    I recognize this screwdriver design from a mymechanics restoration, and I love this screwdriver just as I loved the Weltrekord screwdriver! I'm really happy to see other restorationists take after MM's style of videos with the basic commentary and camera work. I'm sure it's not easy but the results are worth the effort! Thank you!

    I’ve always like the old tool designs. They were so elegant and straightforward as to their design and how they work. My go to adjustable wrenches that are used the most are from the 1910’s made and sold for motorcycles and bicycles. A nice short wrench that still has the ability to open to almost 2 inches.

    I see that it works but don't understand the physics of @3:45 ... wouldn't the inner diameter also expand making it more difficult to insert the brass fitting?

    • @misterpatina
      @misterpatina  Год назад +2

      The steel expands (outer and inner diameter get bigger - more space), so the brass has 'more space' to get in

    • @GlennTillema
      @GlennTillema Год назад

      @@misterpatina Thank you for the explanation! I just assumed the outer diameter would get bigger but the inner would expand inward and make it more narrow. I suppose the outer expands so much it supersedes the inner diameter?

    • @Mario-iq4qz
      @Mario-iq4qz Год назад +1

      @@GlennTillemathere is more material on the outside so when it expands it pulls from inside towards out expanding the inner radius.
