There are no “trendsetter” without trend followers; and vice versa, as much as there is no song without a listener. It’s not about either/or as much as it’s about realizing there’s something which grounds both, the audience and the creator; that’s why we do what we do, it provides meaning to what we do.
I have to say, you've given us a beautiful example with this video. The almost square 4:3 aspect ratio, mic in shot, background split into plain dark brown and light brown, and crisp, concise speech while looking us in the eyes create an old-school public broadcasting announcement vibe without being painfully obviously retro.
Right?! This dummy told people to be unique while being a copycat of all those other rich American RUclipsrs. It's a joke! The worst part is that judging from this comment section, many people can't even see it.
"consume and do so intentionally" what a golden nugget of advice! Currently shifting my youtube towards something more intentional as well this video really gave some good structure to build off! Thank you just subbed!
Mine has gone from ugly politics to artists and creatives only- it’s now a lovely place to come! Keep pressing “not interested” on anything that doesn’t fit.
As an artist, I often find myself lost in the pursuit of perfection, forgetting the beauty that lies in the imperfections of the creative process. Your video was a poignant reminder that art isn't about flawless execution but about authentic expression. It resonated deeply with me, reigniting my passion to embrace vulnerability in my work. Thank you for sharing this profound perspective; it was exactly what I needed to hear.
@@AljaMr Thanks for asking! I’m a storyteller-I work with photography and filmmaking to capture the beauty of life’s quiet moments and turn them into visual narratives. For me, it’s about exploring the intersection of light, emotion, and movement, creating pieces that feel authentic and deeply personal. My goal is to craft stories that resonate with people, inviting them to reflect or simply feel something real. It’s less about perfection and more about the honesty of the process. What about you? What inspires your work?
This is my first time seeing you. The cut at 34 seconds when you say "let's proceed with the conversation" and it shows a man jumping up from a nightmare, tells me everything I need to know about your ability to tell stories. Most would've been so literal when choosing that cut. You say proceed with the conversation, they would've cut to people having a conversation. I don't know why it works so well, but it's perfect. Instant sub bro.
I’ve been thinking about RUclips at the moment and like you said how the creativity feels almost lost in some areas, you made some really interesting points. I do also think that when you start out, it’s normally inspired by someone. So you will most likely make videos very similar to them but then eventually add more of yourself into it and without realising it you are slowly creating your own style. 😊 love the style of this video
I love this perspective! It's so refreshing to see someone shift the focus from 'content creation' to 'artistic expression'. It reminds us that the heart of creativity lies in the process, not just the end product. Thanks for sharing this insightful message!
I'm so happy this was recommended to me, the timing is insane... I've been working on videos, stopped working on them because I am incredibly perfectionistic, I even prefer bad grades in school, because I don't give the teachers my essay or my artwork / design (I'm on a Media Design School) than it being imperfect. I've never watched it from that angle- Thank you for posting this video, your editing style is very good and makes me feel comfortable listening to you, very good sound design! Loving the process, not the outcome... That's one thing I won't forget.
Welp, this was the craziest video I've ever seen. and it was so simple. Idek what to say but God bless for creating this and having it up on this platform. It was just what I needed
I should also mention, that on the surface this video seems simple, but the work and thought behind this transcends just "art" or "help" you have a gift brotha!
This was legit the best breakdown video of what it means to actually TRY. Very VERY well said and put together. This is my first time seeing your videos and I watched through the entire thing no skips, I actually went back a few times to really take in the wisdom. I've been "trying" youtube for many years and come to realized I've been missing the "why" to my process and its shows in my inconsistency and maybe even unclear message I share so, thank you Landon. This helps me think deeper for the system I need to put into place to better share my creations. Happy Holidays.
This came to me in a perfect time. I recently saw a reel that said, "You are what you think about. " This video expertly builds on that sentiment. My aspirations are to be creative, but I'm still trying to figure out how to piece my sensibilities together and how I want my voice to be represented. Finding inspiration is definitely an aspect, as is a gallon of luck and curiosity. I greatly appreciate this video and have been a subscriber since the early days. PS: I started editing when I was 10 too! :)
This was a good vid. My parents passed away years ago and I made a film when I was at a hard place in my life. That film means the world to me, and I made it only for myself. That's how I go about creating any passion projects going forward. If my goals and heart align with the project, then I'm gonna make it. Working with Sony, a RUclipsr I admired, these things are amazing when they first happen. But the only thing that will truly fulfill you as an artist is if you make art that comes from the depths of you. You can't be afraid to let people see who you really are. Not everyone will like what you make, or like you for that matter. As long as you stay true to yourself, and realize that ultimately the process of creating is the goal, you will live a fulfilling creative life. Thanks for reading.
This is the only “how to” that I ressonate with and feel like says something both slightly different(ly) and beautifully. So well described and the visualssss>> (tier top)
I absolutely love this. So fucking refreshing after so many other videos that tell you how to just go viral - like wtf is the point is that?? Thank you for being you.
Echoing some others, but thanks for not only encouraging artists to find their own style but providing a framework to do so. As a music producer who understands the importance of visual media but hasn't pushed myself visually, I'm focusing now on developing a blueprint that aligns with my (and my collaborators') work. Gonna be referencing this video a lot!
I’m only halfway through this video and your content - on a topic one might say is oversaturated - resonated and hit SO differently for me and with more clarity than it did when I heard it elsewhere, and I am so appreciative of seeing that actual message in action with your video. Thank you for reinforcing that we truly are our (RR? lol) own secret ingredient, and those we are aligned to and who need us, will find and stick with us. 🙌🏼
Luv the smooth jazz in the background right off the ripppp. My microphone on my iphone is listening to me because the algorithm put your relatively unknown channel on my feed- after speaking with chatgpt. This video content is everything I have been thinking about/ planning. Im spooked.
I love this! As an artist, trying to expand their social media presence and deciding that I want to find ways to focus in on my creative work and showcasing myself as a person - the artist - this is so helpful to remind what the purpose behind it all truly is
thank you very much for this video, a long time i didnt know where to start but this inspirated me and gave me so much information i can work with, you are truly a good artist, much love
As someone who uses my creativity for others as my living, my own art and films have suffered. But the "content treadmill" just exhausts me. Thank you for putting your perspective out there. I never thought of using the "content" as the skeleton to hold my ideas, not a template to plop in identical images from myself. This is encouraging.
Landon, this is the first video I've come across from you and you said exactly what my soul has been feeling for the longest time. I've always loved creating content but felt very restricted with how to actually "make it." This is a completely new way of looking at creating content and what's possible. I'm really excited to further explore this path. Massive thanks for putting out my man!🤘
Landon, I thank you for your message. You made me feel assured that I am on the right path. It took me years to show who I really am to the world. Now I am enjoying every process of what I do.
This has been really refreshing to listen to. Some of what you’re talking about is how I used to teach interior design 😉 The first stage of the design process is Concept Design where the designer learns how to generate ideas for a concept proposal.
Wow! This was insighful. Especially the "the first phase of growth will be annoying to you and your followers" part. I've started and "quit" so many times I can't count anymore.. but after all I didn't really quit. I guess. A new perspective for me to just see it as part of the process. Thanks :)
I made a whole new set of social media in the end of December 2024 because I am genuinely just too overwhelmed with SO MUCH noise out there.
