It is my pleasure. When you select roof there are options in the info box that is just above the drawing screen. To the left of the hip roof there is a panel and this is the one to select. Where the angle is shown (12 in) type in 0 (zero) for no pitch. You would then select two corners on one side of the proposed roof for the pivot line. When prompted for directon for pitch select inside the roof area and then select two points lower left and upper right and you will have a flat roof.

Foundations definately do and all or part of the slab. In my demonstration I was just trying to make sure you could see the flooring above the mesh. The magic wand is very cool. Be sure to hold down the SPACE BAR when selecting. Good luck to you.

Thank you very much. I watched a tutorial from cadmonkey this was also helpful. But i got onto the mesh part under the building i could not use spacebar magic wand and trim it within the building.....
Basically the mesh goes under the slabs and plans on the drawing rather then getting cut out?
    much appreciated

Thanks again for the reply i've told alot of students about quick feedback about yourself.
The mesh system seems to overlap my floorplan and doesnt seem to want to cut out? or delete out of the plan design itself.
Just wondering for the roof feedback I clicked upon roof button, followed by the roof icon on the top left hand sign wich appears to change setting was this step what you described?

Bob, how about I throw together a quick video for you and post it? If you need to know others do too. We don't sell The CAD Academy where you are which includes SolidWorks, ArchiCAD, MicroStation & more but feel you might benefit from the instructor portal we have. If I had your email address I would send you a login.
