Yo another Frankie enjoyer?!?!? I also found this from his videos. Kaleo is pretty legendary as well. I can also recommend Barns Courtney and Hozier Frankie also uses their music.
John Preacher was an ex-soldier of the Civil War, a yankee who moved out West to escape his violent past. He settled into the small town of Hope and became the respected minister there, giving penance by guiding souls to God with the Good Book after years of accomplishing the same task with the barrel of a gun. He always had some funny yankee ideas, but nothing that the townspeople couldn't overlook as the quirks of a man who'd seen Hell with his own eyes and made it with his own hands. So nobody looked unkindly on him when he took to bringing the Freeman widow and her boy a square meal every night, at least not til it went too far. The marriage that was announced was an affront to nature, and the townsfolk grew restless. The night before the marriage, Preacher sadly found his chapel nearly empty, but it wasn't for the reason he thought. A huge mob surrounded the hovel the Freemans lived in, tore them out, and put the rope on em. The minister had saved the villagers' souls, they just wanted to return the favor. But when he went to bring em their meal and found em swingin' there, something snapped in the old preacher. Now he's got the Devil in him, and he's hiding out in the wilderness, only popping in every Sunday to see a bullet through the head of one of those involved.
So, my grandpa raised me, and when he died, I replayed this song over like a 100 times, i can't explain why, cuz I don't know why, but this song helped me through some really harsh times, and for that, I thank you Jamie, I listen to this song everyday. Keeps my feelings real, keeps me sane.
Up in the north where the cold wind blows Over the prairie gold There's a church bell screaming On the steeple high Gather ye children of men With one hand on the trigger, one hand on the cross Jesus and his family are two things he's lost March him to the scaffold and string him up on high The call came out from the crowd There's blood in their eyes and blood in their hearts For, the blood turning dry on his hands With one hand on the trigger, one hand on the cross Jesus and his family are two things he's lost He cries Oh Lord what have you done You wont never see heaven or kingdom come He cries Oh Lord what have you done You won't never see heaven or kingdom come Listen to me my wayward flock He cried with a noose round his neck I spoke to the lord on the mountain top His bidding was all I could do I spoke to the lord on the mountain top His bidding was all I could do He cries Oh Lord your works been done Now show me heaven or kingdom come He cries Oh Lord your works been done Now show me heaven or kingdom come One hand on the trigger, one hand on the cross Jesus and his family are two things he's lost.
Spoke to the Lord on the mountain top! His bidding was all I could do, _Christ oh Lord! Your work's been done now_... *Show me Heaven or KINGDOM COME!*
I honestly didn't know that this guy was a "Christian" singer. I absolutely LOVE his voice and that is what drew me to his music. I'm not Christian, but I give the guy respect for his talent. I hope he has a long career!
Easily the most underrated Musician in the world right now, I love his music, from his voice, to the guitar, the structure and his passion. Everything is so subtle but yet powerful.
I just cant believe this guys voice there is something calming about it. Something about his voice reminds me of Johnny Cash, so amazing keep it up love the music!
+Skyking 0 I love it when an artist gives you a voice you don't expect to hear. Check out my videos at godofwine77 on youtube. I sing everything from Zak Brown Band to Toni Braxton to NSync
Wow! A modern Bob Dylan has entered the stage and he sure deserves all the credit and attention for his pure minimalistic, yet thought provoking talent put in the strong lyrics. You truly enrich our world! 👌
WoW! Such a voice! My mom said his voice and style is similar to the late Johnny Cash. Why is such a talent wasted and unknown until I watched TWD? Please spread this guy's talent around!
this guy is amazing. What king of stupid world are we living in? that make famous the stupid music that sounds everywhere, while I have to wait for RUclips to find something so beautiful like this is.
I absolutely love his voice; I couldn't believe it when I looked him up and learned he was only 25! Strange that I just discovered him (apparently I missed those Walking Dead commercials and whatnot)...
EricNielsen187 Just joking mate =) Its a great song you are right about that... But i hope you do know that it is not frankie singing right? Its just a singer he is fond of and like the music he makes. Anyways have a good one buddy =)
No worries. I know very well that's not Frankie. When I see a video or hear a song that I like, I will do what I can to support the artist. I didn't mean to come off ignorant. Cheers.
Still listening to this. Still loving the dark sound he puts out. Still can't believe he has this type of voice. Really wished I could find out the inspiration or meaning behind this song cause it keeps pulling me back.
A very unique and defined voice to a very interesting and pleasing song. Love it. Keep up the great work Mr. Commons. You have a very rare voice and gift.
I heard it yesterday on the radio. It was a playlist with ''underground/not mainstream music'' I was like OH MY GOD THIS IS THE VOICE I'VE BEEN MISSING IN MY LIFE. Im not into this kind of music but he's amazing and I can't belive he's only like 2 years older than me. I shared this with friends, world must know about Jamie N Commons.
Vjeko Androić My bad dood, this show is great. Who doesn't love 5 hours of people moseying about looking at each other with blank expressions. This script is as bad as day time soap operas. Its basically just a soap opera with zombies in the background. After a while, the zombies are fucking irrelevant anyways. Its just them having pissing contests with each other while that dumb bitch keeps trying pawn her kid off on everyone else while complaining that she wants to be a better mother. Theres zombies EVERYWHERE... except where we are... LETS WAR WITH EACH OTHER!
+kertys c you don't think that would happen in real life? People with out rules are allowed to act how they want....people want what you have, people don't like you for the way you look....no one to stop them....
+Dimitrijs “Bloody Baron” don`t pay attention. I know those guys, they hate everything that is good and love some shit like Game of Thrones. So you just say "Fuck off" and don`t pay attention. Oh, and enjoy one of the best shows ever made! ;-)
It usually takes me a few times to like a song but after listening to lead me home I figured to find out who this musician is and I listened to this once and now it’s time to find out more. What an awesome musician.I feel like he sounds.
Finally! I have been looking for this very song after searching for the song on the Dark Souls 2 commercial. Found lots of other songs, but this is the one! What an excellent song, and, I agree, it would have really been fitting for the season finale of Walking Dead, too.
It's got those religious references and that deep, gritty but just enough smoothness to balance it out perfectly and that dark sounding instrumentals and lyrics
Last night... I had a little chat with my wife. I sat by her grave, and I realized something. That this is always who I was. And Maria... she knew. She knew what I was. She loved me anyway.
Such and amazing song and wrenching story! First heard Jamie in the outro of some TV show that was on the background, it came on as the end credit music. Immediately went on youtube to search and then found the preacher! One of my favourite songs for sure!
This is legit my first time actually laying eyes on Jamie commons, and to be honest I pictured him looking a bit like older Johnny Cash, not a goofy lookin white kid. Great song though keep it up
Timber wolf0027 Oh for sure, he always uses music that sounds like 20-40 year old songs that kinda make you feel what they felt like back then, hard to explain, but i think you know what i mean, Im 22 but i still listened to Johnny Cash and others when i was like 10-12, I loved that genre back then but modern day country sounds absolutely nothing like it
I was brought here because I heard Lead Me Home by him on a random playlist of Dark Country and then searched the related section because I really liked this guy's sound.
Is it odd that music used for a Dark Souls 2 TV spot makes me want to play Red Dead Redemption? This music just gives me that tragic cowboy story feel...
I'm so glad FrankieonPC used your track in his videos. Even if it did get copyright struck, it introduced me to this song, which I've loved since
if it wasnt for frankie i wouldnt listen to music like jamie n commons stuff or kaleo, actually cause of frankie kaleo is my favorite band lol
Yo another Frankie enjoyer?!?!? I also found this from his videos. Kaleo is pretty legendary as well. I can also recommend Barns Courtney and Hozier Frankie also uses their music.
I thank you JUSTIFIED for allowing me to discover such an amazing song!!!

I like this story, might I ask where you got it so I could share it with my friends?
Why did you share?
Sound like a punisher old west plot
I would watch this movie.
@@scotlandtaylor7041 you know what I really agree with u.

Up in the north where the cold wind blows
Over the prairie gold
There's a church bell screaming
On the steeple high
Gather ye children of men
With one hand on the trigger, one hand on the cross
Jesus and his family are two things he's lost
March him to the scaffold and string him up on high
The call came out from the crowd
There's blood in their eyes and blood in their hearts
For, the blood turning dry on his hands
With one hand on the trigger, one hand on the cross
Jesus and his family are two things he's lost
He cries Oh Lord what have you done
You wont never see heaven or kingdom come
He cries Oh Lord what have you done
You won't never see heaven or kingdom come
Listen to me my wayward flock
He cried with a noose round his neck
I spoke to the lord on the mountain top
His bidding was all I could do
I spoke to the lord on the mountain top
His bidding was all I could do
He cries Oh Lord your works been done
Now show me heaven or kingdom come
He cries Oh Lord your works been done
Now show me heaven or kingdom come
One hand on the trigger, one hand on the cross
Jesus and his family are two things he's lost.
Spoke to the Lord on the mountain top!

One great talent ( FrankieonPC ) leads you to another great talent (Jamie N Commons). 2 for one...gotta love RUclips!
I honestly didn't know that this guy was a "Christian" singer. I absolutely LOVE his voice and that is what drew me to his music. I'm not Christian, but I give the guy respect for his talent. I hope he has a long career!
I'm pretty sure this song is an indictment of Christian hypocrisy.

I accidentally clicked on this video in the sidebar a while back. Best accident I've ever made.
Now go pick up his EP....another thing you won't regret.
Oh great accident you've had the only reason i am here is because i like his music like "lead me home"
Aidan Mulvey no any other songs like that?
I hope my parents say the same about me
Talk about an “old soul” and that he is British to boot?! Sounds like 100% legacy old school southern roots music. Amazing!
Easily the most underrated Musician in the world right now, I love his music, from his voice, to the guitar, the structure and his passion. Everything is so subtle but yet powerful.
there's too much heart and soul in this song... that's why it's not mainstream
I heard this from the Dark Souls 2 trailer and went on a hunt finding it.. this song is so awesome.
yes!!! it is
Same omfg. It took hours
I just cant believe this guys voice there is something calming about it.
Something about his voice reminds me of Johnny Cash,

Talk about a face not matching a voice. I am shocked every time I hear that voice come from a gangly British kid. Lol. He's a great singer though.
