Lol I know. 2024 and still no new MS3. They probably won't bother at this point as the new one already has a turbo engine but you can't get the turbo and awd with anything but a boring automatic. Be nice if all they did was add a manual and call it the MS3. Maybe a 30-50hp bump too just for fun.
Skip the $1750 appearance package and you have an insane amount of car for $25,000-$26,000. The new 3 is a lovely car. I have a 2010 3s Grand Touring 6MT and the new one is a great improvement.
+ER B (hondaftw1234) Pad $24.100 for mine missing only the Eloop and sunroof. This car has a nice oversteer for a front wheel drive unlike every other manufacturer which understeers like the A3, Forte, GTI, Civic SI, ILX. I could have bought any of these cars and loved the deal I got on the mazda.
+Matt Doyle Congrats ,you managed to make a front wheel car oversteer on those awesome tight corners. My comment was based on my comparison. " Understeer and oversteer based on changes in steering angle associated with changes in lateral acceleration over a sequence of STEADY-STATE circular turning tests". Meaning at the Mazda 3S limits, it will understeer a bit less.
I've got a 2005 3 and my father drives a 2014 3i Touring and boy, what a difference in terms of build quality. The third generation models feel a heck of a lot more solid, the interior is much much nicer, and it's still has the zoom-zoom spirit. Don't get me wrong, I still love my first generation to death but I'm glad that they've gotten even better over the redesigns throughout the years. Great review!
I'm new to this channel, but I feel I should say this: Great work to you, sir! I'm very impressed with the presentation and content. Congrats and keep up the good work!
Used to have one of these in red. The piano black accents on the aero kit and the little bits of chrome made it a very striking car. Black perforated leather (REAL leather) interior, with red stitching, with a combination of gloss black, brushed aluminum and carbon fiber trim. This car was absolutely beautiful, insanely reliable, quick, agile, and insanely fun to drive with the manual trans, naturally aspirated 2.5 liter combination. I have a $40,000 Mini Cooper S now, and it's great......but I still miss my Mazda 3. We'll probably never see another car quite like it.
Redline Reviews Hey there Sofyan ( Sorry if I misspelled your name ) ! Just wanted to say , I've been watching your reviews for a really long time now & I've always loved them . Continue with the great work ! I just have one proposition to give you , why won't you like once a month review a car in the Used car market/ Second hand vehicles that seem to you great deals to buy ? I'm sure people who are looking for a second hand vehicle would of liked to see reviews on them ;) Thank you very much !
Kevin Medeiros Hi Kevin, Thanks for watching! I will probably always want to film a nice used car, especially if it's rare or super clean. What really limits me lately are time constraints. I'm up to my elbows in new cars to show you guys all the time ;). I know how much you guys want to see used cars too, I'll see what I can do about adding more used cars into the mix from time to time. Appreciate the input :) -Sofyan
+Kevin Medeiros Well I didnt need the hatch so i went with the Mazda 3s sedan. I have ben driving it like i stole it for 19k miles now with 0 problems. I owned an VW R32 and everything from the door mechanism breaking to coolant issues to grenading the transmission happined on the VW. drove from Utah to CA with a rope tied from the door to passenger head rest to keep it closed lol. So with my mazda all I hav done to it so far is put continental summer only tires on it for a great performance gain. Few down sides, Engin takes more oil than special deals on oil changes list and requires Sinthetic only. If you put stuff in the trunk thats heavy the cover over the spare tire is cheap and will warp and if you have to fold the rear seats down the front seats lose leg room. I am 73" tall. Thats it.. It is hard for me to find a bigger car to replace now becouse the Tech is best and easy for me to use in the mazda. I dont keep cars for too long so I am starting to look for bigger options like the new Chrysler 300S Hemi. Just FYI I clock 0-60 6.9 seconds at sea level all day with verry few tweeks. Mazda is WIN.
The SkyActiv is definitely one of the best. I just drove a 2.0 auto and it was the best engine/transmission combo I've ever driven in a compact class of car. What ridiculous is how you can redline these cars so easily and these cars want to, all while producing excellent economy and what's rare is that even the automatic will rev out each gear in manual mode to redline without automatically upshifting, so driver's have full control of the power band. It's still a debate on the shopping list and more to test drive, but right now even the 2.0 is #1 for now in what seems to be possibly the best in class. The 2.5 wouldn't even be needed for the purposes and areas were it would be driven, because anyone can figure out how fast it is if the 2.0 is driven for a comparison. At some points it's just preferences and what's most practical, for pure performance, ditch the whole class for a Subaru WRX.
The good thing about Mazda is they really deal. I got almost $4000 off the sticker on my 3 SGT, bringing the price down to about $23,500. A lot of car for that price!
The sleeper model in this car is the S touring not grand touring. You get all the mechanical goodies, 2.5 liter engine, paddle shifters, 18 inch wheels, HUD, mazda connect, etc. for just over $24,000.00
Just picked this car up yesterday and put 125 miles on it in the first day. No plans or errands, just driving the car on backroads. The car is absolute blast to drive. The 2.0 Engine in the lower trim models really aren't even close to the 2.5. I test drove both but ultimately the 2.5 is the way to go. I'll be honest though, as a first time Mazda owner, I am only worried about the future reliability. My previous car (Lexus RX400h) lasted a solid 9 years before it started giving me true problems. It made it to 130K miles with ease and only at 140K is when things started to need repairs. The repairs would have cost more than the car was worth. I hope the Mazda stays with me for as long as that Lexus did.
Awesome. 100% satisfied. I was going to get some work done to it but I just got a motorcycle instead and decided that will be my speed machine. However, this Mazda3 GT does pull when it needs to and I am happy with it. Again, the 2.0 and the GT are two different cars. The 2.0 is pretty crappy to be frank.
I used to have a 2011 2.5 s Sport model and I never noticed any kind of instability in the rain. In fact the first 10 days I owned the car it rained and it was honestly nothing but confidence inspiring when the road was wet. The only time the car felt unstable was on the highway when it was windy. The car got tossed around like nothing else I've ever driven. Even my girlfriend's Honda fit with it's high profile and lower weight is better under windy conditions.
my ride is 2005 mazda3 I loved it and having hard time to get rid off it because of its quality . but when my car is ready to retire , I'll get this mazda 3 menual transmission just like mine 😆
I love the 2015 Mazda 3. I've got the top model in sedan and i love the minimal look in the interior. I hate how some cars are just cluttered with buttons. But this makes it look sleek. I love the safety features but what i don't like is the iStop. Bloody annoying so i have to disable it every time i drive the car.
New car quite uinform, used cars differ a lot depending on multiple ownership, road condition, even single owner, some treats his car so carefully, some not..........
You said you really like hatches. Can you solve my dilemma: 3 grand touring hatch or a 6 grand touring? I would very much value your opinion as I love your reviews.
Surprisingly I fell in love with this Mazda 3. Too bad in our country, the hatchback is a mid-trim and does not have the analog tach. The top trim is a sedan only with the analog tach. The auto is a bit less responsive tho.
I wonder if the reason why we have no speed3 currently is possibly because of Mazda and Ford no longer working together and the engine in the last speed3 is the 4-cylinder turbo available in the current mustang and/or because the car has a higher compression ratio if they're having a difficult time trying to make a speed3 with skyactiv tech
Hey Sofyan! I was wondering about the fit and finish of this vehicle in particular because I know that Mazda has moved away from assembling this car in Japan and have started assembling them in Mexico. Have they done a good job of bringing in their engineers to make sure fit and finish is as good as the many years of experience that they've had in Japan?
I kinda think of the 2015-16 Mazda3 sGT Hatch 6MT in the same way I think of the 16-17 Accord V6 6MT in that it's this sleeper enthusiast car that's, IMO, one of the best all-around cars you can get period from the last decade.
What do you guys think? The Mazda 3s GT or GTI Golf (i know on different level than the regular Mazda) Having a hard time choosing the Golf over the Mazda, I just like the interior, infotainment and sporty handling and tech over the GTI. What would you guys take?
Jonathan Washington I personally chose the 3s over the GTI. While I would have loved to have the extra horsepower and roominess of the GTI, the better tech, reliability, and gas mileage of the 3 really sold me. while the 3 isn't as sporty as the GTI, it is still definitely a very fun car, with a lot of great features. That being said, if you have the opportunity to buy an actual German GTI, then for me personally the choice would be much more neck and neck.
Mazda cheaper to insure than the GTI? I am not so sure about that. I am 37, own a home, and married. We own a 2016 CX-5 Grand Touring and a 2015 GTI Autobahn. The GTI is actually cheaper to insure than the CX-5. Agree though that the infotainment system in the Mazda is better. That being said, there are some annoyances. For instance the VW allows you to touch the screen and access all functionality all the time whereas the Mazda locks you out the minute you start rolling and only allows for the use of the joystick. At that point you start clicking around a lot looking down at some of the buttons which defeats the purpose of why they lock out the screen. The VW would be much better if it had a faster processor, higher resolution screen, and made some minor tweaks to the menus. That being said, even my wife said she likes some of the quickness to do things in the VW -- like for instance changing the radio station, as it seems to be faster to do basic things rather than use the knock off I-drive controller to fumble around all kinds of menus. As for reliability, IMO the Mazda is more reliable as evidenced by higher lease residuals, but it depends on how long you are going to keep the car. We don't keep our vehicles longer than 2-3 years, so it's not an issue for us. In the end though, the GTI is so much more of an enjoyable vehicle for a driver than this Mazda 3. The chassis dynamics alone are superior. IF you don't mind a not quite as good infotainment system, a little worse fuel economy, and more traditional hatchback styling. The GTI you can actually track, I would not do it with this Mazda.
I wouldn't get a GTI based on Consumer Reports reliability chart. The Golf TSI is a different story and with 170 HP, 17" alloys, it's a good, fun, reliable, well appointed hatch. The styling is not as good as the Mazda 3 but better back seats with some actual head room.
Jonathan Washington I was debating between those two last year and ended up with the mazda3 sport gt. my factors were regular gas vs premium for the gti and my insurance was about $30 less a month for the mazda. also, i had a vw in the past and loved it, but it needed a lot of repairs before hitting 100k miles. I commute over 25k miles a year and need a car that can go 200k miles without any major issues. i think the mazda will have a better chance of providing that for me. if i had more money and were only thinking about fun, i think the GTI would've been my choice. still, my mazda is pretty fun to drive. and more horses would've probably gotten me more tickets--already had to talk my way out of one speeding tik this year. choose wisely
Just to let you guys know the TACH meter for US is in screen to left and speedometer is center which makes it really bad for manual drivers plus paint comes off easily as they are paper thin.
I much prefer the interior of the Mazda6 over this one, but I like the overall length/size of the Mazda3 more. Are they going to update the interior of the Mazda3 for 2016?
10:13 Choosing my first car in 2023, at the same price what would be a better choice, 2015 Mazda 3 1.5AT Hatchback or 2010 Honda CR-V 2.0AT? Someone told me the Honda will outlive the Mazda by a decade but I really doubt it. I love the Mazda 3 newer technologies and fuel efficiency, but I also love to have a spacious SUV and the improvement in visibility.
I've heard that the Toyo tires that come with the 16" wheels also have very poor grip. Wasn't expecting to hear the same with the 18" wheels with the Pirelli tyres. I think some Continental tyres can add a lot to its comfort while still having very good grip (much better than the Toyo's at least)
Justin Kelly It is a way better system then the other in the dash versions also helps you keep your eyes on the road. Only drawback is morning light from behind to the side can wash out the screen.
Prob just be a different wheel design, definitely the LED headlights that all other models are getting and probably a driver dynamic system to pick sport, eco or normal and an electronic parking brake.
The only thing I don't like about their infotainment system is that it appears that you won't be able to put an aftermarket headunit in place of it like you can on most cars, either with a single din or double din unit. So you'll be stuck with that for the entire time you own the car.
Kishava Latchman I'm always on the lookout for one, most I come across aren't in the kind of pristine condition I prefer used cars to be in for filming purposes. Trust me, it's on my list for reviews. -Sofyan
I just purchased one the other day and so far love it but just today the infotainment screen had began shutting off and on and I had no control of stopping it. Pretty bummed as I've only had the car 4 days. Hopefully it's nothing serious and can be fixed, otherwise a great car so far! & this is my first mazda!
amitavc I prefer the 6-speed and engine response/sound of the engine in the 2.4L 6-speed ILX. It's more sporty and engaging to drive, and it's quicker. Mazda offers the hatch versatility and looks more interesting, but as far as interior noise levels, ride quality, and interior quality, they are about equal.
I really like the interior. I wish they would come out with the mazdaspeed 3 already, and maybe make it awd like the next Gen focus rs. I'm really disappointed to hear that the 6 speed gearbox does a poor job of waking up the 2.5. I know its 600lbs heavier with an automatic, but the cx5 with the 2.5 is really really slow.
Marko Mamba Personally, I don't think it's particularly fast. It'll smoke a Civic or Corolla all day long but for about the same money, I could get a GTI or Civic Si and I'd pick those all day long over the Mazda3, at least until the Speed3 comes out. -Sofyan
+Marko Mamba This car is not a drag race car and it does not come with good stock tires for performance. So with less than $800. In new rubber and few other changes im running 6.9 seconds 0-60 in SoCal, this is with the automatic 2.5L. Civic drives like a heavy pig compared to my mazda 3s. A Hyundai genisis with 3.8 v6 couldent lose me through Malibu canyon. Lots of HP is the crutch of bad drivers.
Someone help me with my M3 S GT. The road noise is terrible to the point where my ears get plugged on the highway. Is it the lack of noise insulation in the car or is it the 18'' sport tires?????
Alittle of both but I hear the stock tires are really loud. I kept hearing the complaints but my 2014 mazda 3 s is really quiet for me, comparing to my 96 accord and parents gs400 (20" rims)
I had the same complaint. I had a sound system installed in my car and I told the guys to install dynamat extreme throughout the car to dampen the road noise. Makes a WORLD of difference.
Hopefully theyll figure out how to integrate that screen instead of it just sitting there like an afterthought. It annoys me and I almost want to rip it off.
cause they have established themselves to be the most reliable and best value for money for many years now. Sure this car is better but I guess most average people just stick with whats familiar.
+David Downing Mazdas are pretty good, very popular in Australia due to the sporty styling. Usually, I think the details on a Mazda are not as well refined as a Toyota or Civic, since Mazda is a smaller company with a lower budget to develop their cars.
AWD seems to be a must for this car. The handling in the wet and torque steer seem excessively bad and let this down for what is otherwise an extremely impressive and likable car.
+lapamful I have improved the driving dynamic issues that you are referring to by replacing the underperforming tires that the 3S came with to Pirelli P Zeroes. The torque steer and ride and confidence at speed have ben improved so much. the size tire that I am using is 225x45x18.
compare this car to Kia Forte 5 SX (hatch) and it will see nothing but Kia's tail lights. For a 2.5 litre, it should've been around 205-210hp (but again, depends on compression ratio). The Forte has the 1.6litre turbo that generates 201hp - that right there is an impressive tech enginuity and for the price, you can't beat it.
"Mazdaspeed3 hopefully next year"
This review gets funnier every year
Lol I know. 2024 and still no new MS3. They probably won't bother at this point as the new one already has a turbo engine but you can't get the turbo and awd with anything but a boring automatic. Be nice if all they did was add a manual and call it the MS3. Maybe a 30-50hp bump too just for fun.
@@CarAudioObsessions lol, I posted this 5 years ago damn. I still have my 2015 Mazda 3, small oil leak. Otherwise no significant issues.

I went to the website of my local dealership and this car with a 6 speed manual transmission with the 2.0 was $19,500

+Daniel Mecham just test drove one, if it didn't under steer for you, you weren't on very tight corners.
+Matt Doyle Congrats ,you managed to make a front wheel car oversteer on those awesome tight corners. My comment was based on my comparison. " Understeer and oversteer based on changes in steering angle associated with changes in lateral acceleration over a sequence of STEADY-STATE circular turning tests". just bought this one and your review was the one that sold me on it. thanks!
AWesome to see a 6-speed manual transmission in this hot hatch. Nice video!
Not exactly a hot hatch. Hot hatch needs at least 250hp.
The HUD like projection feature is only a distraction if you're not a gamer
just like in the simulations
Say "premium" one more time.
Otherwise great review. Love my Gen 1 MazdaSpeed3.
Some folk say that Sofyan is still waiting for that Speed3 till this day.

This is a really appealing car now that they give the 2.5 with a manual
Soy you're the goat of cars reviews.😏😏
The good thing about Mazda is they really deal. I got almost $4000 off the sticker on my 3 SGT, bringing the price down to about $23,500. A lot of car for that price!
I've always liked Mazdas.
That car looks like a blast to drive. Very impressive.
Nice! Waited a long time for this review and I like how it's done. Well done.
7:46 "When you shut the door, the materials back here are actually hard touch plastic." Lmao
What does he expect on a car jn the sub 30k class? Leather or suede doors

I own a 2004 Mazda 3 gt. Love my car! Just waiting for the new speed to finally come out!
I have an 08 3 HB GT fun little car, but hate the noisy interior.
I love this car
well there'd be a problem if you didn't 😂
+MrWafflez000 Lol you're right
Still waiting for that Speed3 lol
+redline Reviews your reviews are spot on, very good job.
Fantastic in dept review! I'm all in on this car!
Nice review! My 07 3 is approaching 100K and the fact that the 2.5 is now available with the stick makes this a very tempting upgrade...
VW to me has always been the leader in “more premium looking than it actually costs”, but Mazda isn’t too far behind now.
Thanks for the great review! Now you've made my decision between the i and s models that much more difficult. :D

Jonathan Washington mazda

The black side mirror?? Is it a kit or vynil?? How is it installed?? Can it be removed to recover the white mirror??
I much prefer the interior of the Mazda6 over this one, but I like the overall length/size of the Mazda3 more. Are they going to update the interior of the Mazda3 for 2016?
I just like the HUD
help me decide bro. I'm almost committed to a 2013 Civic Si sedan, but Mazda 3 keeps coming up as an option. thoughts?
Nice review. Will you do a new sentra review Sir
RUclips recommended me this 5 years later

10:13 Choosing my first car in 2023, at the same price what would be a better choice, 2015 Mazda 3 1.5AT Hatchback or 2010 Honda CR-V 2.0AT? Someone told me the Honda will outlive the Mazda by a decade but I really doubt it. I love the Mazda 3 newer technologies and fuel efficiency, but I also love to have a spacious SUV and the improvement in visibility.
Not likely you'll ever find one to review but I'd love to see a saab 9-3 turbo sport combi X with the 6 speed
Can u please do the 2015 corolla s
Nice review. What's the song being played during the intro?
I've heard that the Toyo tires that come with the 16" wheels also have very poor grip. Wasn't expecting to hear the same with the 18" wheels with the Pirelli tyres. I think some Continental tyres can add a lot to its comfort while still having very good grip (much better than the Toyo's at least)
Great review. Well done. I own a sGT and you were spot on.
Definitely NOT a fan of the "tablet" sitting on the center stack...
Justin Kelly It is a way better system then the other in the dash versions also helps you keep your eyes on the road. Only drawback is morning light from behind to the side can wash out the screen.
Agree. looks cheap. But BMW Benz Audi all do the same thing.
You can easily fix that shit if it breaks.
Probably it doesnt look good for everyone, but I think that design did it's job perfectly.
How did the legroom go from 2014 "pretty tight" to 2015 "decent"?
Is there a word on the redesign/refresh look on the Mazda 3? 2016?
Prob just be a different wheel design, definitely the LED headlights that all other models are getting and probably a driver dynamic system to pick sport, eco or normal and an electronic parking brake.
hey redline i have a question. Do you believe the MS3 will be automatic or will they just have a manuel like its predecessors?
Please how can I center lock the doors when I’m driving there is no button to lock the doors in the car
Can't decide between the Honda Civic ex or the Mazda 3 i sport/touring. Help!
they should sale the protege 5 again because my aunt has a 2002 Mazda protege 5 and I love everything about it and it's a 4 cyl
+Ricardo Astorga How reliable was it?
The only thing I don't like about their infotainment system is that it appears that you won't be able to put an aftermarket headunit in place of it like you can on most cars, either with a single din or double din unit. So you'll be stuck with that for the entire time you own the car.
Looks like it could benefit from a stiffer engine mount and better tires. I'd go for the 2.0 over this though, it just gets too expensive.
Is the infotainment controller metal or plastic?
+tipoomaster Both. It's better in hand than many of the units found in Mercs and Audis.
I've been watching your videos for a while now. I am surprised you haven't reviewed the s2000 as yet. I would really like to see your opinion on it.
Kishava Latchman I'm always on the lookout for one, most I come across aren't in the kind of pristine condition I prefer used cars to be in for filming purposes. Trust me, it's on my list for reviews.

OK can't wait for it. 😀
Is it worth to get this model used in 2019?
I just purchased one the other day and so far love it but just today the infotainment screen had began shutting off and on and I had no control of stopping it. Pretty bummed as I've only had the car 4 days. Hopefully it's nothing serious and can be fixed, otherwise a great car so far! & this is my first mazda!
@@KASSANDRAandVICTORIA there is an extended warranty on the screen its free i think its like 8 years
How do you feel it compares to your ILX? I am comparing cars right now, and I have it down to this or the 6MT ILX.
amitavc I prefer the 6-speed and engine response/sound of the engine in the 2.4L 6-speed ILX. It's more sporty and engaging to drive, and it's quicker. Mazda offers the hatch versatility and looks more interesting, but as far as interior noise levels, ride quality, and interior quality, they are about equal.
amitavc You're gonna want to flip a coin for this one lol
I did. It landed on its edge and I bought a Civic Si.
+Redline Reviews Can you guys do a review of the Scion TC?
Can you review the new Si (coupe or sedan)?
I really like the interior. I wish they would come out with the mazdaspeed 3 already, and maybe make it awd like the next Gen focus rs. I'm really disappointed to hear that the 6 speed gearbox does a poor job of waking up the 2.5. I know its 600lbs heavier with an automatic, but the cx5 with the 2.5 is really really slow.
845ToastT the mazda 3 is not 600 pounds heavier with an automatic. more like 200
wonderwall135 The Cx5 is 600lbs heavier than the mazda 3.
oh gotcha.
The console does NOT collapse when you push to start it..
How's the headroom? It looks a little low.
CIVIC 1.5T VS MAZDA3 2.5?
Do you consider this as fast car? when you reviewed the smaller engine you said that was peppy too.
Lots of HP is the crutch of bad drivers.
is the sunroof fixed or retractable?
Can we disable the heads-up display?
which car is better Mazda 3 GT 2.5L or Honda Civic 1.5L turbo?
+helloedrgffdg I'm also on debating the two
+Miguel Aguilar Test drive both.
the only problem with the 1.5 turbo is that there is no stick
+helloedrgffdg Old model Civic SI 2.4, else the Mazda3 GT. The Civic 1.5T with a manual might be ok, but no cvt...
Which one this or Honda Accord v6 coupe
Thanks
How do i get into reviewing cars for youtube ? So eager to do it
Was this a 3 built in Mexico?
Which is better, Mazda 3 sedan or hechbeg?
Aleksandar Angelov "hechbeg" xD
is the color blue reflex 42B?
I just don't understand why anyone would choose a corolla or civic over this.
cause they have established themselves to be the most reliable and best value for money for many years now.
Sure this car is better but I guess most average people just stick with whats familiar.
+Essjay Actually according to several surveys this was top of reliability.
+David Downing Mazdas are pretty good, very popular in Australia due to the sporty styling. Usually, I think the details on a Mazda are not as well refined as a Toyota or Civic, since Mazda is a smaller company with a lower budget to develop their cars.
it could be handier if the speaker, demonstrated the features instead of talking fast, so drivers could appreciate the various advantages.
+Bernie Fen LOL 29 mpg Highway with a 1.6 and no spare tire to improve fuel economy. Where is this great Tec you speak of ?
+Daniel Mecham I'm talking about the engine alone genius.. can you name other cars with a 1.6L (turbo) that makes 200+?!...
+Bernie Fen fiesta st
Hmm plenty cars with 300+ MPG getting 29+mpg HWY. NONE of them KIA. Keep your low tec low MPG 1.6. LOL-😄
cause the Kia has turbo
what is the speed 3??
is a new speed3 confirmed?
Can you drive the Kia Optima
Can you please please please do the 2015 Toyota corolla s
