ULTIMATE GUIDE To ARM SIZE (How Big Can You Get Naturally? How Big are MY Arms? Biggest Arms Ever?)

  • This video is a sort of journey through history, as arms grew from 15 inches being impressive enough to get you into a mythic organization to 17-18 inches being competitive, into the high teens and low twenties, then finally the era of the synthol arms pushing measurements into the high twenties and low thirties.
Many people inflate arm measurements, but the reality is that 16 inches is quite good, 17 is excellent, 18 is amazing and 19 is superb for a natural bodybuilder in decent condition and unpumped.
Someone with superb genetics might be able to get a 20 or so inch arm with a pump at a higher body fat percentage naturally, but a lean 20 inch unpumped arm is the holy grail.

Really... ive a little more than 16 inches, 41 cm, and i think im really small... but im not really that lean around 15bf (1.90m tall and weight fluctuates between 90 to 95 in cut/bulk). Im leaner than you... but not that much.
Bro you are you real... that make me kinda happy. Im training for 1 and half year. and im a old guy im mid 30s.
And my last 3 test exams was around 430 ( was skinny fat, around 28 bf only in the belly, kinda depressive, after a divorce and spend 1 year and 3 months eating burgers and beer, that was my diet for a little bit than a year) 690 3 months of star training, 702 2 months ago,

Height makes a huge difference as well. If you’re 5’4 with 16” arms they will look impressive but if you’re 6’2 with 16” they will look good but not as impressive as the 5’4 guy.

It depends on when Arnold was measured. Why would he lie about his peak condition measurements when any idiot could ask him to prove it and put a tape to them. But go off the roids and ease off on the training for a month and of course they will drop in size, especially with Arnold because we was a lean body type to begin with. Drop 25 lbs of muscle and he loses 2.5 inches off his biceps. Go back on roids and train for Olympia, and gain back all that muscle again.
You are downplaying their top condition measurements by referring to measurements taken when not in peak condition.
You don't understand how fast those roids worked back in the day. Arnold's mass building roid regiment worked in a few months. He would gain everything back with D-bo and Deca, and then harden up with Premobolin Acetate, winstrol, and anavar for about 4 weeks.

    • @johnspartan98
      @johnspartan98 Год назад +1

@@typedeaf Yep, and it's harder to fill out those biceps on long arms. I pushed my arms to 20 plus inches at 60 years old without steroids.
I was only on roids for a few cycles back in 1980-81. Between cycles the psych effects were too much for me so I quit roids and went natural ever since.
18-19+ is possible without roids. I had 18 1/2 in arms before I ever knew about roids. The roids pushed my arms a bit, but I was dieting down so what I lost was replaced with muscle and gave me a hardier look without much size increase on the tape.
Most guys overtrain and don't get enough D3.
D3 works like a pro hormone. It's very important to muscle function and gains.
Buffered Creatine, BCAA's, N.0. enhancers work similar to roids too. It's also better for you.

I was a gym-goer since late 2018 to march 2020 (all natural in the true sense, not even creatine).
-Started with 36cm/14.17inch flabby arms (take the fat away more in the 13's)
-Pre-covid, march 2020 got to 46cm/18.11inch (6 days biceps, 4 days triceps, mass building workouts)
-Since march 2020, haven't attended gym, only working out at home with rubber bands and some dumbells,
dropped to 42.5cm/16.73inch and on 0 carbs for full shred.
All measurements done correctly, square and tensioned tape, arm to the side, flexing.

    • @KenanTurkiye
      @KenanTurkiye 3 года назад

....ohh my daily workload ranged between 50k-62k kg/110k-136k lbs per day.
Arm workout for example for triceps extentions included, cable full stack (70kg) + another 40kg plates on top, biceps hammer curls was at 30kg per side, seated concentration curl was at 27.5kg per side, these are just examples, end of the session I would get roughly half a second cognitive lag up until midnight when growth hormone was released with rest (natural bodies own cycladic growth hormone), so yeah, it was hard. ;)

You dont even know my height to evaluate what I said. :) Shows a lack of depth in these issues. Thats ok, you; especially you dont have to believe me. I not after impressing someone, just wanted to make people question of their limits and whether if their training is close to optimum. So dont worry, I'm not after anything from you specifically, only those who think a little deeper. :)
But just incase some others who are intelligent enough to inquiry matters before been judgemental, heres a few points that are missing from the information above.
I was obese and had muscle wasting syndrome before I started weightlifting, thats why my arms were thin.
When I started sports I changed my eating habits, improved my insulin resistance, added in HIIT for hormonal balancing as well, started to train 7 days a week, muscle wasting reversed and I built muscle.
The daily workload I mentioned is not a continual stat, it was on for 2 weeks off for some, peridization, I benefitted a lot from overstretching in those on weeks. A taller person usually has more muscle surface and more tensile capacity (usually), so I made use of that strength to increase the speed of sarcoplasmic and myofibrillar stimulus during training.
      Now...?
For months, I haven't attended gym proper, working in my capacity, and on keto trying to get the last amount of fat around my belly off.
Natural gym goers usually dont work in gyms, they ''mess-around'' and under train.
Drugged people usually work hard because of the effects of the enchancement they take.
Everyone is different for sure, but you have to work hard (generally), not tipping the balance of stimulus-fatigue ratio, train hard, in volumes, frequencies and intensities and adjust accordingly, thats the key to natural bodybuilding.
Dont be fooled by enchanced lifters who pump out wrong information about the sport, thinking thats good for you while natural.
Natural and enchanced are similar, yes you have to cause stress, eat and rest accordingly, but the details are very different.
Be inquisitive, never be hasty in your judgments in life. Enjoy. ;)

Same goes for estimating body fat percentages, I dismissed my estimated body fat for the longest time, cause I thought "no way I'm that fat" 😂 but I finally realize I'm 27% atm, my goal was 15% but honestly watching some of these videos I'll probably try somewhere between 15 and 20.

I'm in a very similar boat to you - 26.8% BF atm and I'm aiming for 12-13%, but I'm in no hurry to get there. I estimate that I started somewhere at 38-42% BF 10 months ago, so it's been going fairly well. I'm 37 now and was 36 when I started training (7 months of gym, 3 months mainly calisthenics at home).
Personally, I've found that calculatorfullstopnet has a very good body fat calculator that offers both BMI and the Navy Seals method (which takes into account your neck circumference and thus tends to give lower BF percentages for trained individuals), along with a few other potentially useful metrics.
Anyway, I wish you the best of luck in your journey, (gym)bro!

My guide to big arms is to get your arms strong as hell first by doing compounds like chins and dips (arms focused ofc). Once you've done that, believe me.. your arms are going to look different than they did. For the guys who skipped the compounds for years and have done mostly isolations (nth wrong with that), they still can go back to the compound and throw the isolations aside - an example of what i did too. I have been working out for 5 years now and have always been very passionate about growing big arms. After years of trying things out and being very skeptical about "only compounds" for big arms in the beginning, now, after 5 years, im convinced that heavy chins and dips build the most out of your arms.. Once you reach your strength limit on these two, you can start incorporating isolations or keep doing the compounds but by adding some advanced techniques such as drop sets or supersets or maybe just an additional set.
I wish you all the best guys, keep working.

I'm working towards that 16 inch mark. I've only been lifting for about 3 years now but I've slapped almost 5 inches on my thighs and about 3 in on my arms.
I started out with 20 inch thighs and I'm almost at 25 within the course of 3 years. The crazy part is I've never squatted more than a hundred pounds. I started out at 50 lb and slowly raised it anytime I felt like I started to plateau. I actually just threw more weight on last week because I started plateauing again. I honestly get confused when people say you need to power lift in order to gain big thighs because I definitely am not powerlifting by any means.
And then I grew my arms from 12 in to 15 in within the course of 3 years. My forearms are almost 13 in. My calves are almost 15 inch. I was really scrawny when I first started but I've put on almost 50 pounds over the last 3 years. And I would say at least 30 to 40 lb of that was definitely muscle because I look pretty lean.

The best I've ever done is 19.5", and that was in my prime while doing very high intensity training and weighing in at 220lbs. I couldn't even imagine getting there now, and wouldn't want to. Now, I haven't measured since I leaned down. Just did, came in at 16.5" on both sides, down a little over an inch without the extra body fat padding my numbers. I'm fine with that, I'm all triceps so I'd like my biceps to pop a little more and I'm working on that.

thanks for the compliment. I had a 18 inch right arm 4 years ago. So am proud to have great genetics. I wasn't even going to the gym at the time but i worked in a warehouse that sold mirafit gym equipment. There was a set of 12s i used to rep out but the key was there was a 30kg kettlebell. I used to cheat curl it for a rep at a time, even getting 2 one day. That made my arms blow up.
Also my uncle had a pig farm growing up, between 6-10 i'd help him out most days. I was carrying (trying to) full sacks of feed and metals around. When i moved away at 10 i went to school and there was boys tensing their arms in thee hallway. I went over and tensed too and blew them away, i never forget that. I've always had tennis ball shaped, extremely short biceps that peak up. My traps, back and quads also are very genetically large. I think through having these other large qualities. it makes my front look horrific. Very wide hips and large surface chest but nothing ever used to build.
I am around 5'9 and was 70kg when i was hitting the gym. I had 180kg deadlift 100kg bench and 140kg squat. I never really knew what i was doing and just went for fun and to try and look as good as i could for the ladies. I got disheartened when i saw monsters doing a load heavier and got disheartened with it. I'm devastated i only realized what powerlifting was a year or 2 ago and now i know that my numbers were ok, ad if i'd of gotten some help/a program i Could of really done ok.
I'm now 31 and a withering away mess, i used to always squat just a 50kg bar in the garden for sets of 35 but i damaged my back and couldn't move for 6 days as a result of this and now i've REALLY fell out of love with lifting.
If there's any kids or people in their 20s reading this, please never stop training. I wish wouldn't of.

Also my right leg is bigger than my left leg and there definitely isn't any difference in strength. I'm always doing similar volume for both arms and legs (always starting with the "weaker" left side) but the difference just doesn't seem to go away 😕 Should I just do a little bit more work with the left arm, for instance one set more to try and catch the right arm?

I've been training since I was 15 and I'm coming up to 48. Never touched any drugs let alone steroids, don' take any supplements like protein powder or creatine I just eat food! I train because I enjoy it, I'm not interested in going on stage etc... I've always wanted to see how strong I could get naturally too, without anything then I know that's my real strength, if that makes sense.
Currently I have 17 3/4 inch arms, both exactly the same. They are 15 1/2 inch relaxed. I don't have great definition (never have) but I've always trained for strength and not aesthetics. Also, I've never had that small apple like bicep, I've got very long thick biceps but I've always been strong at arm exercises.
I would agree with everything you say in this video, especially about the distorted perceptions due to social media influencers jacked up on tren etc... It's a bit like the airbrushed models young girls aspire to be, it's simply unobtainable for 99% of people and certainly 100% unobtainable for anyone natural. These huge freaks that are lean at 280lb with 22" arms are not what the normal is but young guys these days are clicking and thinking this is what you're supposed to look like and it's not!

I don't really understand the appeal to size a lot of people want and chase. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about having, say, a bigger butt, but otherwise I'd just want a muscular physique of appropriate size and proportions. I really like how you emphasize framing people's expectations of natural/normal to these massive people that are unnatural. I can imagine being bigger by virtue of putting on some more muscle, but not as a hulk for my height like Google Doucette, as someone that has no aim to be a professional bodybuilder. The old school bodybuilder physique just looks 'better' to me.

I'm 59 H 5'11" @ 215lbs, I've been lifting on and off for about 25 years. My max was just a bit over 19" I'm now at 18", not doing those crazy routines anymore. I find that doing each set to failure @ 10 -15 reps is working better than low reps w/ heavier loads. Even though I'm smaller, I'm better cut than I was 20 years ago. I wish I had this knowledge back then!! My routine consists of 10 - 12 exercises with 4 - 5 sets, each set to failure. I work the triceps and biceps one day, skip then the chest and shoulders skipping a day between workouts. I work the legs and core (lightly) on rest days. What I find the hardest, is the time. In the old days, my workouts lasted 2 and a half+ hours, I can’t afford that time now. So, I’ve adjusted the way I workout that has shaved an hour off my routine, yet pretty much kept up the same intensity. In the old days I would work one body part like the triceps, then move onto the biceps, I now alternated between the two, bicep, then triceps and so on. That way I don’t need as much rest between sets. I try to do exercises that produce maximum results, if it doesn’t feel right or takes too much time for set up, I ditch it. Most importantly is to do the exercises in a strict manor, try to isolate each muscle. For example, when doing curls, try them sitting down, slightly leaning back, elbows tucked in and bring them down to your lap, only for a split second, then back up. This eliminates the use of your delts and places all your effort into the bicep. Perform scull crushers with dumbbells at a slight incline, making sure again to keep your elbows tucked in and don’t go much past 90 degrees. That places constant strain on the tricep head and will give you a better pump. I highly recommend having your own home gym if you can swing it. I’ve had my home gym for over 10 years and don’t miss those over crowded commercial gyms. BTW I have never taken anything more than protein powder. I’ve had colleagues who juiced and now their health problems far out weight the benefits, it’s not worth it! Happy and safe lifting, remember, the pain you feel today, is the strength you feel tomorrow, Semper Fi…

Thanx for this video. This kind of information people need to hear, especialy nowdays when every second person who is working out uses some kind of steroids. I stand for pure natural bodybuilding or any sport that keep me healthy and fit. I used to work out regularly in my teens and I got pretty muscular and strong just by using proteins and creatin. Then I start to work, had no time or energy to lift weights. After almost decade I came back to regular work out and now after 3-4y I´ve reached even better strenght and figure then I had back then in my teens. Im so confindent that I even start to compete in WUAP. I´m 5´10 weight 195 and my messurements are: arms 16, chest 44, thighs 23,5. It looks like I already reached my natural peak and Im happy with that, don´t need to look like CBUM or RAMY. We need to learn how to love ourselfs the way we are and be satisfied with any type of bodies we´ve been blessed by God. We got one health only and it´s the most precious think we have. There is no necessity to use steroids or sarms when not competing professionally.

Arnold spoke about keeping symmetry with his physique. He noted that if he increased one body part such as his biceps, he would have had to increase the other body parts. What looks good is symmetry and great definition. Those massive arms look bloated and unbalanced.

There's also an enormous difference between 15" arms on someone that's 5'5" and 16" on someone a foot taller. Arnie had 20" but he was 6'2" whereas later bodybuilders were getting 20"+ arms on a 5'5" frame (Lee Priest for example) So getting a 17-18" arm if you are 6 foot plus will be easier than if you are 5 foot tall.

This video gave me a huge ego boost! my arms are a solid 17 inches and I am starting to max out all the machines in my gym. I'm still working towards the 18 inch mark though since I'm fairly confident that I can reach it within a year.

At 6ft height, I have 17 inc arms and my biceps look way more mediocre than yours. But this is due to the fact that I have big and strong triceps, which contributes to the measurement dramatically.

I loved your stats on them real numbers vs them claims. Something that in my young adult life used to matter...now 50yrs of age and figure them numbers DON'T MATTER AT ALL either you workout them arms until get the results you do until you are happy with them
