- This is the third part of a series of videos showing you how to get your AtGames Legends Ultimate Arcade cabinet set up with the new third party developed app of CoinOPS X. CoinOPS has a reputation for being one of the best front ends for any sort of PC emulation, and it has now made its way to the Legends Ultimate!

Getting things to run on this cabinet is very labor intensive. Hats off to AtGames for allowing for this functionality from 3rd parties, but could you imagine if they had design it to make this kind of stuff easy?

CoinOPS X look great, but thinking of not bothering due to the requirement to login every 5 sessions. Wish AtGames either didn't require that, or it would stay logged in like most apps these days.

Other than having a nicer interface, is there a big difference between CoinOPS X and Addon X? Also, what has changed between now and since this video was released?
Can CoinOPS X play games that Addon X can't? I have been trying to get Gauntlet Legends to work, but to no avail.

I don't have a CoinOps build on my PC so I don't have all the artwork readily available. You said it's going to be easier if you have the build but then didn't give an alternative if you don't. Where can I get the artwork?

I just stream my CoinOp Builds & Steam games through the Arcadenet link to the Legends Ultimate with the local P.C. streaming. Then all my Add On Games are already on thumb drives, just plug & play. For those who have problems streaming with the Arcadenet Link App I guess this is the way to go then. Thumbs up to atgames for adding more ways to play your favorite games on the Legends Ultimate!!
Isn't there lag with arcade net?
Video title is all wrong - should say "How to play retro games the hard way on your atgames legends cabinet". Basically lots of work for just a cleaner menu. The UCE's are a pain too, the Pi route via USB is way simpler. With that said I applaud Atgames for adding new features that the others don't even come close to having.

Not exactly. During beta testing we tried that. Turns out the name needs to match the internal cartridge.xml file which is matched to the uce name. Changing the uce name won't change the internally stored name unfortunately so you end up with errors
Is there a way to add bezels specifically with CoinopsX, without having to add them via the AddOnX tool for every single ROM? Also, do any of the PC sorting methods work on the Legends Ultimate with CoinopsX, or do you just have to stick with the generic vertical A through Z list it currently has? The PC versions have some really nice sorting methods, especially with genres.
Also, you might already know this by now, but you don't have to make the artwork have "AddOn_" in front of it. The only thing that matters is that the artwork name matches the ROM name. It's a lot faster to just rename the ROM once instead of having to rename the cover, marquee, logo and video for every game.

Latest firmware knocked out my existing coinops x usb drive....please help, want to get back to using my usb coinops
I followed every step. I have the games on my USB stick and can play them with AddOnX. For some reason I dont get the CoinOps option on my Ultimate Arcade. What am I doing wrong?
I'm new to this this is great my cab comes in this month I will be doing this would be nice to download one ready but who needs 7000 games pick 100 best games and call it a day it might get tedious with counsel games though thanks

How do you save favorite games to shortcut having to go through the whole list of games?

So I got coinops to work with the games. I have no artwork or videos. I copied all the files to my memory stick. What am I doing wrong?
To much work. If you share all your folders somewhere I can copy the pictures from there. I don’t have coinops on my computer.

Its free, you do not need to pay to play. Just sign into your account is all.

@@retropug correct. I personally have not built anything but I do know the someone on the coinops discord was about half done a build aiming for about 1000 titles. Process would be the same, download extract and dump on usb and launch.

Wait !! So you have to convert the ROMs first into uce in order to use CoinOpsX ?!
Well you need uce files for the cabinet and coinops uses those uce files.

Start button acts as coin and start

So you will need to delete the UCE file, then go in each of the art work folders and delete the corresponding art for the game too

@@danilohoffman9414 yep assuming you can plug your USB into it. :) you will also need to rescan the usb with the addonx tool to update the game lists

This doesn't work for larger CoinOps builds... I think 128 GB is the max size USB stick this machine can handle. Mentioned nooooowhere in the tutorial.
Actually it works up to 256 i have build i am running its 213gb working fine
Why would you not just name the UCE “1944” when you create it instead of renaming all those other files.
It's more complicated then that. Its not the uce name that's matched, it's the internal game name that's matched in the cartridge.xml file. Once a uce is created, it takes the internal name and places it as the name you see labeled on the UCE. So essentially changing the name of the UCE, wouldn't work as far as we could tell in testing. At least it was not working in the beta version I had.
Restalgia yeah that’s why I tried to word it as created but I guess if you have to recreate the whole UCE then it doesn’t really save time

@@Restalgia Hey Restalgia, try it again on the released firmware. Matching the UCE to art names (and rerunning the AddOnX tool of course) works fine for me in the CoinOpsX and AddOnX apps. Awesome content man, keep it coming!
Anyone has a good source on how to install coinops?
In the coinops x tile there is a 0 at the bottom left corner. Do you know what that means? Yesterday it had a 5.

That is too much work. I wish you could just transfer the whole coinops next folder. I can’t imagine to do that to all 7000 plus arcade games that I have for the Coinops. 😩
well you can stream from PC as an alternate. I have seen SF4 running on Legends Ultimate
