Please advise. If we go over the speed limit due to sudden change in road surface, will it be a fault ? Suppose the speedometer goes 1 or 2 up then limit ? Secondly how close we have to drive on national speed limit? Its must match the speed limit ? Or can we drive less then national speed limit, for example 29 on 30. Or 39 on 40 It will be acceptable on clear roads ahead? Kind regards
Good video, you mentioned that the satnav has the volume turned down during the part 2 test? So you would have to rely on keeping a sharp eye on the satnav, i've got my part 2 tomorrow and I prefer to hear the voice directions, or have i got that wrong?
Thanks for the feedback, can you timestamp to when i said the sat nav volume is turned down? I don't see why I would have said that, so a bit confused. The volume is not turned down.

Thank you for your videos, it’s been very helpful.I am training to Take ADI Theory test hopefully after lockdown, followed by driving test. My question is ,is there a limit on how many theory and ADI driving test I can take ? Just in case I fail my first..
You have unlimited amounts of the ADI part 1 (Theory), but only allowed 3 attempts at part 2 (Driving) & part 3 (Instructing) - assuming you can do 3 attempts at both within 2 years from passing part 1.
Just randomly, when doing your part 1 have you heard of ROTE and GESTALT? Apparently it is not in any of the books, as out of date info, but the DVSA very frequently like to ask about it on the part 1. More info on the below link (sorry was unable to copy and paste the info, hence link) imgur.com/a/TFid6Bd
@@UKDrivingTest thank you for coming back to me. I live in East London near to city airport, where would my second part Driving test will take? Is it at the local test centres ? where would I meet the examiner?
@@HH-bi7yk www.gov.uk/find-driving-test-centre enter your postcode on this page, select part 2 test, and it will then show you local test centre to you (Not all driving test centres do part 2 tests)
Thank you so much for your video really helpful. I passed my Adi part 1 now I'm preparing for part 2. I heard that I can't use cruise control unless the examiner ask me to use. Is that true? Please let me know thank you. Ram
No that is not true, you can use cruise control, speed limiter, reversing sensors, reversing camera, lane departure waring, any technology the car has providing your use it is a safe manner.
It is always best to look at OFFICIAL resources on things like this, as there are many misconceptions in the industry. For example check out the ADI1 (Driving examiner guidelines for ADI tests, including part 2), look at page 23/24 point 2.37 Condition of vehicle - part 2 test. Gives clarification on the use of technology on modern cars. assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/803817/carrying-out-driving-instructor-tests-and-checks-adi1.pdf
Yes definitely. It is a feature designed to improve road safety, so 100% encouraged by the DVSA. You can use any technology on the car, including, but not limited to: - Cruise control - Speed limiter - Adjusting mirrors to help with reversing - Reversing cameras - Reversing sensors - Etc. Of course when using any technology you MUST NOT fully rely on it, it is just an aid, so don't assume cruise control / speed limit will keep you at the correct speed down a hill, don't stare in your reversing camera or rely only on sensors, you MUST still do all round observations (6 point check). The only technology you CAN'T use if self driving/self parking features, as of course you need to demonstrate you can drive yourself, not letting a computer do it for you! The above shows the DVSA test are not as black and white as people always think. If it is safe, if it is legal then generally it is ok on test.
@@bakerclaire5722 no worries, good luck with your training. I recall seeing you followed me on Thrive. Any questions please feel free to comment on my videos.
Wouldn’t you argue that if you’re staying under 60 the majority of the time (of which I’m sure you’ll sight road conditions hazards etc) then surely same should be said for the 30 too; a significant number of hazards through town there such as drives, parked cars etc. Personally I’d seek to maximise the National more; but that’s a judgement. I feel that if people are nervous of grip and braking ability in a National, then they should have the same reservations in a 30, and yet they don’t. Amazing how much the camera foreshortens distance there, often making look like your gap to cars was less than 2 seconds. But wasn’t. Nice. But if the roads were wet (not raining now) I’d suggest that this is a worthy mention as one should consider something between the 2 and 4 second gap. And that leads us to 15:11, if you had the 3 second gap then you wouldn’t end up with 1 second as the car in front seems to dither - apologies if that seems firm, but I’ll tend to give everyone space until it’s evident they’re getting on with progress, you find out in the first few seconds of following.
Going 30mph and going 60mph are really quite different, stopping distances just to start with. You also want the car to remain stable and minimise and weight transfer when going around bends, as this can put excessive wear on tyres resulting in increased risk of the tyres blowing or losing grip should they hit a slippery patch. You also need to be at a speed where you can "stop in the distance you see to be clear", so should someone be around the corner, such as a cyclist or broken down vehicle, you are able to stop in a controlled way, giving time for any following vehicles to respond. Of course if you are on a racing track you have marshals monitoring the track to make sure there are not hazards around the corners and the road surface remains perfect, plus the vehicles will get check before going out on the track, for a 'daily driver' car it would be lucky to get checked once a month.
The phrase "the camera never lies" is never really true when filming in car, distances often look different to what they are in real life, cameras just can't get good depth perception like with the naked eye.
