    my personally theory is that the pineapple was his real dad. Tom's hair is pineapple shaped, making me think that once Tom was born Walter noticed he looked nothing like the baby, and left the family. The bowling ball found Pete and decided Tom should be with his real father. Do I think the Eddsworld team had any of this in mind? Absolutely not. I 100% know this isn't the real reason, but it's more like a headcanon or something to me :)

      I Think Walter is The Real parent. Since In Beaster Bunny, Tom says “ You’ve found my real parents! “ And Fun Dead was after the events of I ((forgot the name but the swimming episode with the watermelon :skull: :skull:)) Personally, Walter Could have left sure, but in reality, Pete is the StepFather, Thats why Tom had said “ *Father!* I will avenge you! “

      Honestly, I myself am going to consider this idea:
      Generalization:
      Tom's OG Dad (William the Watermelon) genetically birthed Tom with The Bowling Ball Mother. However yes, William was a terrible drunkard, and eventually just left the family due to his terrible alcoholic problems, most likely having been kicked out by the Bowling Ball. Over the years, The Bowling Ball married The Pineapple (Pete the Pineapple) and Pete became said father. Just not genetically.
      Oh and yes, I know the official name of said Watermelon is Walter, but I just think William is a better name in general grammar. Personal opinions. Oh and yeah,
      Matt gave guns to the bears again. Shameful.

    My assumption is that the initial joke was "haha Tom's dad is a fruit with glasses." But when making Fun Dead, they decided to flesh the joke out further, making the fruit a pineapple to match the joke about Tom's character design.

    The watermelon was a terrible drunk and walked out on his family. pineapple came in picked up the pieces and raised Tom like he was his own son. Tom doesn't consider watermelon his true father and has no contact with him. Bowling ball mother currently lives on her own but occasionally visits her son

      This is my theory:
      The watermelon is the original father/godfather. If the watermelon was the father maybe he could have fell and splatted or had a heart attack. After that, the pineapple would have had to take care of Tom after watermelons death
      2nd Henry in which the watermelon is The Godfather: pineapple was sick or injured so he couldn’t meet Tom at the bed. So then watermelon, The Godfather, wanted to support bowling ball since pineapple isn’t there. Then pineapple dies by the hands of the bears and watermelon has to take care of Tom now, of course we don’t see that part.

    i honestly feel like his parents were actually humans but he couldn't bear the trauma of seeing his father's head explode so he imagines his mother as a bowling ball and his father as different fruits. it's like a response from the brain towards trauma, sometimes they don't remember at all, sometimes they remember it very vividly.

  • @C_Corpze

    7:22 I actually spotted an easteregg in this Eddisode. For those who haven't, if you look at the buttons on the panel you can see 3 buttons that have the color of Edd, Matt and Tom's hoodies along with their first letters of their name.
    Edit: As for the theories, my personal theory is just that fruits are both meant as a joke and at the same time also Tom's way of imagining real people so it hurts him less to think about.
    Inanimate objects wouldn't give birth to an human being and despite EddsWorld sometimes being very silly and breaking the law of physics or such (that's just how cartoons work), it does have some logic to support this.

  • @em0x516
    @em0x516 3 года назад +24

    about the theory, it's just edited reality because of traumatic moments... I can actually tell you it can't be disproven. Most people will think that it can't be because Matt's flashback also features pineapple dad, which means his parents were actual objects but Matt had a flashback about losing his memory in the end and Tom maybe told him that it was true or something like that. I don't know maybe there was a war between objects and humans and humans won and that's why no more objects are alive or something.

    In Eddsworld - The Beaster Bunny was a recent eddisode, that in the beginning Edd had Tom in a blind fold to show him a surprise which was them going to an Annual Easter egg hunt to which Tom had thought that Edd found his real parents. So what I'm thinking is that the watermelon/pineapple and the bowling ball is not Toms real parents which goes with theory that Tom made himself create them as an excuse to a "dark" past to which they actually died. BUT in the end this is just a theory and isn't really important.

    My personal theory is that the watermelon is the doctor who helped Tom's mom give birth.
    The pineapple may of already had kids with the bowling ball and had to stay home to look after the other kids. Tom (as in the Eddsworld Universe) may have siblings, they are just not shown in the show. The watermelon was probably just the doctor, and the pineapple was probably not there to experience the birth.

    Personably I believe this was an animation error, sometimes I get pineapples and watermelons confused with each other, I don’t know why but I do so maybe the same thing happened to Edd. However from a lore perspective maybe they could explain it away by saying that it’s a polygamous marriage with two dads and one mom.

  • @t33thsyst3m
    @t33thsyst3m 3 года назад +24

    Ok, so here is my theory. As you know, if you have two fathers in love, they could always want to have a child but be unable too. But there is a process where you can ask someone and pay them to carry the baby. So my theory is that while the bowling ball is his mother, he lived with his two fathers. So there is my guess.

    my theory os that they ARE the same person.
    "walter" is toms dad bust without hair becuase he was going through chemo for lets say cancer.
    This could be linked becuase tom gets cancer down the line as he said in WTFuture, he said the lazer to the eyes was what cuased it, he couldve had a higher chance of developing cancer becuase of a family member having cancer.
    his dad then later survived his cancer and his hair started to grow into its normal spiky form.
    this would then have him have to alter what fruit he is, this could also be a indicator of their relationship or his personality, from mabey watery or weak to stronger and protective duse to the outer layer and innards if both fruit.
    his hair definitley grew back in that gap of time.
    Wich is why i belive his dad is not only a watermelon. But a pinaple.

    At the beginning we see the little strip where Tom’s father dies, but The one question I had was where did Matt get the gun from. I mean who would give a child a gun. So, with my conclusion Tord likes guns so Tord gave Matt the gun, then Matt gave the gun to the bear, then the bear shot Tom’s dad. So technically this is all Tord‘s fault

    Tom “father” (fun dead): Tom seems to have a more consistent portrayal throughout his appearances. Tom is generally portrayed as cynical, pessimistic, and cold. Tom can be smart or stupid depending on the situation. Tom does not usually get along with others such as Matt or Tord, and does not enjoy Christmas. Tom is addicted to alcohol, particularly Smirnoff, and cares deeply for a bass guitar (which Tom calls Susan). Tom's Parents:
    In "Fun Dead", Tom's "mother" was a bowling ball and Tom's "father" was a pineapple, explaining the lack of eyes and spiky hair. In a flashback in "25ft Under the Seat", Tom's "father" was drawn as a watermelon. Edd did not know how to draw a pineapple so the watermelon was the mistake so the pineapple is actually his father so the water melon might be the step father wait wait wait wait why is toms parents objects maybe he forgot what his parents look like toms mom: straight light brown hair normal eyes blue dress toms true dad: with glasses black eyes yellow shirt grey pants light brown hair toms step dad: with glasses normal eyes dark blue pants green shirt bald hair

    I think that Tom's father died after impregnating his mother, his mother died in delivery, Tom was born with a birth defect, and the doctor put these inanimate objects next to the bed when he was born to replace his "parents", and then Tom grew attached to them, obviously thinking they were his real parents. This means that Tom would have legal parents but effectively be an orphan. So, I think that's what happened here, because that would explain a lot of his characterization of being depressed and angsty, and why the bowling ball would still be around. Once he grew older, he realized that the bowling ball he brought around with him wasn't actually sentient and that hurt him mentally just like his father getting blown up by the shotgun-wielding bear did when he was younger. Then his prom date being a coconut would be for the reason that nobody wanted to be around him anyway (either because of his personality or that he brought a bowling ball in place of a person as his mother to parent-teacher conferences) so he brought an inanimate object to prom with him, probably thinking it was also sentient since he would already be prone to believing that because of the circumstances of his birth.
    That's at least my headcanon.

Tord came back to monitor Tom's behavior and was studying how he acted. Edd and Matt are his friends that aren't aware of the truth and might just be clones.

    Edit: I just finished the video and this theory was in it lmao
    Theory, the pineapple being a stepfather is true, but his dad, stepdad, and mother all died in tragedies somehow relating to the objects they're seen as. The reason he believes they are those objects is because they died while he was so young, his brain altered the memories to protect him from the full trauma of the stepfather's blatant death. Matt and his mom were just used to such scenery because of Matt's dangerous habit of giving bears shotguns.

    Maybe the pineapple divorced the bowling ball before tom was born or the other way around so she remarried to the watermelon and tom was visiting his pineapple dad at that time. Having my mom and dad separate when I was just 1 year old, I have visited him before.

    My theory is:
    In hammer and fail eddisode when Matt screams " Not again AAAH!" (because he was attacked by a poltergeist)
    Tom says: "I thought I was done with this when I moved out of my parents house" implying that maybe watermelon dad was divorced with his mom the bowling ball and was merried to pineapple until Tom's beloved pineapple step dad was killed by a bear wich traumatised Tom because his step-dad was loving and caring towards him. After pineapple dads death watermelon dad returned and he was an abusive alcoholic. Watermelon would abuse his bowling ball wife and Tom because he was an alcoholic a trait that Tom picked up later in his life. When Tom got older domestic abuse was so frequent in his family that he had to escape to find peace and this is when he decided to move in with Edd. But hey that's just a theory an Eddsworld theory.

    the theory about any of the inanimate objects not actually being Tom’s parents and prom date actually makes sense because in the Eddisode “Beaster Bunny”, Tom says, “You found my REAL parents!”

  • @Digital_Devil15
    @Digital_Devil15 Год назад

    My personal theory is that Tom’s actual parents were absent most of his childhood, so he assigned the roles of ‘mum’ and ‘dad’ to random objects he had, and he chose a bowling ball because it resembled his eyes, and originally he had a watermelon but it rotted or was eaten and had to be replaced. Plus, in Beaster Bunny Tom says something about looking for his real parents.

    I have a theory about Tom's dad, and it may sound far fetched but comparing it to the world of eddsworld it doesn't sound that bad. ok so, Tom's Dad, Walter, is like a pokemon, he evolved into a Pineapple somewhere between Tom's birth and his dad's death. and now that i think of it, evolution could have worked for Tom's mom, only in reverse, sort of. i think Tom's mom is just a normal bowling ball now the after she devolved(?) from a living bowling ball. so Walter evolving into Pete could explain why Tom has his hair like it is, genes that were passed on. in conclusion, Walter is a Pokemon and evolved into a Pineapple. Hope this makes sense

  • @CheesBoi
    @CheesBoi 2 года назад +2

    It's simple, Walter passed away after Tom's birth then Pete became his stepdad before Tom could remember anything and his parents never told him that's why he shouts ''father!'' because he thinks Pete is his father and the spiky hair maybe because he had long hair and he just changed it. Another one is, Tom's mum had an affair with Pete and Walter didn't notice than when Walter realised the baby wasn't his he left Tom's mum and Pete came into the family

    Ok well as you said you don’t care about this theory anymore, but I’m still gonna make this comment because I’m bored af :/
    what if when Tom was born, and Pete , (the pineapple) was away at his job or in a traffic jam, and couldn’t even be there for his son being born. Now, that’s most unlikely, but not once in the show, has it ever said that Walter (The watermelon) was the father. Though Tom has called Pete his father. Basically Pete was stuck and couldn’t be there for Tom, and asked Walter to get to the hospital to make sure that Tom and his mom was okay.
    Anyway love your content, keep the amazing work! :D

    Tom may realy not remember his parents, but the pineapple and the ball are just something left of his parents ’memory (or no?). And the watermelon was his grandfather, also from the rest of his memory. And (not sure), but Tom may have black eyes because he got sick of something strange at birth.

    I still have the opinion that watermelon and pineapple the same person.
    And that is why: my theory is that his parents are true people, but he remembers them like fruit and ball because of his association. When Tom was born his dad never had a haircut, but wore green outfit, so he looked like a watermelon, but some time later he changed his style and started wearing yellow, and had his hair similar to Tom’s hair at the moment, so he associated him a as a pineapple. His mum has Black eyes, just like Tom, and wears blue outfit, so he associated her with bowling ball. It’s just my theory, nothing more.

    I think I know the truth, Tom was born then one of the doctors put objects next to him because he was left behind, furthermore Tom raised himself (if that makes sense) and obviously at one point the watermelon got moldy so he replaced it with a pineapple, when the bear shot his “father” It made Tom realise that his parents are objects, forever scaring him

    theory: walter and pete were tom’s 2 dads and in that flashback, the bowling ball was just some random lady trying to eat the baby and walter is trying to keep his baby from being eaten while pete stands off-camera uselessly

  • @89_jojc57

    I think I might know how to explain this, in the episode beaster bunny Tom says “you found my real parents” so maybe he lost his parents when he was really young and doesn’t remember what they look like so whenever he thinks of them, he sees them as random objects.

    i can fully agree that tom's mom is a bowling ball since they both have blank black eyes
    but i do also agree that tom's dad is a pineapple bc they both have spikey hair
    my theory :
    about tom's watermelon dad on 25 ft under the seat (im not sure if this is the correct episode im talking about), i think its just an old choice they made, i think they just changed the idea into a pineapple so it would make more sense
