22:30 Just wanted to share a interesting interaction missed here! Sauron says "Whenever an Army hits the ring tempts you." Army is an official creature type for the purpose of changeling. So your Changeling Outcast should have triggered the ring tempting you. ALSO it also means whenever you amass orcs, it should have just put counters on the changeling since it is an Orc you already control, not creating a new token. It's a really weird and specific interaction I've only learned as of the LotR set myself.
Yup. We filmed this episode June 24 I think? The set was VERY new and I finished putting the deck together the morning I flew out on the 23rd. I had never played it before.
@@AGirlNamedRon And here I was, thinking you put the unblockable changeling in the deck because it was also an army. :) Made a note to put changelings in my Saruman amass deck. :)

You always have a great cast, awesome vibes and play the coolest decks. That finish was insane! This has quickly turned into my favorite commander show!
Watching these videos makes me miss playing with my friends. Last time we had a play session was back in November 2022 and we played from 9am to 11pm. Cube, Commander, Legacy, and T4 formats. So much fun.
Also, seeing Anomolee's face of pain, staring into the camera when Joe started his loop... priceless...

The cookout shows so far are awesome. First, the setting is dope. Second, these are pods I’ve never seen. Also, those deck boxes are cool as hell. I love the idea of a main deck box with a small token compartment in a compact shape.
I love the episodes with Ron, always a positive attitude and that fun uplifting energy a newer player brings! Also i really wanted to build her deck but I knew it was gonna be pricey haha, clicked on that moxfield link and said sheeeeesh hahaha
Love the show! Always fun to watch and Joe you're the man, so what Im not coming from a negative place or trying to throw shade of anything, lol, but I do believe I've watched every TTJ EDH gameplay episode and Joe I think your decks are always a little too "high powered" lol. Sometimes people match the strength but I think most times it's a bit much for the table. I could be wrong but it's just an observation. Games are still fun to watch and it's always great to watch you go off, but I often find myself thinking "If they don't do something about Joe he's gonna take this one", lol, and then you pop off with a crazy turn or infinite combo.
I think if you run the numbers yes Joes decks generally pubstomp the table, would love to see a little more balance.
@@HighRollMTG we always rule 0 before the games. Instead of saying “pub stomp” you could just compliment the way I build and pilot decks. There have been plenty of times I’ve lost in these games too. Give people their flowers when they deserve them. Let’s keep being positive. We’re all here to have fun!

Etali only works with nonlands, so technically you can steal every nonland card and make it so they only have lands, but not deck out.

@@obicortes8199probably!! I had just built it the week of going there and I finished putting it together the morning I flew out 😅 I don’t expect the changeling to come up much, but it did this time. It’s a busy deck. Easy to miss stuff.

Not to be "that guy" but Smoldering Egg gets counters based on the mana that's actually spent, not the spells CMC. Anything that increases or decreases cost is factored into the number of counters, so paying the Flashback of 2R on Strike it Rich would give it 3 counters, not just 1.
