I love the cedar trim on the maple plywood, beautiful contrast in the natural wood colors! Since you’re going to have open shelves above the countertop, I think it would be fine to leave the doors off the pantry. It’s so pretty, I wouldn’t want to close it off if it were in my kitchen. 👌👍💖
For your own sake Im glad you kept the pantry. The re-build looks great. Shelves arnt so wide that you lose sight of whats in the back row. Love them. Everything is coming together and looking great. Can hardly wait to see the island!

Fantastic, the great thing about adding a couple of inches in depth is that it allows your wife to double stack depth wise your old shelves left you with just enough space for plus a couple of inches for one item wasted space you nailed it! Great renovation to date!❤

Love your violin background music, full of the energy that mirrors your post. It’s the fiddly bites that will make this kitchen so perfect and personal for the family. Does that beautiful pantry really need doors - I don’t think so. Show it off, it’s genius and so practical and efficient. Keeping it open will guarantee you’ll keep it tidy and stocked. I am totally enjoying watching these renovations.

So enjoying the kitchen re-build video's. Lorraine won't know herself when it is complete, so much storage space and so much countertop space. I'm sure it will make homestead cooking, preserving, butchering etc so much easier.

Great call Ms Lorraine on the cedar trim. I listen to the podcast and yes, I'm over here saying, "Jason, use the Cedar." I worked in a cabinet shop for a while. I'm so happy to see cabinetry in the works. We had the specs, boards were cut, sanded/lacquered/stained/painted. For the rough exposed parts, we had this iron on wood material that we used. It was filed/sanded/stained/painted/lacquered. Then installed. Seeing it built on site is awesome. Great job Jason. Congratulations Ms Lorraine! On your new pantry!

Love the pantry shelves; I was wishing that you'd leave them open. No Doors! It is so pretty to glance & see all the ingredients, teas etc. Plus easier to grab what's needed & actually stays neater in the long haul.

If you line your shelves with washable wallpaper it will be easier to clean up any spills and keep the wood protected. And it can look good too. 😊😊 Great job!

I like the dado shelves. I like that the span is not so large so they won't bow in the middle. I like the green painted cabinets. It fits perfect. I like it trimmed out in cedar. It looks fantastic! It looks marvelous! Thanks for this video Contreras family!

Paint the old doors the same green as the cabinets to pull that color around the room. When you open the doors it will frame your beautifully built shelves.
