The SP is amazing value, without doubt, especially with the extra goodies bolted on. It's just the colour choices for the SP that I'm, personally, not keen on. Honestly, just what is the attraction for matt colours of late? They look as if someone in a garden shed has used a rattle can. Horrible. Other than that, this looks fantastic and it looks as if Honda have put the cat amongst the pigeons as far as the Suzuki GSX-1000S is concerned. A Honda that's cheaper than a Suzuki! Blimey! 😳 It's a proper Hornet with the correct number of cylinders, too! Yay! 😊 Excellent overview once again, young Daniel. 👍
I love how you do your test rides out on the normal roads, I don't mind the other ones that are in another country with Honda but they obviously pick nice roads etc
Yeah to be fair all press launches try to find the best roads in Europe. I get why they do it. But I only have wet, muddy, pot holed roads to choose from here! Thanks!
Have had the pleasure of seeing two of the SP versions in the flesh at my Honda dealer, boy are they gorgeous, when I test rode the GB350S yesterday 30.01.25. Very good looking bikes and your video shows fully the thrill ready to be delivered. Wishing you well and safe journeys.
Wow, thirty years ago we were paying this sort of money for litre sized bikes without fuel injection, traction control or ABS. Honda will sell these by the bucket load and deserve to. Thanks for the review Dan 👍
Tough call on the SP vs base model. SP offers a lot of value. But everyone says the base is already good - and why not have the best deal possible on your budget bargain bike? Luckily for me, as an American, the decision is already made... I can't have either one. Lol. (Hope they bring it here soon.)
Very good review of the new hornet 1000 and I agree the exhaust system has to much sound proofing you might have to change it if you’re buying one but I do like the colour of the bike very good video
Hope it comes to USA , this is a dream bike for the affordable $ . Great deal on the sp , with all the upgrades! Thank u for the great review. Rider from Houston Texas , wow great sounding bike. Comfortable up right position 😊
So Girthy…. That’s what she said. :) I have the 2019 CB1000R Naked and that motor is buttery smooth and has an old school cable clutch too. Cheers from just south of Vancouver CDN
I've gone for the Red base model. Just waiting for the quick shifter to be fitted and I'm sure someone will unlock that extra power with an after market exhaust.
It is similar in price with the Street Triple 765 R/RS, how does it compare? Is adding 20kg worth the extra 20hp? Or is the triple just way more agile for the road?
Good review. That SP is 'nicer' but I guess the extra 5bhp will be beyond road usage, stylemas look good but Nissins always work sell, ohlins again looks good but as I'm lazy I seldom play if it seems good enough. And the red standard one looks very good - better colour than the SP black imo. Hints at Ducati SF, but more as the modern styling fashion than looks just like an SF imo. Tempted. Especially at less than 9k
I don't think you even need to be prepared and know the "stats" to review a bike like this, everbody already knows all the stats, we just want to know if it's as good as it sounds on paper.
Its incredible for the price. What no review has said is its a low end litre bike, a safe litre bike. Its no MT-10. But theyre purposely avoiding that for sales...clever.
a question for you given the option would you buy a 2022 Ducati panigale V2 or a brand new hornet 1000 the reason for asking is that the Ducati panigale V2 second hand is about 10 thousand pounds similar money 💰 to the hornet 1000 and the engine power but the Ducati might be a higher spec bike but they have similar engine performance so they are worth looking into and testing both motorbikes
You were saying that the hornet 1000 had no quick shifter on the bike in the video that’s actually an option you can add for that model of bike and the upgraded exhaust is another one you should try and get one with those options and see what you think of the bike on a longer test ride in another video
Where i live, they don't allow to try most of the litter bikes, is the gas jerky? I had that issue on the GSX S750 a lot and it was quite annoying. Also, would you spend 4 grand more for the CB1000R? or a bit more for a tuono V4 or MT10?
Bigger engine in the Hornet. The 2025 Z900 has increased mid range over the 2024 model and shorter gearing making it noticably more punchy while accelerating. Both great bikes. Try them both.
The sales of the gsx-s 1000 are gonna fall of the cliff. Speaking of which, it's been a while since you've done that review but how do they compare? On paper the engine performance looks similar, id expect the handling to be better judging by all the raving reviews of the SP version.
I love Honda but here in South Africa the pricing for bikes is out of the world especially for Honda The hornet 750 is nice but this is the sound I like inline 4😅🎉
Why do so many bikes have such tiny pillion seats, if my wife sat on that she would have to have it surgically removed. Apart from that the bike looks lovely
Yeah it's a joke really for people who want 1 bike to do a few things on. The old Hornet 900 was more practical but modern bikes = Pseudo sports bikes (most of the impracticality due to the styling like small mudguards and sharp small tails but without extreme ergos), Smaller fuel tanks, impractical pillion accommodations, things like centre stands are obviously not considered anymore. Many modern nakeds are only good for A-B commuting solo, the odd longer trip, a weekend toy, that's about it. I think that's why ADV bikes sell more now than ever.
Booked a Hornet and MT09 test ride on the same day next week in Bransons. The MT09 currently has quite a bit of money off making it not much more than the standard hornet. Be interesting to see which I prefer and if either are worth the upgrade on my current hornet 750 which I've been told won't be worth a lot in PX already 😕
Great price and the SP version might be an even better value! But Honda, a neutered white paint job, AYFKM? Default color should be YELLOW and BLACK obviously. Honda, there's more than just white, black, grey, and red paint. Even if white looks good in person, it seems like they forgot to paint the bike.
That exhaust sounds a lot better than i expected
Yep, at least it sounds a lot better than it looks!
Great review Dan, good isn't it!
Crazy good! Blew me away! Loved your vid, sounded like you had a bit more prep time than I did :D
Ooh friends 😂
I gather you are buying one Lambo?
I rode one today and im putting down a deposit tomorrow on the sp. Just need a comfort seat
@@drawwithdan5821he already has ordered an sp

Great vid Dan! Between yourself and Chopsy, I'm drooling looking at your vids. I may have to try one of these soon.
Great bike and great review, saw them at motorcycle live and love the white one. For 9k you really can’t go wrong.
The white paint scheme is lovely in person!
Love the red one so thanks for including that footage.

Thanks Dave!
Looks beautiful. I'd probably want the SP because it exists and is such a bargain. But I don't think you'd be disappointed with the standard model.
thinking about getting the 500 for my A2 next year. Very, very excited, especially after seeing so many great videos of the 1000
I had a 500 hornet curtesy bike the the day. It was brilliant, super fun power not scary power.
Wow, thirty years ago we were paying this sort of money for litre sized bikes without fuel injection, traction control or ABS. Honda will sell these by the bucket load and deserve to. Thanks for the review Dan 👍
Yeah, the value is world beating. And from Honda no less. Will wonders never cease.. (CFmoto on suicide watch)

Also like it in red or white better than black. Might tip me in the direction of the base model. If I had a choice that is.
Great little vid Dan, how you remember all those specs so well is awesome!
Can't wait to get my lanky legs over one!
I forgot a few haha!
Great review all straight forward an excellent bike at an amazing price 😊
Must admit I like it (apart from the can). About time Honda made an interesting bike!!
Honda are making some great value machines lately.
It's going to be very interesting to see just how many they sell. Prospective buyers might have to be patient, I think.
Great review Dan certainly looks a great motorbike at such a good price.
Very good review of the new hornet 1000 and I agree the exhaust system has to much sound proofing you might have to change it if you’re buying one but I do like the colour of the bike very good video
6:00 Dan was like the man from del monte :)
Also how did you white bike turn red ? 😂 6:10
And my hair grew! :D
I wish this was coming to Canada, please Honda make it happen!!!
It is coming to Canada, i ordered the CB750 Hornet 2025 matte black and it's supposed to arrive by the end of March/April . Im in Québec.
Great Video Dan, however, to me that definitely looks like a span adjustable front brake lever.
Hope it comes to USA , this is a dream bike for the affordable $ . Great deal on the sp , with all the upgrades! Thank u for the great review. Rider from Houston Texas , wow great sounding bike. Comfortable up right position 😊
It’s not 😢

My dream litre bike ❤
How do you like driving these Dunlop tires?
It is similar in price with the Street Triple 765 R/RS, how does it compare? Is adding 20kg worth the extra 20hp? Or is the triple just way more agile for the road?
How it feels compare to the gsx s1000? Thanks!
Nice one, Dan. No one has yet reported on if they’re assembled in the Thai or Japanese factory. Any idea?
This would make a brilliant sports tourer with a few changes.
Nah, better to get a Kawasaki 1100SX SE for sport touring.
Love the editing for speeding moments, just switch to stillshots of the bike hahahaha
I don't know what you mean officer . . . :D

Pretty much haha

Shame you can't get the SP in red, but I still like it.
How does it compare the the Suzuki GSXS1000?
Power!!!! Shame the roads were soaked! That IL4 omg!!! The sound!!! Definately needs an exhaust. 🚀🚀
Where i live, they don't allow to try most of the litter bikes, is the gas jerky? I had that issue on the GSX S750 a lot and it was quite annoying.
Also, would you spend 4 grand more for the CB1000R? or a bit more for a tuono V4 or MT10?
Is it bigger than the z900? I want this one or a 2024 z900, they are al great sale at my local dealer
Bigger engine in the Hornet. The 2025 Z900 has increased mid range over the 2024 model and shorter gearing making it noticably more punchy while accelerating. Both great bikes. Try them both.
Would you take one over the Triumph 800 if you could only have a single bike?
Yes.
I reckon I’d only ever use 3rd & 4th with that much torque. Think I’d bravely take the 750 instead.
Nice to see a normal person on it and not an over paid journalist kissing the manufacturer's bum for a free holiday 😉😉😉
Overpaid journalists !😂😂😂
Do you think upgrading from a cb650r to this is worth it?
Oh yes!
@@Englishbikerdan I put my 2016 CB650F on sale for that reason 🙂

9k in the uk, 12k in nl. sad stuff.
Thoughts on this vs. the new Z900? UK pricing on the Hornet is crazy good. In Canada, the '25 Hornet SP is $4k more than the Z900 SE.
Very trmpted by the SP version of this bike
They could make different variants like Suzuki did with their new 800 cc engines. At the price Honda could take over the market!
Would you choose it over the MT09, assuming they cost the same? (Yamaha will have to drop their price)
Hard to say, the reality is the MT09 is £1100 more expensive. IF they were the same price, I would be very tempted by an MT09 though.
@@Englishbikerdan Yeah, list prices are getting less and less relevant these days.
There are some already offered with 1k off.
I think you should compare with 2025 Kawasaki z900
Naturally, I just need to get my hands on a Z900 now. They will be here in March.
Great video but its Lamb chops sloppy seconds 😂. Got a SP on order due delivery in March. Can't wait!
Haha we'll see!
I wouldn't say it looks beautiful, just OK and a shame the SP doesn't come in the red. Great price!
Buy one 😁
Okay! :D
Leave the exhaust pipe on. Less likely to get stolen.
I love Honda but here in South Africa the pricing for bikes is out of the world especially for Honda
The hornet 750 is nice but this is the sound I like inline 4😅🎉
I’d get the Red or buy a white SP and get it painted Red.
Nice!
The SP only comes in Matt Black.
@ We can fix that- no problem.
speedo is in mph or kmh?
Miles in England.
Why do so many bikes have such tiny pillion seats, if my wife sat on that she would have to have it surgically removed. Apart from that the bike looks lovely

Not to mention the pathetic front fender! Unsuitable for Britain.

Just to be differant, I'm buying a GSXS 1000
Even though it has been around for years and years?
I don't think you could go wrong with either. For me it's between CB1000, GSXS1000 and MT09.
