Thanks for the video! I would have never thought to do this had I not stumbled across your video. I too was unable to find the handle online, but found that the handle on the DWST24082 works, and they still stock it for $35 at my local HD. It felt like a waste to buy a box just to scavenge it for the handle, but it was worth it for my needs.
I just contacted DeWalt on Social Media, asking if they could sell the handle online for those of us that want to swap it out. They actually responded within a few minutes, and said they accept the challenge and they are constantly working on improving their products. It may have been an automated response. 🤷♂️ But either way, if we let them know we'd prefer to purchase a handle to change it for how it comes, maybe they'll make them more readily available. I also contacted HWGA in Cape Coral, Florida. They are the largest Dewalt Showroom in the United States. If I find they offer the 7 inch handles as replacement parts, I'll let you all know. Have a great week.
I've heard back from HWGA in Cape Coral, and they do not stock the handles at this time. Although it appears I was talking to a live person from DeWalt, as they replied multiple times, I'm going to contact DeWalt directly at corporate and ask about the handles. When I find out more, I'll let you know. Also, I watched a RUclips channel yesterday from the UK 🇬🇧 and he had a 2.0 two drawer box...WITH a handle. 😮 Could it be they get a handle over the pond and we don't? Or did he switch it out himself like was shown here. He didn't mention it, but I asked him about it in the comments and haven't heard back yet. I'll keep you posted. And again, if anyone reading this is Team Top Handle, please reach out to DeWalt directly, so they see there's a need to sell the handle separately. Have a great day!
Great idea!! I've got more than one of these two drawer boxes. The handle went on just as the video showed. The other boxes are giving me issues though, I take the screws out but the end will not come out. I've used screw drivers for leverage, I've even set on the floor, braced it with my feet and pulled with all I have and still can't get it off! Could DeWalt have put something else in there to keep the ends from coming out. Has anybody else had this problem?
I need an adapter to connect a tstak base (on wheels) to a toughsystem 2.0 (drawers). I understand the 2.0 is wider, but there has to be a way. They have the adapter set to attach a "pro" clip... i need it to attach tstack clips
One way is to cut a rectangular piece of wood and attach caster wheels on the bottom. You are effectively making your own tough system base this way. There are also these 3d printed clips that you can use to lock the bottom tough system onto the diy cart.
Hello, I'm confused about how you were able to fit a smaller handle (7") to a wider one (7.75") I know may be a very stupid question but I missed something....
Hello and thank you for the video! The handle is not available in the link provided, is there a different place to buy it? Also, will it fit the 3 drawer version? Thank you!
I can’t figure out what the purpose of the black scoop part is that the yellow thing is attached to. Or is it just a lazy placeholder from previous design?
It’s a new feature. You flip it up and attach half width boxes on top, like the newly announced battery charger box. I don’t know anyone that uses the yellow thing.
Why did they leave out the top handle I rather have the top handle than the side handle, you could probably figure out a way to put yellow half box clip on by cutting that piece out and epoxy it too the box
I think the side handles are crucial for dewalt to keep because they are key part of their racking system. They took out the top handle because of that yellow thing for half boxes. I personally don’t use any half boxes or intend to in the future so it is not important for me. I really love having the handle on top. 👍
Yeah, you’ll have to choose which option is more important for you. In my case, I don’t have or intend to ever get the half box. And I really missed having the handle on top like the toughsystem1.0 boxes did.
That's great that you don't need it. I'm glad it works for you. But there are those of us that would use it in a different way than you mentioned, and a Top Handle would be better for us. Which is why the versatility of this system is so unique. It's really a great product.
Due to popular request, I have 3D printed versions of the handle available for sale here - ebay.us/kOkGmi
This is fantastic, thank you! Ok, new challenge. Can you make a 3D adapter so my DeWalt Fast Charger DCB104 can "clip" to my ToughSystem 2.0 boxes?
really interested in the handles but not being in USA 45$CAD per handle is a no go unfortunately~
Do you make and sell the side handles for the 226 piece toolbox? if so, are they different from the top handle?

Why the f did they take it out in the first place
I don’t f’n know but I wish they f’n didn’t it. That top handle is so f’n useful.
One of the stupidest engineering decisions by Dewalt. Fools.
That is so cool🙂 I was wondering why no handle there🙂

Do you happen to have stabilizer inserts on the boxes? You’ll need to take those out first.
@@chicagohandyman Did as you suggested. Worked perfectly. I guess I could not see the forrest because of the trees. Thank you for your help!!

Would the handle in front of the smaller 2.0 box fit?
No, it will not. Those handles are too wide.
Would a tstak or versastack handle work as well?
Yes it would.
