Interesting... I am dying to hear something from the next album now. Being honest, I never cared for Dance Macabre or Miasma despite absolutely loving everything else on Prequelle... and then Kiss the Go Goat and Mary On A Cross came out and were light and underwhelming to me as well. So, I have been dying for a Ghost song that makes me go "YES!!" again. Unfortunately, for me, Hunter's Moon falls into the underwhelming set due to how it is done and especially the guitar/keyboard part after the chorus vocals. It takes things sugary and slightly cheesy rather than rocking and heavy... and just some changes to that alone could have totally made this song different and better, imo. Possibly even a "YES!". But certainly, heavier in this case. Imagine that loud guitar/keyboard part being done by rhythm guitars doing the same thing in louder heavy chord work 2 or 3 octaves lower. That would bring in the edge and heaviness. That is what made Cirice come off as a heavy song. Deep, dark chords. To me, Ghost have been veering from that in some of their choices in ways that are keeping these more recent singles/songs from being "great" to my ears. I get that Mary On A Cross and Kiss The Go Goat were throwbacks to an earlier '60s or '70s Papa Nil era, which heavily shaped their style and mixing... but I am dying to get back to something darker and heavier, and that is where Hunter's Moon falls short for me being more of the same as the more recent releases.
BTW, none of this is to say that everything needs to be heavy... I think Helvetesfonster and how it rolls into Life Eternal are both brilliant tracks... but when a song has the structure to be heavier, I'd prefer that heavier nature in there more front and center.

@@jeffw5168 Has a director ever asked you to write a song for a major horror movie? I can't imagine why not...🤔

What a dumb comment from a dumb person. I guess I'm the dummy for reading it hoping there's light at the end of your hopeless tunnel
