . That’s exactly what I want to do I’m in year 1 adult nursing presently
Hi Belinda, a question that doesn’t have anything to do with nursing. Where do you get music for your RUclips videos? I am looking for free music that is not from RUclips library to use on my channel. Thanks!! ❤❤
@@nurse_bellinda OMG this is good! Atleast one has +-5 months to enjoy the salary without tax! I've learned something new tonight. Much love from Namibia 🇳🇦❤💕 see you soon in the UK 🇬🇧
Am a healthcare assistant looking to do uni its scary financially, HCA do not get paid enough either, especially with 20bays of 6 patients short staff having to cover other roles and bays to cover the short staff nevermind full patient care and one to one we have to conduct on our ward we get paid £9per hr just under £1300 a month. My pressure is for uni to find work or means to provide an income a single 21 year old.
The amount nurses get paid in UK is mind blowing. It’s extremely low. As a registered nurse in California, USA we get paid about $7000 a month before taxes.
@@glory7886 yearly after taxes, before taxes it’s 84k. That’s about 5k/month. But depending where you live in Cali you can make more. I have friends who make $100,000/year pretaxes. If you are a travel nurse you can make double that. But outside of Cali the rates for registered nurses are lower.
How’s coping with the access course and full time work in A&E? Is getting a top grade on the course and working manageable? I’m strongly considering it.
I didn’t stay off working full time. I didn’t work at all. However, as the workload at college decreased I decided to go back to full time employment. It’s hard however, doable
Hi Belinda! I’ve got a question for you. As UCAS application closes in October for medical schools and most access course start in September, how do I get predicted grades for my application to Uni? Barely starting college a month before the application closes?
So you can still apply for medicine and like you said you will be getting predicted grades. So you will be basically be predicted what you supposed to get. When completing the application you would “pending” so by the time you are invited for an interview most modules you have done already and they can see where you at and whether you will Possibly make the predicted required grades or not
I did a shift in casaulty never again, they didn't tell me where things are or which button for blood pressure cuff to inflate our equipment was completely different to theirs. I even did two one to one in the department 4 hours both confused individuals very unsafe plus i haven't seen another HCA on that shift to take me off for break. Staff were nice but omg it's very disorganised.
We don’t use GPA in the uk it all depends on your transcript. And how your qualification will be interpreted to meet uk medical school entrance requirements
Can a uk trained nurse work in usa? Because in uk nursing degree is of 3 years whereas in usa it is 4 years. If you can share any information it will be appreciated. Thanks
You can do overtime standard hours for full time employment is 37.5 hours however others do 36 hours so they don’t have a makeup shift every 2 months or you can do 24 hours which is part time
Ahh okay you will need to either have a diploma or degree to work as a nurse in the uk. I believe they will be able to take you on as a healthcare assistant. So you can apply via the uk healthcare sponsor visa
If I start it here in the uk then I have to complete it here in the uk I won’t be able to transfer as a medical student in the uk to the USA. If I move to USA i will be moving as a nurse

Definitely the pay is not worth it. I am lucky I don’t have any student debt
Do u think private instead of gp is better pay? I start my my nursing degree at uni in sept😭
@@nurse_bellinda wow, nurse Belinda. Can you tell us more about how to avoid debt like you did plz?
I came as an international student so I had to pay my fees myself was not entitled to student finance
Private most probably however there is not much difference

How come income tax is not deducted from your payslip?
You have to reach a certain threshold before tax gets deducted
