Your coach is trying to show you how to not roll the forearms as your inside hand path and rolling make the hands gets too deep too early and shoulders turn too shallow, try keeping the right arm above the left arm for at least the first half of the backswing, it gets the right shoulder going back with more extension, the wrists will then cock correctly and the left shoulder goes down and under which gives you left side bend and will make it much easier to then shallow on the downswing
Gaz tell your camera man to change his shutter speed to 1/40 instead of 1/50 and watch all that horrible light screen flicker disappear. Thank me later mate
