His backstory is the saddest of any character in this entire series in my opinion. The villagers hated Naruto but they were not trying to kill him, the hokage was not trying to kill him. Th Hokage was not his own dad. So Gaara knows the pain of isolation like Naruto does, but he also knows the pain of loss like Sasuke does. He also knows the pain of betrayal as well.
Naruto and Gaara are similar because they were both shunned by the people in respective villages. The only difference is naruto has iruka sensei to guide but gaara's trusted friend and uncle betrayed him by the orders of the 4th kazekage gaara's father because he's dangerous in this world and children are scared of him of what he is capable of.

Gaara tattoed "love" on his forehead to remind himself to just love himself and not others. I always almost cry when he says, that he doesnt bleed but he still feels always pain in his heart and doesnt understand why it hurts so much :,(
I just realized when Sasuke used the fireball jutsu Gaara blocked but then opened his hand before the jutsu was even done! Sasuke's Fireball was weak as heck back then!

As a child ,Gaara had no family and friends.
He was a weapon since he was born. And he never tastes what “love” is.
