If it has a heli mode, then yes, you can do it. It's critical, especially for nitro helis, to be able to adjust the curve so you are a good hover power at half stick.
It has held mode but the curves are all linear I don't know how to change it to an S curve . But model 9 is preprogrammed for some heli and has a nice S curve on the throttle. No idea how that was done.
Russell Jones hey Russell, not sure what you are trying to do. do you want a curve on the hold curve? Are you happy with how to change the curve in other modes?
I use Heli mode as I am much more comfortable with the settings in the menus in that setup. If you set the swash to be 90 degree for the model the main controls operates in the same way as ACRO anyway. It also lets you use the 3 position flight switch to set three positions/modes in the APM using the pitch curve in the radio too. Hope this helps, happy flying!
Just crashed on a maiden my brand new quad on a three branch because of this problem. I wish I would have researched this before :-(. Anyway thank you as it pinpointed the problem I had and low and behold I use a DX7 as well.
great video just the info i needed i was going to set a curve from zero to 100 % but think this is a better idea....would this help also with some stick centre deviation i have on my pitch control it never gets to 1500 it always wavers +-10 points the pots are probably not very good on my turnigy....? or is there some other way to add a dead zone at centre stick ? turnigy 9xr
Hi Bing, it will waiver a bit due to the mechanical nature of the pots that sense the stick position. This amount of drift seems excessive. I'd go back to the supplier and log a fault.
i had the transmitter apart to swap from mode 1 to mode2 i tempted to swap over the pots from pitch to yaw or throttle... to see if it better on those channels, or get some better pots... i not sending it back no pint really its only £40 i find a way around it thanks Painless
Hey Bill, Could you help me. Using pixhawk and Ublox gps 1400KV and 3S 11.1V. My drone is getting tilted and moving towards South West direction. The reaction is so fast that as soon as I take off it goes and hits to my wall and breaks the props. Any guidance to make it stable and fly vertically atleast. Used a lot of upper and right trims not working. Using Flysky i6 Mode2. Everything is ready from my end still first flight is pending. Thanks a lot
Im using ardupilot mega, and its intended to be used with airplane mode. I have a dx7s but it only has throttle curve control on heli mode, how can i make the heli mode behave like airplane mode so i can have throttle curve control??
having a hard time to set up the old dx7 to the X525 V3 4-axis QuadCopter Glass Fiber Folding Kit w/ KK2.15 board can you help me or send me a link pl would like to get this to hover insted of taking off
I have the motors all in the right way and the right port...and turning the right way when I try to hover the front flips backwards and I have been looking at some videos about tuning the board but maybe I push or set somthing...I have my DX7 on airplane mode does that matter

What about the props - are the ones on the back installed upside down?
Don't think so I did feel the air on all of them and there all have down wind
That's not a true test, even upside down they will produce *some* thrust...
