This episode is so stupid, I love it. I think the reason why so many adore it is not only the absurdity of the plot itself, but the payoff and the subplot of the three no-names is just as ridiculous. What also helps is we just had a handful of dramatic episodes dealing with the wellness of a huge fan favorite (Rock Lee) revolving around a decision of either giving up his goals or potentially dying. The fans needed a more relaxed episode like this. What immediately comes to mind is a d&d session. After several sessions of so much drama-driven story, the DM decides to take the crew onto just some random one shot adventure.
