This is one of my absolute favorite German dish I grew up eating along side the German cucumber salad! My father was 100% German born and raised in Berlin! He passed away last year sadly and whenever I start to miss him deeply, I make a wholesome German meal! Danka ❤️ 🇩🇪

Firstly, your videos are never to long. For those of us who have experienced Swedish meatballs I think this is the sauce that we always wished was served with them. A brilliant flavour explosion that will require some bread to sop up the leftover gravy. Everyone should bookmark the link to this mushroom gravy recipe as it would be wonderful with steak, chicken, pork tenderloin, pork sausage and even traditional meatballs. #Gravy #Mushrooms #Sauce #Dinner

It has been 41 years since I was stationed in Germany. I loved haveing Schnitzel when I was over there. But because I wasn't very hip on mushrooms back then I never ordered Jagerschnitzel. I think that I am ready now. At 71 returning to Germany with a digital camera in hand is on my bucket list. But until then I may have to try this recipe myself.

During a discussion about German cuisine in relation to other European dishes I had expressed a low opinion of German food after tasting sauerbraten. A friend of mine suggested I not judge all of German cuisine by one bad experience and she suggested I try jagerschnitzel. Well, after searching for a recipe I came upon yours and made it. It was phenomenally delicious. My sweetie enjoyed it as well. I served it with your Swabian spaetzle and green beans. Thank you for opening my eyes to a great dish. I am looking forward to exploring more of the recipes on your web page.

That's wonderful to hear! I'm so glad you enjoyed the jagerschnitzel and that it changed your opinion of German cuisine. It's definitely true that one bad experience shouldn't define an entire cuisine, and I'm glad your friend suggested giving it another chance. I'm thrilled that my recipe worked out well for you and your sweetheart.
Thank you for giving my recipe a try and for exploring my web page. I hope you find more recipes that you enjoy and that they continue to open up new and delicious culinary experiences for you! And if you run into questions, I am always happy to help.

It’s not like Italian Food or French. But I think German Cuisine is underestimated.
Kässpätzle, Maultaschen, Kartoffelsalat (potato Salad), Black Forest Cake or Streetfood like Currywurst or Döner Kebab.
      Much more!

My all time favourite when stationed in Lahr back in early 80s. Usually had with fried spatzle and salat, sometimes pommes frites. Didn’t mind having a couple of beers (Reigler Export) waiting to be served😊

Thank you for the video, I love schnitzel and had the wonderful opportunity to stay in a bed and breakfast along the Rhine when I was younger. All I knew was that I loved schnitzel and ordered that for my dinner and was surprised when it arrived with a brown mushroom gravy. I had only had the plain type with a wedge of lemon to squeeze on it, but I was blown away with how tasty it was with the mushroom gravy sauce. Watching this brought back some very pleasant memories of that trip :)

At the risk of being blasphemous: My partner dislikes the mouth feel of mushrooms. Could I perhaps blend the final sauce, without sacrificing flavour?
I would probably reserve 1/3 of the cooked mushrooms for myself, as I love them.

    • @AllTastesGerman
      @AllTastesGerman  2 года назад +1

Actually, I think that is a great idea, pretty sure that would work without sacrificing the flavor. I know quite a lot of people who dislike the mouth feel of mushrooms and will pass on your fabulous idea.

My husband is a huge lover of Schnitzel with Mushroom Sauce (Mushrooms in) but Jager, not so much.
This will be an effort during November and I’ll just not tell him about the Jager….
He had Schnitzel and Mushroom sauce in a German restaurant in Oklahoma (the restaurant is still there but it’s been a couple of decades since he’s eaten there and the cooks have likely changed).
He is not satisfied with any other Schnitzel…
We’ll see how he reacts to this.I might do it for Thanksgiving.

You know Jäger is just german for hunter, right? Thats just what the mushroom sauce is called in german.
Because it sounded like youre talking about adding Jägermeister to the sauce...

My first attempt was a disaster. I got info from some other youtube channel and it just didn't work out for me.
This was my second attempt at Jagerschnizel with my favorite, brown gravy. This time I followed your instructions.
It turned out beautifully if I do say so myself. Every bite was followed with "Mmmmmm, OMG!"
Thank you for making the instructions so easy to follow. I just need someone to clean up my dishes ;-). No, it really wasn't that messy at all. I cheat and use paper plates and bowls.

You name sounds interesting, you know„Wittelsbacher“, similar to habsburger monarchy.
And South, especially southwest Germany has French influence, look at the food „Flammkuchen“
And we eat Schnitzel in Bavaria too, similar to Austrian cuisine.

I just made Jagerschnitzel for my family this evening. I breaded the cutlets😱.
I think we’re ok though. We live in the middle of a desert in Arizona, USA and nobody knows I did that😂
However, we did decide skip the breading in the future, so I secretly think you’re right.

Oh, one more thing. I did not have nor could find in the store any beef stock, so I got a package of McCormick brown gravy powdered mix. Since that had flower already, I skipped the flower part. Everything else was just as you said.
