♪♫ May 6, 1978 - Foreigner debut on UK chart with “Feels Like the First Time”. The song reached No.39 in the UK and No. 4 in the USA on the Billboard Hot 100. ♪♫
16, in high school where EVERYONE is in love with (c)rap and hip hop, but im different baby!!! this is one of my all time favorite songs... FOREIGNER RULES!!
I saw Foreigner Saturday night For the second time. :) They were great. It's funny I told all my friend's I was going and they were like "Who is that???" All my friends listen to pop and rap...This 16 yr old has good taste in music :)
This song totally kicks ass and I consider it being one of Foreigner's best, what I love about this song is that it's a love song full of attitude and energy
Definitely a great underrated band that deserves to be as timeless as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, these guys had a string of great songs like this, "Juke Box Hero", "Double Vision", "Waiting For A Girl Like You", "I Want To Know What Love Is", "Cold As Ice", "Urgent" & "Hot Blooded"
Wasn't this song popular around 1977? Seems like I heard it when I just retired from the USAF. Loved it then - still LOVE it now!! Timeless. "Never again! It feels like the first time!!!" Wow, still a great song, even after all of these years. Can't take it! :-)
Thankyou very much champ, I think that the group is one of those that in the 80's were at the top of their game, & all else followed, trying to make it, but they still live on & I think that with Pink floyed, Eagels, & others re; to many to mention will live for ever. Thanks once again, i am still trying to work out how to watch my clips straight away instead of loading all the time waiting etc. Cheers Champ.
On this date in 1977 {Mar. 26th} "Feels Like The First Time" entered Billboard's Hot Top 100; eventually it would peaked at #4 and spent 22 weeks in the Top 100 Ranked 31st on the Billboard's Year-End Hot Top 100 Singles of 1977 chart. Reached #39 on the U.K. Singles chart. Was the group's debut record; if fact 4 out of 5 of their 1st releases made the Top 10; started with this one, then "Cold As Ice" {#6}, "Long, Long Way From Home" #20}, "Hot Blooded" {#3}, and finally "Double vision" {#2}.
great as always...luv u all.. see you then "after i spend my whole life time 'bout thinkin' my rly fist time (it was great) THANK YOU - FOREIGNER - 4 having a good time, since u pop up into my world ...!
I maybe young, and still in High School, but I do enjoy the classics, such as Foreigner, The Beatles, The Eagles, and so forth. But I still like some rappers like Eminem, Notorious B.I.G., Tupac, Nas, etc. I pretty much like the old school songs of most genres.
18 years old the first time I heard this song in 1976 broke up with a boyfriend. Every time I hear it good memories come back. Those days were amazing! Oh, me and the boyfriend got back together after a year and we've been married for 35 years now.
Classic rock perfection is Foreigner !!! Also , check out ," Doesn't Matter Where Or When ," an original rocking song and video on my site . Thanks , Adam Holtz
I heard this on the oldies station today. I guess the DJ's are getting too damn young. but they say the forties are the new thirties. Gives me another decade to do things better.
You can download most origninal videos from Vh1's website. I have downloaded and emailed some as well as posted them on Facebook. PBS soundstage has an incredible DVD Foreigner made last year -- available through PBS -- they so rocked out!! High Def and you can set it for either stereo or surround. If you want one with Lou Gramm -- Live @ Deer Creek is available on Amazon -- very good sound quality. Probably the best Lou and Mick versions ever recorded. SS features Kelly who is fabulous!
This song reminds me of this one girl who I've had a crush on back in high school and despite how much I've hated being in high school and me being having to be put in the same classroom as a bunch of students who I absolutely could not stand made me wanna drop out but I've gotten to have a friendship this girl and she inspired me to stay strong, be happy and finish school, I sometimes wonder what I'll be like today if it wasn't for this girl, fortunately I still talk to her on Facebook
Now we know where, the commonweath bank got there Trademark Sign for the Bank ? or at least the bloke that came up with the drawing anyway. Cheers ) Thanks for the Post of a good Qlty Version.
Memories-1970 Plymouth Duster(bright yellow),Mike,Mother Juggs and Speed,"The Rescue Squad" if any of this rings a bell(Mike)call me! One of our many songs-song says it all
I magically punched an old school radio in my friend's parents Ford station wagon the first time she was allowed to take her buddies on the nog spin yo Old Orchard Beach Maine. We lived in StinkTown a few miles away, but the timing was totally epic. I grew up in Los Angeles. The world mat has well ended the day I left, but I did meet some really good kids who tried to help me deal..
Without Lou Gramm "Foreigner" is no more. He was the best vocalist of any rock band in the late 70's, and early 80's. It's like "Journey" without Steve Perry, or "REO" without Kevin Cronin. Their new vocalist couldn't hold a candle to Gramm.
@CaptNemo100 I also really liked Ed Gagliardi's stage presence and thought the live shows were better when he was part of the band, I also prefer Lou Gramm's hairstyle from the early albums
Great song, I sometimes wonder how great Foreigner would have been if the original lineup had stayed together in the 80s, I personally thought the Jones-Gramm-McDonald-Greenwood-Gagliardi-Elliott era was the best, too bad Mick Jones had to kick out Ed Gagliardi in late 1978 and Ian McDonald and Al Greenwood in late 1980.
Foreigner hit #4 in Billboard, 6-18-77. God bless ya, brother Lou Gramm! Thanx for postin' it.

I saw them with Def Lep in concert... Foreigner should have been the headline act. They absolutely BLEW Def Lep out of the water.

I don't know that Jesse's voice was better but he sings it with more conviction. It really resonates. Jesse definetly did it better.
I knew this song before Pitch Perfect. But Pitch Perfect brought me BACK to it.
