- In this special inaugural trip report, I fly on board an Advanced Air Dornier328Jet from Oakland Intl. up to Crescent City, California at the very top of the state, and then back down to Hawthorne, which is located only 4 miles away from MUCH larger LAX Airport.

A lot of first and unique aspects in this video... First Advanced Air flight to Crescent City, as well as Oakland. The NEW longest Dornier328Jet flight in the United States, the longest nonstop flight within the state of California!

Great flight, amazing views, even better snacks, and of course the fun of being on two of the only nine DoJet flights in the country
What a fun video. Different perspective from the bigger airports. The Dornier is a little cutie, too.
The ATC radio is awesome. Thank you. Keep that
I try to add it when it’s available, surprised it was for a city this small
Excellent video. I'm thinking about flying them to Las Vegas from Hawthorne.
Through Merced?
awesome video. it was great to meet you in OAK! the views on the right were so great, you did the right thing sitting in the back :)
Nice meeting you too! I loved the back, how was the view up front?
it was great! but the engine was in my way :)@@GerardiAviation
@@jss.42 aw man! Usually the very front gets you in front of the engine
I was lucky to fly on a Dornier 328JET years ago when ACA (Delta) operated some routes out of Cincinnati. The Dornier is a pleasant riding little jet. An exotic type for the log book. Another outstanding trip report.
Thank you! I absolutely love the DoJet and it’s sad it’s down to under 10 routes in the US, this tail number actually flew for ACA in the past, so you may have even been on this exact plane!
British AIrways (Sun Air) flies the Dornier 328JET into London City from small cities in Denmark. They feature full meal and bar service. You might enjoy riding one of these and experience their service. Plus you get to fly into London City.
😯 that’s a good idea, I’ll have to try that. Know what routes they do out of City?

Very nice! Enjoyed this trip report. Very interesting to see a trip report to the northern border of California. Also interesting that approach to Hawthorne has the same approach profile to LAX.
Thank you! I think this is the first trip report I’ve seen from CEC, if I had been on the right side of the plane going into Hawthorne I probably would’ve seen stuff going into LAX
Looks like an awesome flight! I liked the path over downtown Los Angeles. I'd love to be able to get on a Dornier 328 again.
It was a fun flight! If you’d like to get on the DoJet in the US, you have 9 opportunities to do so ✈️
Unfortunately, I'm in the midwest. I wish they'd come over here. I probably asked this before, but what's the difference in price vs other airlines?
I was lucky enough to get two flights for a short distance on a Dornier 328 for a benefit thing at my local airport. They took us for a cool ride around my area. Only got to 3000 or so feet AGL. They got us to that altitude very quickly compared to normal flights. It was pretty cool.
@@aspireman I’m on the east coast so it’s even further. But… they are creeping further east!
@@aspireman they are cheaper, as it’s EAS subsidies fund the flights, it makes them cheaper
Have you flown the Do Jet to Telluride yet on DAC?
Not yet, but I really want to but it’s so expensive. It’s not an EAS route, so it’s unsubsidized
@@GerardiAviationDen-Tex-PHX is the only Non- Eas route in their network, though they’re trying to expand their EAS operations.
