    I'd recommend studio versions if you've never heard the song. People recommend live versions because they love the band, but studio versions are more suitable for new ears.

      It's tough to react to them, though, because I think their copyright is super intense.

      Absolutely agree, although Reckoner is beautiful and detailed no matter what version you use. But I'd always go studio first time in a song.

      Radiohead was taken to the next level when Jonny joined the band and they admit it. The guy is a master of dynamics and control that makes you think "How the fukk does he do that?!". An indie guitar GOD!

    • @antdujar
      @antdujar 5 лет назад

      I saw them at MSG back in July and they did not disappoint at all. Because I've watched all their lives sets so much aside from their albums. I knew which song was gonna pop off just by the single note or colors of the lights alone! Truly a great band! And tool and Radiohead just go places musically that touch all aspects that are just as vulnerable and just as epic.

    Absolutely no one does melancholy like Radiohead. Some of the most interesting musicians out there. Always inventive, always evolving. Also, 'this person right here' is Johnny Greenwood. Aside from being the lead guitarist and keyboardist of Radiohead, he's a composer. He's written scores for a bunch of movies including There Will Be Blood, Phantom Thread, Inherent Vice, A Wrinkle in Time and more.

    Love that your doing all this 90's alternative rock. . . some of the most creative thought provokeing music came from this era. . May i recomend Nine Inch Nails "Were is everybody" or Head Like A hole. . .the beats alone will pull u rite in.

    Pyramid Song - Radiohead Your man with the black hair, aka Johnny Greenwood, plays the guitar with a bow like he’s playing a cello in this song. It’s fucking awesome. Also, that’s his brother, Colin Greenwood, on the bass if you’re interested.

    Great reaction. A lot of people are a little confused when they first listen to Radiohead, but their music haunts you. It's different - unigue...strange. They're an acquired taste but once you get it (which I think you were starting too), you can fall in love. Not every one gets Radiohead, but so many people really do, and develop a deep love for their music. They're weird, but good weird. They're fabulous and this iis a great, classic song. Thanks for reacting to it.
    I love your reactions. You're tied with Soul Train Bro for my favorite reactor. You're open-minded and accepting. I love that. You know good music.

    Radiohead is my favorite band. Watching you watch them and experience them for the first time reminded me of the first time I heard what would become on of my favorite albums and gave me immense joy. I love music and I especially love people who are open minded enough to listen to music of all genres. I think it says a lot about how cool of a person you are that you listen and share so many different styles and genres with others. There is so much great music out there to listen to. I hope you continue to find great joy and fun in listening. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.

    The greatest? Some say the Beatles, some say led Zeppelin, some say Pink Floyd, some say Radiohead. All could rock all experimented and pushed their sound and music to its limits. Lovely stuff to be blessed with

    Please don’t let this be your only exposure to Radiohead. Please listen to the studio version of this song or literally pick any other song from this album. It doesn’t matter which one, the entire album is amazing. Also the song fake plastic trees because it’s beautiful in all the best ways.

    Anything from Radiohead's Live at the Basement recordings is pure live gold. Even if it's not for a video I promise you will not be disappointed. Ok Computer, Kid A, Amnesiac, Hail to the Thief, King of Limbs and In Rainbows are must listen albums for any music lover imho. For me Radiohead is on par with Tool as far as interesting musicality, depth and their ability to give you sonic orgasms.

      Yes. There's no way he's not going to appreciate FNM! :)
      .... but where to start tho? Epic? Falling to Pieces? Midlife Crisis? I'm not into giving someone We Care A Lot for their first FNM- you get caught in the weeds explaining history of the band...!

      badm0t0rf1nger i was thinking Ashes to Ashes to draw him in. Then maybe The Gentle Art of Making Enemies and Just A Man.

    • @badm0t0rf1nger
      @badm0t0rf1nger 6 лет назад

      Interesting that you're going with later material. I got the 2-disc version of Album of the Year wit the remixes, so I'll have to listen to the straight version of Ashes to Ashes to remind myself..... Ah yes, I like the vibe it's got, & it's soundly-crafted, but none of the band are having to *try* on it, if you know what I mean? The remixes are arguably more interesting.
      Gentle Art is undeniable imo, but is it the right thing to offer up as someone's first look at FNM?
      I'm still thinking something early from The Real Thing or Angeldust that has a groove & a dose of Patton's "fcuk you" going on, would be the best idea.
      Right, it's just given me goosebumps *again*.... I know it's 8mins, but I'm voting for The Real Thing :)

      i'd agree they're mainstream, though for audiences into current or radio friendly music bands like Tool, Radiohead and Pink Floyd are good gateways to Prog, Fusion, Alternative, Psychedelic & Heavy forms of rock. Sorta like how Metallica, Iron Maiden & Megadeth are good gateway bands into the metal scene.
