I love these Japanese saws. I just love hand saws and backsaws I got a collection of them and I can't get enough.
I've got 12 of the Suizan saws and use them on a regular basis. Personally, I think the best 2 saws are the 7 inch Ryoba and the 6 inch Dozuki for cutting dovetails. I also have the Lie Nielson and Veritas saws. For the last year I've been using the Japanese saws more so than the other saws. Thanks for your video and sharing your opinion.

鋸の重さだけでスーッと切れる、切れ味のいい縦挽目はシャリシャリといい音がする、そういう感覚を映像で伝えるのは難しいですが、
是非とも皆さんに知ってもらいたいですね。
自分で自分の動画を見ながら、いい音してるな〜と感心してました。
縦挽きってやってみると横挽きと全然違った感覚で面白いんですが、
46CWさんを除いて、やる人は少ないですね。
実は「縦挽きのすすめ」動画を作ろうと半年くらい前から模索してまして、アイデアがまとまり次第制作にかかりたいと思ってました。
しかし、なかなかまとまらない。

There are also a large number of different Japanese saws (different manufacturers, different sizes [mm length] and shapes [Ryoba, Kabata, Dozuki, etc.] ).
I have 8 different Japanese saws, a 3-part. Set 180mm (ryoba, kabata, dozuki), a dowel saw 150mm, a Ryoba Seiun 300mm (for large-format wood), a Dozuki Universal Extrafine X 240mm, a Z-Saw Kabata lengthwise 250mm and Z-Saw Kabata crosswise 250mm.
Maybe I'll get myself a hand-forged Japanese saw. 🤭

hey far east wood could you help me with something? i bought a shinwa ink line. im wondering what ink are you suggesting me to use with it ??
If the ink line you own is the same as the one sold in Japan, the following description is common.
In Japan, we use India ink for ink lines. India ink is called Bokujuu (墨汁) or Bokueki (墨液) in Japanese. I looked up the Ink line on Shinwa's website. There was Shinwa's ink there. The ink is India ink.
Generally, India ink is used for calligraphy, but architectural India ink has the added property of being difficult to dry.
Since India ink is water-soluble, even if the sponge soaked with India ink (inside the ink line) dries, you can use it again by adding water to it.
I wish you could get it in your country.
@@fareastwood thx i kinda rushed it and ordered "Moon Palace Sumi Inkt 180 Ml" i hope that works out i bought a "Japanese SHINWA Handy Black ink Line Marker 77845 Sumiwaza" with it. it looks kinda like a traditional japanese ink line but with a cover. i kinda worried when i use a tradional one that it noks over and spils ink all over the place
qeustion im looking to buy a "Nakaya Nokogiri Ryoba Gold" you know its good? it cost me 70 euro i allready got a 30 euro ryoba but a tooth broke out. still i tryng to be careful with it :)

彗斬、気になってましたが詳しいレヴューありがとうございます！やっぱり購入しようと思いました！「ドウヅキ」の件ですが自動車メーカーのマツダを欧米では「マヅダ」と発音するようにドウツキの「ツ(TSU)」を外国の方が発音しにくいことからドウヅキと呼ぶようにされたのではないでしょうか？あくまでも私見ですが。

今、「マヅダ」と発音してみたら、訛ってしまって笑いが止りません。
さすがに一つだけ新品は比べられん…
