    Had drained the lines and was still lit up. And still not working so after finding you video i took the switch apart and there was still water there. So soaked that part out with a towel and put back in, turned on ac and in a few minutes kicked on like normal! Thank you!!!

    Thank you do much for sharing this info. Have seen a few of your videos and helped me in my issues. I cleaned my drain line on the my ac unit but the red light still on. But will be adjusting it as you did, think that will be my problem. Also watched one on the capacitors you made. Great breakdowns!!! Thank you again!!!

    Break red if you have a digital stat and no delay in the condenser Breaking yello can cause rapid short cycling -- frying the contactor or making a scroll run backwards. Most digita stats will delay plus some go blank and alert the customer

      And I'll just add that he's more than likely referring to ecobee or nest.. tstats that requires the a common. If it's a digital tstat thats ran off of batteries and not common.. break Y.

    I like all of those, except the hockey puck. It is very reliable, opens very early during a blockage. My only problems are there is no molex connector to remove for drying and drying takes too long if humidity is 90%+ like it is here all summer.
    One that I’ll never use again is an Aqua Guard AG-1250E. I found it burnt and melted in a plastic pan a month ago. Voltage still getting to contactor at heat pump, but no current flow. As soon as I went into the attic, I could smell burnt plastic. Very dangerous. The indoor coil had froze up and melted condensate bypassed the coil pan.
    Thanks for the great videos to keep all of us sharp.

    Craig, your videos how you explain everything is easy to unserstand. Wishi there was something like this 40 years ago when I started in the field. The only thing I can suggest is that a little red or green dye in the water would have made it easier to see the water level.

    my unit in the attic had an emergency pan of metal wherein the sides were folded upright from the bottom surface. the corners were supposed to be then sealed, but one was not. the drain tube got clogged and the condensate dripped into the pan and leaked out a corner. this was in july with high temperature and high humidity. the water puddled on top of the ceiling drywall and then leaked through a recessed light, several gallons!
    took an hour to diagnose the problems of the leak and the clog. and many hours to repair repaint the ceiling.

    With the CS-2 type switch, you should drop it below the evaporator pan so that the blower can’t pull water back out and not allow it to trip when there’s a drain blockage

    Very informative Craig, how bout doing a few mini split safety switches? I typically break R is there any benefits to breaking Y I figured by breaking R customer would know right away that nothing is working.

    Craig. How do I add oil to a compressor? The system uses R22 refrigerant. I’m trying to see a video but so far none close to what I need to see. My compressor uses mineral oil. Any type of mineral oil will do it?

    Can you please make a video on how to wire a secondary drain pan Rectorseal SS500EP and also how to wire it with a primary drain SS1 FLOAT Switch in series with a Rectorseal SS500EP.
    WE Use them alot in West Texas.

    I had my float switch fail so the contractor would not pull in but the inside fan would run. How would I determine that in the future and how common is it for a float switch to fail?

  • @The12stonesfan
    @The12stonesfan Год назад

    Hey Craig,
    so basically you wired the three in series because if at any point one of the three open it'll still shut off the outside condenser. I prefer to break red in my opninion, so it'll shut off everything

    My Wet Switch tripped twice in two days, with no water in sight. The A/C also quit blowing cool air. The inside (and outside) fans both work but only blows regular air temp. Is it a coincidence that this happened the same time the Wet Switch tripped (first time in the six years we've been here)? (I changed the capacitor, but that didn't fix it.) Any suggestions? My main question is could a malfunctioning Wet Switch cause the air not to be cool? What if it wasn't wired correctly? Here's how its wired: green+black>blue (from transformer) / red>red (from transformer) / yellow>dark blue / white>capped off. (2015 Daiken system)

    Just had a commercial unit flood the room beneath (over the weekend) it and cave in the drop ceiling because the safety switch failed. The service company didn’t put treatment tablets in the condensation pan so scum and debris had trashed the safety switch.

    I am in Toronto, Ontario and I never see PVC used for condensate or traps being installed. It is always just plastic tubing on a barbed fitting running to a drain. It seems this is more of an American style of condensate? Also no hvac stores sell condensate trap in Toronto that I have seen. very confusing for me lol

    • @tychoa.1960
      @tychoa.1960 Год назад

      You only need condensate traps where there is negative pressure. So if the evaporator is after the blower then you don't need a trap because the blower is pushing air out the drain.
