6lb leader is the standard I use most of the time

I haven't used lures, but I'm gonna start using lures. I bought many lures, but I haven't caught anything but a cold. I got no bites ever since I used lures. Any advice?

The last one is a yellowtail barracuda....looks like a pike but doesn't smell as bad hahaha.... Heaps around Manly

Live pike are the best big jewfish baits U can get they sit closer to the bottom in the current and the jewfish love sneaking up from behind way better than live squid or mullet and U can run lighter sinker
Jamie, I always hope to get one whilst chasing jewfish. One day it's gonna happen and I'll send one out. If it's better than live squid, I can't wait to see what would happen!
In low light conditions of can be favorable to use a black lure, for added contrast.

Great Video Shroom! Water clarity there can really make it hard as it is usually gin clear ! it is a massive contrast to the areas west of the Harbour bridge that's for sure .

Yep, I guess it's different wherever you Adrian, we have salt water pike here and barracuda. This one could be a barracuda too, not too common a catch and I'm not 100%. Nice one, they must be massive there!

It might help to put the jig on a small spinner, the vibration might trigger more strikes. I've tried this in the past on a local lake. Once I caught a turtle and a snake on the same night.

Also head into Pittwater .....

@Shroom Shroom - you will be the MR Beast of Sydney fishing within a year or so. Mate - you need to "Diversify" - and hit up all the "secret" spots around Sydney. From you neck of the woods, through to Pittwater, Hawkesbury, Cowan Creek, Apple tree Bay., the hit up North Head, Old Man's Hat, Blue Fish Point. Middle Harbour - Also in the next 3 months hit up Jerusalem Bay for Hairtail. Then hit up all around the Harbour- Balmoral - Roseville Bridge, Bobbin Head etc. The more place here in Sydney you go to - the MORE fisherman you will get subbing and watching your channel. You have a great channel mate - just keep doing it - what we want to see is HOW TO CATCH FISH USING DIFFERENT BAITS. So from dough, to prawns, to servo bait, to live yakka's, to best lures both soft and hard - then floats, etc...... In no time then you will have a million subs mate.
