Hope this video helps. I didn’t want to overwhelm anyone with the gear talk but i forgot to mention portrait mode on your phone. If you decide to just use your phone, you can use the portrait mode to blur out your background the same as i would with my longer lenses. I 100% started filming content with my phone and windows movie maker. Don’t let the gear hold you back!
This is such a fantastic video topic that I didn't know I needed! I just moved and feel so self conscious about my empty space that it's stopped me from filming. This helped so much. Thank you!
I subscribed in like 20 secs into the video😂. One of the reasons why I do not post from my apartment is because it’s not aesthetically appealing, plus I do not have furniture for real🤷🏽♀️.
This is a great video. I learned so much in it. I love your lighting philosophy, “you just have to have well-placed lighting.” “Lighting is ultimately about conveying emotion…light it appropriately for that.” You’re advice is spot on and you really demonstrate how the rest of us - those without big budgets and lots of professional equipment - can create impactful videos right in our own average homes. Thanks so much!
This is a great video! I live in a very basic house in the jungle. I don't have hot water, I don't have a kitchen, I don't even have a floor. I've wanted to do RUclips for ages but felt so uncomfortable having my basic, rustic house on camera. I have this metal detecting channel, but your video inspires me to start another channel I've wanted to do for a long time. Thank you.
Thank you! You haven’t always consider your audience. Even from your comment I’m fascinated about what life in the jungle is like so the things you may think are undesirable may actually be interesting. If you shoot anything with a modern camera phone and some light it just looks far more interesting than it does with the naked eye. Best of luck on your journey
@@AaronReactivated Thank you for taking the time to comment. I've had a fair amount of people express interest in seeing my daily life. After five years, I'm ready to do it. Your video was the push I needed. Thank you again. I've subbed to your channel and will enjoy more of your videos.
Appreciate hope this helps. This one is definitely out of my niche but i thought i might offer a more simplistic approach to the topic. Thanks for watching and if my other content isn’t for you totally understand
IMO lighting and the general color/color grade of your vid is a BIG part of it being esthetically pleasing. Great advice, I will definitely keep these tips in mind. I want to switch up my filming style alil as Ive found myself drown to certain style/look lately
Cool video. People are always asking me to give lighting tutorials, but I actually use the same lights that you use. :-) I was about to invest in some bigger more professional lights, but I realized that what I have gives me exactly what I want. Already. I used those little Neewer lights for two feature films. Lol. What I love about this video is that it breaks down the barrier that most people think stands before them. Great work, thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much, definitely wanted to make it seem simple because it is. Just takes more effort on the front end but anyone can learn, thank you for tuning in
@@fakboikardi glad this helped. This isn’t my normal content but i may make a refresher a bit down the road. If you have any specific questions feel free to leave them they may inspire a future video. Appreciate your support
Thanks! You’re right it wasn’t the video i intended to make initially but i had a conversation recently that changed my mind. I probably won’t make too many of these but i also didn’t want to rush the video i had planned. Sometimes i have to let my ideas breathe a bit and i can’t let my upload schedule force my hand. I think i found a balance with this, we’ll see how it goes. Hope this one helps, looking forward to more of your stuff

Loved this! I just started using that self portrait mode feature
I love your editing style. It’s actually really aesthetic even in an unaesthetic environment.
Thank you so much Cressida, i just try to keep it simple. So kind of you
