Don't feel bad about making kitchen mistakes! We all do that from time to time. I made cornbread a few days ago and after it started baking and looked like a brick I realized I forgot to add the baking powder. DUH! Good thing I made soup beans, we just broke it up and dropped it in the bean juice and it was edible. The part we didn't eat the chickens enjoyed!🤣

Love the home made extracts. They make good gifts. I also like to make flavored sugar to go along with them. Just cut up a vanilla bean and add to some sugar (usually 1 bean/2 cups sugar). Let it sit for a couple of months, shaking the jar every couple of days. Same with lemon or orange peels. Use as part or all of sugar called for in cookies/cakes or sprinkle on top of sugar cookies. 😋

As empty nesters I love making pancakes, biscuits and yeast roll dough balls to freeze. One recipe makes enough for several meals without having to halve or further reduce a recipe.

Having those homemade brownie mixes on hand is such a money saver for you, plus you know what’s in them. It’s such a great idea! I like to make extra waffles and freeze them as I like them better than pancakes. I’ve never purchased those patty papers before. I will definitely check that out at Dollar Tree. I’ve been tearing off waxed paper and cutting it into squares. Parchment paper would be a lot better.
I’ve made those 2-ingredient biscuits and according to my younger daughter, they are really good. 😊
I am so impressed at how organized you are. As a kid growing up, did you observe your mom keeping her kitchen and pantry like you do? I was just wondering if someone in your past influenced you before you became a wife and mother.
Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge with your viewers…..😊

I made homemade vanilla awhile back but I really wanted to make lemon and haven’t. Never heard of cinnamon but I have the sticks so it sounds wonderful. What do you plan on using it in? I make jars for scones, applesauce bread, corn bread, chocolate chip muffins and more but no brownies. I just made a new batch of homemade bisquik but my homemade pancake mix is getting low. It is on my list to make tomorrow with some homemade bagels and biscuits.
