One of the most unappreciated cartoons made, I loved it when I was a kid.
I couldn't agree more!!
At least we remember it And that’s what’s most important things that made our childhood different
@@SUNSHINE-me8gz couldn't agree more.
Facts
its all out on dvd too
Land: Thundercats
Space: Silverhawks
Sea: Tiger Sharks
Good childhood memories.
Feel sorry for the millinials!!
You mean street sharks
@@fuckmeright Talking about the 90's you remember Bot masters? I'm 80's child but I do remember the 70's, 80's and 90's cartoons. now Cartoons are badly designed with crappy stuff. it's just shit
What about Centurion, Mask, Brave Star, Visionaries, Bionic Six, Cops, saber rider, Jayce, and the wheeled warriors, Dnd. There more I'm just lazy to mention. I just mention my favorite once.
As a kid, I always was waiting for a Crystar cartoon even though I had the toys and comics.

I loved BOTH Silverhawks and Thundercats!
What about the tiger sharks?
@@professortruth3936 Yes!
@Daniel Appleton I know!
@@professortruth3936 loved that one too

Terrible review. Should know the show before she runs her mouth.
@@BarjutsuTAAOB oh shut up
What does that matter? Like she said, the show can still be watched on some platforms
What about Bravestar....does anybody remember that cartoon show?
Strength of the Bear!
Jeffrey Robison i loved it. Speed of a cheetah. Eye of a hawk
The first and only one to feature a native American indian in the lead role.
I only saw it a few times
The horse 3030.
Blessed are those, who got a chance to grow up in (and experience) the 80s and watch such divine cartoons every Saturday morning...
And 90s lol
Interesting here in Philly Thundercats and Silverhawks were afterschool cartoons
I never forgot SilverHawk
ArtGod me neither!
Loved that theme song!
?
PapaGeorg10 m and
I actually had the silver hawk I loved that thing.
You will.
Found my silverhawks toys at my grandparents house about 10 years ago. Still awesome. Squeeze the legs together and POP! Wings deployed.
SILVEEERHAAAAAAWKS!
ricky110882 yup lol
Lamo, when I was a kid. The neighbor kid had a silver hawk toy. I got to play with it for the first time. I thought I had broken it when i squeezed the legs togeather. When he told me that was it's intended function. I felt disappointed of the uselessness of it. Then was mad from enjoyment betrayal.
@I am no one neither R you no. I did not steal it. I only tryed to steal once and got cought and beat bad. Nvr agean even though the one who beat me passed on.
Hell yeah tell you we old😂😂

I was bout 3 make a similar comment/response on that hot wing / blk guy matter.....😂🤣
Three best cartoons ever: Silver Hawks, M.A.S.K. and Thundercats.

Transformers was better than SH and M.A.S.K tho
Absolutely right.

I remember really liking this show when I was a kid
Same here. The 80s were great times😁
Me too alot of great shows back then. :)
Dude, I grew up watching the Spanish Dub of this...
I really liked the show as well. This segment is kind of insulting.
Thank you for this review. It was really good.
When I was a kid silverhawks was everything.. I still got the toys.. And I'm 36yrs old now.
Me too bro. She didn't grow up in the 80s. This show was great
So you were 2 when you started watching it? For one year. And when did they even do reruns of this show? No Netflix or Prime Video in the 90s.
@@mrXOwarrior You are thinking of the USA only. The SilverHawks were a successes in many countries (like mine) in the 1990s.
Do you have the complete series on dvd? Its been out for a long time
One of the most underrated cartoons of all time
Yeah it was great. Mostly forgotten.
Tremaine Triplett I used to love this shit as a kid.
FACTS!
The Snorks and Silverhawks...good concepts, most original designs, but the shows were mediocre. There's probably 1-2 good episodes for every 10 or so.
cant lie i felt like i was cheeating on Thundercats watching this i never made it through an episode just loved the song

There were two other Silverhawks characters you failed to mention: the self-powered Moonstryker, & former member-turned private detective, Condor
David Rogers HOLD THIS W MY FRIEND. You are a legend!
I certainly remember every Silverhawk, ever Moonstryker and Condor! Let's not forget the evil Silverhawk, Darkbird!
Was about to say same thing. And no mention of each their birds.
Dont forget supporting crew. Zeke the beek
Stargazer rival . The strong big guy that shot beams from between his Mr.Spock ears.
I remember moonstryker..
"Ready as a rooster in a hen house"
How many people you think that would trigger.
The 80s were filled with many team based cartoons like the Thundercats & Silverhawks, that usually had interesting blended concepts (birds/cyborgs, cats/humans) It was the norm back then. They might have been funded for the purpose of making a profit selling toys but that didn't take away from how inventive they were for the time. I'm glad whatever corporate cynicism that went into their making never resonated in the minds of kids watching them then. It was just a great time to be a kid.
Amen brotha!!
Don't forget the Tiger sharks.
The Centurions for me. They can actually make them live action now if they wanted to.
Bionic Bionic Six!!
Like Mask and gobots
These days, when a show is relatively popular, you can release entire seasons on DVD. In the days of VHS, that wasn't economically feasible (bulky cartridges could only hold a couple hours and the raw material was pretty expensive), so shows would often sell tapes that only had one or two episodes. So my parents bought me a tape with a single episode of Silverhawks and I probably watched it a dozen times. It involved the Mob stealing a "disintegrator ray" that could destroy anything but gold, so they built a gold... I guess I'd call it a space jet ski, and Commander Stargazer flew it since he was made of gold and thus immune, while the others were made of silver. Then he flew it into space and fought the Mob until the disintegrator backfired and blew up their own ship. Also there was comic relief from a cabbie who was maybe a New York stereotype and kept saying "y'know what I mean?" And the ending clip was a quiz about meteors.
Even at the time I could tell this was basically Thundercats in space (though I didn't know it was the same company), especially from Mon*Star's transformation sequence. Still, I liked it well enough, and I probably would have watched more but I don't think it aired in my location. Or maybe the show had already gone off the air by the time they were selling tapes.
This show was sooo underrated. I remember the show fondly and loved the space factoids after each episode. Too bad this show never got the chance to fly. (Bad pun...I know)
Omg, this needs a cgi reboot. Netflix, please do this.
Netflix has been doing an outstanding job in giving older properties. Carmen Sandiego, She-Ra, Castlevania. So yeah
...... looking at you Netflix.
The art design of She-Ra is terrible.
Netflix didn’t make those series. They’re only the distributor. I think the license is currently owned by NBCUniversal or Comcast. Hopefully we will see them again soon.
Uummm........
The reason why I love Silverhawks is because of the design
I'd Eat DA Butt! 😂
I definitely remember Silverhawks and even as a kid I knew it was basically fake Thundercats. But that theme song was dope!!
Bionic Six, please.
Yes Sir!!!
Cool show. Crappy opening music. Good call though sir.
That was a great cartoon! It still is
@@AHTOtv it wasn't all that bad. Tried to make it wholesome 😁
My ish
i want to see a live action Bravestarr movie with the Rock.
I want to see a cross over with thundercats silverhawks and tigersharks cartoon
Almost happened but damned Cartoon Network cancelled the thundercats
That would cool as hell!
Damn
Nice someone else actually remembers the Tigersharks
Hell yeah Tigersharks! Watched it right after Karate Kat
WHATS MY FAVORITE SILVER HAWKS MEMORY? Mine was having to go to Shawn's, my friend's house to watch it because my mother wouldn't let me watch it. Because of a guy on TV named Phil Phillips who was determined to find something terrible about virtually all major kids show and toys.
Lol, my parents never caught on to why I went to hang out at Shawn's every weekday afternoon.
Oh, and Shawn, if you're reading this, THANKS 👍 BUDDY!
Loved silver hawks. I’ve even given my 3 year old son my old quicksilver action figure. He has already pulled the arms off.
😂😂😂💪💪👍
that's worth money.. even with out the arms..
I had so many different action figures in the 80's and made the mistake of giving them away when I was older and wasn't as interested in them. I'm kicking myself now
Still have all the toys
A person can’t go a day without hearing the “diversity” scene.
You have to be kidding me... HOT WING... WTF?! LOL
i know! i was too young to make the connection but now as an adult, i see how terribly wrong that name was.
Yep my 1st thought on hearing his name. WTF...
What's wrong with it
Fake outrage detected
Richard Ramsawh I think OP was saying how ridiculous it is. Not outrage.
This review would have been more enjoyable if the host had narrated the content with a bias perspective rather than a sarcastic ‘flip flop’ tone which makes her come off as a schizo-antagonist. More professionalism, less with the extras. I’m not a big fan of the Silver Hawks, but respect those who might be.
I don't see it
I'm not seeing what you're talking about
anyone else like the galaxy rangers?
Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers was my favorite cartoon by far back in those days. I find very few remember it, and fewer still appreciated how good it was.
It was great and one of the few I liked all the characters
Was the joint. Just started watching it again
Own it
Goose man. Yes! The opening and closing themes rocked
I don’t think she ever watched this show. This was the ish all day long.
every heard about reruns different countries aired shows in different times for example CN aired Thundercats in early 2000s in my country
This was actually second in the Rankin/Bass action series trilogy. With the third being the even lesser known TigerSharks.
I remember those too. MAKO was one of them.
I loved Tigersharks! And they had a cameo in the 200x Thundercats show too!
Jason Scarce true
Capitan Bizarrely!!!
Silver Hawks and Thundercats had 2 of the best theme songs, along with Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors...
How many of you went listen to the theme song after watching this?
Me haha
I’m trying to remember it but I keep confusing it with the Thundercats song.
Nobody can master that riff during the bridge.
Damn right
Well, now we know where Teal'c from Stargate SG-1 got his likeness from. Hot Wing.
Dont forgot Visionaries, that was the bomb
The Centurions
Yes thank you, I’ve been trying to remember the name of this cartoon. Also was awesome
I loved visionaries
Any toy that involves holograms has my vote!
@@aaronj3924 Gargoyles were the best.
Silverhawks was one of the dopest shows ever. Definitely had a top 5 theme song. This show was underappreciated. Favorite part was finding hidden things within the show or the end when they had a quiz. And this woman is super fine!! She look way too young to have seen this show. Imma bout to subscribe just to see her again.
"Mind over matter, lady." I would sit through the Thundercats to get to the Silverhawks. Apparently, I was like fvck society from an early age.
I liked the Silverhawks better than the Thundercats.
I think it was because the Siverhawks were just cyborgs, which as a kid I could understand, but the Thundercats were weird human/cat hybrids which creeped me out. I'm a cat person, but I don't wanna see cat people.
Dang! I thought Silver Hawks was the next evolution of G-Force, and I wish Silver Hawks was more in-line with my other favorite show G-Force.
Sean Holmes I agree with you! Btw, The Copper Kid always reminded me of
Keyop.
Why is the only black character named hot wing racist much😠
lol
Lmao
Shoulda been grape-drink
Why is it called ‘Everything you didn’t know’ when it is basic knowledge about the show?
I used to love this show. I would like to see a remake that is edger and more modern
Cartoon network could butcher this show real good.
I love a live action movie.
@@jonathansimmons6452 So would I ♥️ a silver Hawks live action movie
@@covertyankee It could end up on Toonami. Or they could just bring back the series and put it on Boomerang. That is, of course, if the exec's remember that Boomerang was meant for classic shows and not what ever has played in the last 5 years.
Edgier sounds good. Since Mon*Star's gang was considered a "mob", it could have more of a Cowboy Bebop look and a film-noir feel to it and still have lots of action.
I have the action figures in my family room stand, along with thundercats and voltron, and someone always ask "what are those"
I find it funny how the narrator of this video is knocking the show inbetween explanations, yet the biggest one about being lack of story. In the era of steven universe or spongebob squarepants, how can anyone compare or complain? 80's were it's own unique animal,it had more imagination than this era does. I also find it funny how current millennials want to knock 80's cartoons, yet more 80's cartoons are getting reinvented. So I'd rather be original then be PC appropriate and unoriginal.
Don't forget her biggest problem with the show was lack of diversity. Then she introduces the black character and is snarky because he wasn't good enough. Millennials are actually going to bring the movie "Idiocracy" in to existence.
Steven Universe is one giant multi-season arc, keep watching.
The stories were fun and pretty well written. A second season would have been nice.
@@johnriecke5584 , why bother? Cartoon Network died in the 2000s.
I love the silver hawks when I was I kid in the 80s
A live (or fully CGI) MOVIE of Thundercats is needed ASAP
It almost happened nearly a decade ago, but it was shelved when Cartoon Network announced their Thundercats revival series. Also the CGI technology was not as advanced back then as it is today.
With Avatar like effects itd be really fun!
I agree with the babies of the 80s we need to see a silverhawks and Thundercats live movie
A photo realistic animated film like Final Fantasy Spirits Within would be a great movie right now.
The newer Thundercats series that came out a few years ago was a huge disappointment. I really wish they would just make it stay with the older style but maybe more fine tuned with computer animation.
It's hard for me to pick just ONE favorite S"ilverHawks" episode; I just plain enjoyed the entire series.
That guitar solo is a serious face melter. \m/
80s metal guitar was epic, especially in a cartoon.
I enjoyed the astronomy lesson at the end of each episode. At the time, I didn't realize they were required to do so; I just thought it was a cool thing to do.
I loved Silver Hawks as a kid! I had several of the action figures, including all the Silver Hawks, except Stargazer, and the two bad guys I liked the most, Mon Star and Mumbo Jumbo. I also had the Mirage to fly them around in!
I do wish the series would get another chance. I’ll have to check it out on Amazon. I’ve been showing my daughter a lot of the cartoons I watched as a kid and she gets hooked on them, as I did, so we get to enjoy them together :D
The Best Cartoon of my child Hood are The 80's please don't mess with greatness even if it is a better spin off 😲✌
The toys were awesome. I was a Silver Hawks fan.
loved and Still love this show. Would love to see a remake
Do Tigersharks
See you soon
Gg
I loveeeeeeeed SilverHawks and Thundercats when I was a kid!!!!...... My heroes!!!!!
One of my favorites as a kid along with the Mighty Orbots.
as an 80's kid, those toys were amazing
Really? The black guy is named Hot Wing?
😂😂😂
Lol
It was one of my favorite shows growing up as a kid in the 90s among Thundercats, Bionic Six, saber rider and the star sherif and Captain Planet.
The Tigersharks! The third and even more forgotten brother of Thundercats!
I remember an episode where each brought out their own hawk... Talley-Hawk was the only cyborg hawk... Bluegrass' guitar transformed into his hawk... LOVED THAT EPISODE!
😂😂😏
Loved the video & TV series.....BTW, left out any mention of TIGER SHARKS, which were also feat. briefly in a cameo in THUNDERCATS 2011 Revival Series
If the Sci-Fi channel was still around they might have been able to pull off a quality reboot of the series. Unfortunately now if it ever gets one it will likely be on Cartoon Network and be yet another Teen Titans Go.
You want obscure, do their other sister show Tiger Sharks!
Why did you get this gig doing a report on The Silverhawks when you are just gonna be condescending towards it and its fans?
I remember Silverhawks. Was one of my favorite shows back in the day.
As far as the 90s series were concerned, this and the other 80s series were very corny in hindsight. I guess that I was so captivated by the show, because I saw it in syndication in the afternoon when no other toons were on, the theme song(which was catchy even though I didn't know the words), and--you must admit--the way they put their masks on were super smooth! I think they do need a reboot. This time what they should do is show meaningful feats of power, strength, and speed*, because--when you don't know what a character is capable of--it kind of makes your not-so-well-known character seem not comparable to known characters. If you classify what they can do, then you know whether they are on Batman's, Spider-man's, or Thing's level. They might also want to introduce a new character in a reboot--in addition to the newer recruits when the show went off the air and they might want to add another villain, too. THE CREATION STORIES COULD CHANGE, TOO, BECAUSE MONSTAR'S WAS SORELY LACKING!
*For instance, can Quicksilver(Quick) fly as fast as or faster than Transonic, 90s Flash, or Quicksilver(Pietro) with more strength than they had due to having metal attacks?! Maybe Copper Kidd could be the 2nd fastest with more alien strength than he looked like he had. How strong/durable would Steelwill, Steelheart, and Flashback be?! Lifting a car, tank, or what?! Would they be able to take cars thrown at them, block bullets, block any normal weapon, or what? Another thing they can do with the twins is combine their strength(having a complete link to one another)! Would Bluegrass' weapon be as powerful as Music Master, Banshee, Black Canary, or Black Bolt? What about how powerful their weapon blasts were--as not all firing weapons are nearly the same? Then, they should specify how powerful Monstar was! They could even revamp the power levels of their characters. Plus, the birds were M-I-A and, so, they need to bring them out--as it would give then a distraction or a helping hand(as breaking restraints--if captured). TOO MANY QUESTIONS/ERRORS AND THESE ARE THE THINGS THAT MAKE OR BREAK A COMIC FRANCHISE!
Mon*Star looks like he'd be in as a member of SLIPKNOT. In fact, he looks like Craig Jones from Slipknot, haha!!
Mon*Starr had a pretty cool transformation sequence, but if you ask me, his empowered cyborg form was lame compared to his evil hair monster look. I know turning into a cyborg makes him seem more like an even physical match for the Silverhawks, but the design just wasn't as intimidating as his real face.
The main theme was badass but the actual cartoon is mediocre which was the case for 80% of toy based cartoons in the 1980's.
Thundercats? Top ten! Thou can't ask for more in young age.
Silverhawks? Meh... Even being a child, you can feel all it's cheesiness and cheap gimmick. Opening theme was brilliant, art and style was top notch, but the rest is meh...
TigerSharks? Pure trash. The show did not take itself serious and did not have the save quality level as previous two, so..Let it rests in oblivion.
Next project for the team working on Voltron: Legendary Defender?
That would be awesome...I like the storyline and animation style of Voltron: Legendary Defender...
Hey SYFY Wire, do you remember the original theme song? C’mon, sing it with me:
Wings of silver, nerves of steel...
^Shrieeeeek!^
Ex-OOOOH-Squaaaad!
Partly metal, partly real,
^Shrieeeeek!^
Ex-OOOOH-Squaaaad!
Soaring through the highway, of the heavens in their flight,
ExoSquad, c’mon, it’s time, SYFYYYY!
I’m still trying to piece together the guitar solo.
Who could you guys see playing THE SILVER HAWKS in a live action movie?? I could see a slimmer Chris Evans as Quicksilver with Tally-Hawk and maybe Elizabeth Olson as Steelheart..... would Sam Jackson as Commander Stargazer, be one AVENGER too many??
Yeah, No.
I would love to see that but sadly enough i know we never will.
I'm just glad i was alive in the 80s to experience these great cartoons.
I had silverhawk boots with little wings on em. I jumped off the book shelf, thinking I could fly with them on and crashed on the couch pretty hard and hurt my arm. Don’t know if I broke it or not, I was very young. They should do a live action movie of silverhawks, Hollywood’s running out of ideas anyway.
Tigersharks
The opening with Tally hawk brings a tear to my eye. The theme music and bird calling was one of the best introduction to a show.
Loved Silverhawks and Thundercats alike, this was such an underrated cartoon. They really don't make them the same anymore.
Melodia. Something about her I really loved. Hair and glasses maybe? I wanted to see her eyes. Voice was pretty awful, but when you hire one woman to do all the female voices, you get that. No female villains in Thundercats...
No way, bro. They named him “Hotwing” lol 🤦🏾♂️
Could've called him golden hawk or something
Given a long enough timeline, every mediocre, half baked IP in pop culture will eventually get overly praised by its nostalgic grown fan base. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, just pointing it out.
I'm Old now but when I was young this cartoon was AWESOME to me.
How about include an educational plug at the end of the Silverhawks live action movie with Coronel Bluegrass and Copperkid about the Juno and Cassini unmanned missions to Jupiter and Saturn respectively?
Crazy that Silverhawks, Thundercats, and Tigersharks takes place in the same universe. I would love to see a series connect all three.
Speaking of knock-offs of popular shows, what about the spate of TMNT clones? Biker Mice from Mars (and its even more direct clone, Wild West C.O.W.boys of Moo Mesa) and Street Sharks both come to mind, and I'm sure there were a bunch more.
Pulled me in, watched them both
I really loved Silverhawks at the time. I'd forgotten that the Black Silverhawk was named "Hot Wing"; which feels racist. The actor that performed Pantho's voice on Thundercats played the father/grandmother on the Cosby Show, Earl Hyman
I liked the Silverhawks
Very informative, thanks I really liked this show, I remember the team leader knew about old spacecraft from NASA one episode they found an abandoned spacecraft drifting in space
As a matter of fact, Copperkid came from the small, cold, rocky Death Star like Saturnian moon Mimas.
No way this host actually watched Silverhawks. Why do they give us these fake hosts? Anyways, I remember Silverhawks. I really enjoyed it. I think its time for a revival. Maybe.
Next......tiger sharks!
I remember having sliver hawk pjs. It had wings😊. And use to fly around the house. I wore them every night...until they mysteriously disappeared...aka mom got rid of them😕
This host is very good I hope to see her in more videos; a breath of fresh air from the cringe inducing voiceovers from watchmojo
We just need SilverHawks movie with Hans Zimmer to do the music score!!!
