In this video, I react to scenes in the Simpsons nuclear power plant episodes Part 2 from the perspective of a nuclear physicist. I review the scenes in the Simpsons episodes The Government Fines The Nuclear Power Plant and Nuclear Power plant Fire Drill. I look through what is accurate information about nuclear power plants and radioactivity in the Simpsons nuclear episode and react to it.

Since Burns is childless, he won't be leaving his fortune to his children, and so could give it all to Yale.
I came down to the comments as soon as that line played hoping to see it explained because I didnt get it either 😂 that makes perfect sense though, thank you!!
Give? Burns doesn't Give anything?
You beat me to it 😉
@@Modhunter42 The guy from Yale certainly expected him to.
If I know Burns a bit he would rather bulldoze everything on his death and be buried with the whole plant and all the employees as well.
Elina is absolutely adorable in the best ways possible. It’s refreshing too see one so bright, ambitious, kind, and caring - not capable of understanding the nuances of the dry, cynical and sometimes dark humor we Americans feast upon.
The Latin motto at 6:43 reads: "In order to make the rich richer."
The first college was excited Burns had no kids because that meant they were more likely to get his money. 😁
And later, when Homer's voice wasn't recognized, Homer then spoke as he did in the 1989 version of the cartoon. 🙂
“Frank Grimes, or Grimey, as he liked to be called.”
“I live in a single room on top of a bowling alley. And underneath another bowling alley.”
Soooo many hilarious moments from that legendary episode!!! 😂
The 1989 voice thing was a reference to the way Homer sounded during the first season, which aired in 1989.
I did not like Homer's original voice
@@rossrobertson674 lol, I don’t think anyone did.
@@apok1980 is would've thought so too but my grade 7 teacher liked the original voice 😂
5:48 A baby atom is called NEUtron. When it turns professional, it becomes a PROton. And if it runs for office, it's an ELECTron
Yes, and that's what drove Lisa to drink.
Germany countinues the seppuku and shut down their last remaining nuclear power plants. I hope all those that voted for this week be happy paying higher prices to import electricity from France that is produced from ... nuclear power plants.
It's nuclear energy with extra steps
Indian Point was a nuclear power plant in New York State. It was recently shut down.
Childless means he has nobody to leave his money to, meaning the university people are greedy hungry for his money. Thank you and thumbs up for the video.
As long as your child only designs a nuclear reactor and doesn't try to actually build one in his backyard like the boy scout . He tried to build a breeder reactor, whatever that is, in his backyard. The nuclear Regulatory Commission made a statement saying that he did not achieve criticality, but the contamination caused his backyard to be a Superfund Site. Thanks for the video and thumbs up.
The thing about Frank Grimes and that entire episode is that it's basically "What would happen if a regular person from our reality found themselves in the simpsons universe and had to work with Homer?" It doesn't help that the guys backstory is that he's an orphan who sacrificed everything to get educated as a Nuclear technician and is very much Homers opposite, while homer just showed up on day one and got a job he was severely underqualified for.
He's not an orphhan, he was abandoned by his parents. Well, his parents might be dead, but we don't know that.
@@daerdevvyl4314 functionally the same thing.
This woman could read the phone book out and I would still watch and listen with that voice and accent 😁
There's an Indian Point nuclear power plant a few miles north of New York City.
The Simpsons started in 1989 and homer had a different voice until Dan Casseletta changed it.
Thank you for sharing 9:45 its a great meta reference 🤣
There is a plant near Peekskill, NY, USA called Indian Point.
The racing stripe is like the stripes painted on race cars. It's just decoration.
Indian Point, New York is the location of a Nuclear Power Plant. It is controversial for many reasons not the least of which is the geological fault line upon which is was built.
"Childless" is important because it implies there is no one to leave his estate to and the University hopes to receive his wealth when he dies.
Am I the only one who wants to hear elina stories on office place melt downs?
No, I wanna hear those
Watch out for Elina. She thought Marge would be smart to kill Homer for the insurance... Scary
"Living, but you better hurry." LMAO!
The Frank Grimes episode is one of the best Simpsons episodes ever.
Lisa pulls wine glass and starts slurring in the next scene,
Narrator: "Is the kid drunk?"😂
Hardcoded Korean subs is the best way to watch The Simpsons. I absolutely love it!
I'm actually a tutor who used to work in industry, like Homer. That's what is happening today. School teachers, who I've never been but work alongside, are leaving in droves because they spend more time doing paperwork than teaching. The education services are now run by multitudes of managers who are on far more money than tutors or teachers but have the education of ten-year-olds. I was asked, and did, teach my own manager and a senior manager both maths to a 16-year-old level because they had the maths equivalent of a nine-year-old child. That is how mad it is in the West.
1:47 Childless, therefor no heirs to claim his estate
When you said "this would be my child", it hit me right in the feels, knowing that smart women choose to have so few children. Since IQ is largely genetic, there is that contradictory demand on smart women to have many children but to also use their precious time to contribute to the knowledge of mankind. It's not clear which one would be the greater contribution over the long run.
Luckily I don't have to deal with such problems. I'm a man and a rather smart one if I say so myself. So naturally I have chosen to spend my life watching RUclips and contribute to the advancement of humanity in the comment section.
15:38 the racing stripes are for racing the cooling towers against each other, it raises morale
Wear a white lab coat, with high heels! I was double dared to ask lol
To all my fellow New Yorkers, a moment of silence for the Indian Point Nuclear power plant R.I.P. But at least we can now import most of our energy from Canada so that's a relief 😑
15:25 It is a well known scientific fact that racing stripes improve performance. Why else would all the top race cars have them. It is just like how red paint is faster than any other colour and so is the preferred choice for the coolest sports cars.
I always loved Burns calling a meltdown an "unrequested fission surplus"...!
now... the 2nd episode has been considered by reviewers a masterpiece, amongst the top best if not the best.
of course, one must be comprehensively knowledgeable of the series.
It is the one and only time the series completely deconstructed itself.
“I’m peeing on the seat. Give me a raise!” 🤣
Racing stripe is a line painted across the top of nice race and sports cars and the teenagers with their 1.4l boy racer car 😂😂
I'm such a big fan. Thank you reacting to my favourite tv show aswell
Great video, I love your channel! I have been subscribed for now bit now. Keep these videos coming!
I love your voice. I could listen to you for hours.
If I was like Homer, Groningen would be out of electricity right now 🥲
The 1989 voice thing is Homer's voice when the Simpsons came out in 89.
Homer? Educated? Oh that is adorable.
I love these reactions! 😂
Cooling towers really do need less wind resistance lol
Loved it❤
The Frank Grimes episode of the Simpsons might be my favorite episode of all time. It's legit worth watching the whole episode. It's just so good.
Grimey: You went to space!!!!????
Homer: You've never been??? 😅
@@rossrobertson674 Homer: Would you like to see my Emmy?
@@ArlenKundert I think byfar the funniest part of that episode is when Old Grimey tells Homer he has a 5-13 (I think) which is code for whatever emergency is going kn at his work station and Homer looks at his watch⌚
@@rossrobertson674 Homer: Ohhhh, a 5-13…
🤣🤣🤣

Homer is the best
Elina, your reactions to the jokes are the cutest thing ever!!
I loved how when Grimes was electrocuted you had the exact same reaction as everyone else in that shot
I had Fun , Thank You ! Nice Break from Doom !
Great video Elina. So freakin funny. Love your laugh!! Reviews on David Hahn the boy that had a nuclear reactor in his mom's shed. 3 Mile Island is a great story too for review. Will be awesome if you did these. Cheers beautiful. 🍻🥂❤️🥰
Recently found your channel just love it.
Childless is important for Universities... they know they'll get all the inheritance.
I learnt something. I have to watch these videos as soon as they appear. I hope there will be many more.
Missed the best part of the episode of Grimes, when they're at the funeral and Homer says "Marge change the channel."
MURICA humour is hilarious, because it's way too close to reality, Love physics...and chocolate cake.
Elina! Love the content! As for some ideas about what to show, or what to explain - if you have a chance to take a tour of a cyclotron facility, or, an episode on nuclear spectroscopy and its uses.
I wish you’d watch the entire Frank Grimes episode. It’s so funny!
They are really happy with the childless Mrs Berns because they want him to leave his inheritance to the university when he dies. 😂
"It's pronounced N U C U L A R" - classic
Now you're like a french fries PWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! That was a good one!
That last guy just didn't have that Homer "magic."
Thanks Elina, fun video.
thank you for showing me this video
often, hidden information may need further scrutiny
a cartoon is an easy way to hide truth
Indian Point is a nuclear power facility that is currently being decommissioned. Because of it's proximity to New York City, it has faced far more scrutiny than most nuclear plants in the US.
Oh come on Elina, you loved those definitions… 😂😊
I must confess my undying love for Elina: she is the ultimate "Brain Babe"!
Sapiophile: One whose romantic attraction to others is primarily based on intelligence.
Get in line dude
She's not gonna fuck you bro.
Heavy satire in this video. The helicopter ride to the mountain retreat was a reference to the movie, "Ex Machina". The chant of the robot women as they boarded the plane on its way to Yale was a variation on the nonsensical Yale-ey chant "Boolah-Boolah, Boolah-boolah.
Hi Elia,
You should do a reaction video to the 1988 Australian movie "Young Einstein".
It annoyed an entire generation of highschool physics teachers.😂
Harvard University doesn't want alumni to have kids because Mr. Burn could leave his massive wealth to Harvard. It happens all the time, they normally name area of the university after Mr. Burns or a wing of building or even chair after him, 😂.
You are so awesome please keep making videos
"I don't need safety gloves, because I'm Homer Simp--" [electrocution noises]
Welp... Burns is gonna have to deal with OSHA and NRC now so that's fun for him
Brilliant!
these videos are so much fun 😅
Anyone who has studied nuclear instantly becomes a god, never to make ANY mistakes ever again! Perfect!
They definitely do not belch.
Hi Elina. I wanted to explain the "childless" joke. Sometimes, wealthy alumni leave money to their alma mater in their last will and testament. These university representatives were excited to try to charm Mr. Burns because he was so old, so wealthy, and he had no children that would compete for his allocation of wealth after death.
Indian Point was the last operational NPP near New York City and stopped producing power in April of 2021.
Hey! Homers a professional! He's been working at that plant for years diligently pressing various buttons and it only melts down once or twice a season!
"and now you're more like a french fry" 😆
As crooked as Burns is and as inept as Homer is, that plant has gone on for 30 years and hasn't had a single major incident
Awesome you're a Nuclear Physicist! Glad this was in my recommendations.
Elina, you made me laugh more than the cartoon-it’s ALL meant to be ridiculous and you keep catching things (only not quite). Living overseas for 8 years I completely understand. I wasn’t the wittiest person at the local pub in Germany, just the most fun to laugh at!
She knows it’s meant to be ridiculous.. he is rationalizing it. That’s the joke.
@@ElladaEllada Great joke! I lived four years in Korea but the other half your name??? It’s Greek to me! Does it sound like “ay-lah-dah”?
Burns will get cryogenically frozen upon death. Until Smithers finds a cure for 44 stab wounds in the back. 😂
that guy that was going crazy at the end is frank grimes aka grimey...he died...and i think you can see his grave briefly in the opening scene of the halloween specials....if i remember correctly
a really, really, really tiny thing that's positively charged
The joke is about american university culture and that they're so scared of being sued due to the perceived fear of anything nuclear that they would give equal say to anti nuclear sentiments simply for being suggested.
Jejeje que lindo video sigue así 💪
*ELINA: **_"Now you're more like a french fry."_*
🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭
Any authentic Nuclear physicist would know that Indian Point Nuclear is in reference is to Indian Point Energy Center (I.P.E.C.) is a three-unit nuclear power plant station located in Buchanan, just south of Peekskill, in Westchester County, New York.
Funny thing about Homer is that he did learn some safety regulations as safety inspector.
In one episode where he was looking for a new bar to hang out, he ended up in a lesbian bar.
Know what he noticed what was wrong first? The club has no fire escape.
the show started in 1989. while homer was played by the same actor, he sounded very different
I wonder if this woman would like to invest in a time share in Pripyat? It's a nice place......
You are too dang cool and too dang cute and too dang smart. I KNEW I should have been a nuclear physicist!
03:57 "apizza" is a thin crust pizza. This shows his priorities.
I can't believe it took this long for Jason Alexander to guest star on the Simpsons. Has he been on the show before and I just don't remember?
Awesome reaction Elina another one you should react to is supersize Homer! Really good espisode!
"CHILDLESS", meaning he has lots of money to give them, because he has no heirs 😂😂😂,..
a racing stripe isn't a track, it's a decoration you put on a car
I am become death, the destroyer of worlds. J. Robert Oppenheimer. J, Robert was born on this day in 1904. Oppenheimer was the wartime head of the Los Alamos Laboratory and is often credited as the "father of the atomic bomb.
Indian Point is a closing nuclear power plant in New York state north of NYC and Sally's Apizza in New Haven is one of if not the best pizza place in the USA.
Havent seen an answer to this yet, are you from Greece? Cyprus? Love these reactions :>
Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant is actually about 15 miles from me on the other side of the Hudson River.
I think Simpsons is not funny nor entertaining but you make EVERYTHING enjoyable ❤
Is that Suze Orman at 10:56?
