I'm the founder of the Kalaweit Foundation (www.kalaweit.org) in Borneo and Sumatra, taking care right now of more than 300 gibbons, etc... We are 80 employees, including 6 vets, guards, keepers, etc... We rescued, translocated, rehabilitated and released thousand of primates and other animals in the last 22 years in Indonesia. This video has been made the day of the rescue, before the baby got the chance to be send to our sanctuary on the second day. This is not reflecting any rehab process, only the condition of this baby just after the rescue. At night a keeper always stay with him.

The people I have seen or spoke with that work in these rehab facilities have such beautiful loving hearts. Not just because they are so dedicated in caring for the animals. It is also because of their willingness and ability to be unconditionally unselfish, putting the animal's needs and life first by releasing them into the wild when the animal is ready. I imagine that would be incredibly difficult considering the bonds they develop. But rewarding as well knowing they helped return an animal to its natural environment, giving it a 2nd chance at life in the wild where it belongs.
What is so remarkable about them? Anyone would want a job like that.
@@Astyanaz There are plenty of people out there that would not be compatible with a job like this. There are those out there who's motives arw purely selfish. These animals can sell for a hefty price even though it is illegal. Also rehabbing an animal takes a lot of time and energy and resources. It is an emotional rollercoaster. Watching animals die, lose their homes, and arrive severely traumatized from years of mistreatment. And you continue to see similar cases time and time again. No matter how hard they work to educate others and rehab and release, new cases continue to arrive. It can be overwhelming and disheartening. And resources to help are not always adequate or readily available. Not everyone is cut out for a job like that. It looks like a great job from the outside looking in but once in the reality people realize quickly that there is a lot more to it and it is a huge commitment. These are some special people that deserve every word of praise they receive and more.

I can't understand why ppl can't just enjoy nature as it is. There's so much beauty in just sitting back and observing. Thanks to all that try to help keep nature alive and help to restore all animals back to their natural habitat.

Then release any pet you have at your place, like...now! No excuses, because all animals need to be in their natural habitat!
G.Phillips, yes I would agree other than animals that have actually been bred domesticated over thousands of years. Wild animals like monkeys’ natural habitat is the wild, but a bred domesticated animal does not have the skills to survive in the wild as those instincts are significantly bred out of it at this point. Monkeys have never been domesticated - regardless of if they are raised from birth in a human home it will take many years to actually domesticate the species if it could even ever be done. This is unlike dogs and cats for whom certain breeds have been domesticated for many years now to the point that they would never survive outside of a human home.

Certains humains ne respectent pas la vie, surtout celle des plus petits, des plus fragiles. Certains autres font tout ce qu'ils peuvent pour les sauver et réparer les dommages commis par les destructeurs! Chanee fait partie des bienfaiteurs de la Nature!
