    Mine is duke 250 non abs all I do is ride in city I need grip on gravel since mine is non abs what is better for me Michelin pilot street or apollo alpha h1?

    • @HighwayToHill
      @HighwayToHill  3 года назад

      Michelin Pilot Street and Apollo Alpha H1 are road tyres. These are not meant for gravel but I do understand your requirement. You can get a dual purpose tyre which can provide more grip on gravel. If your choice is only between Pilot Street vs Alpha H1, get the Pilot Street. It will last longer than Alpha H1. But grip wise, both will struggle on gravel. Cheers!

    • @suryacrush778

      Gravel means there will be little bit of sand on roads right I'm taking about that not off roading currently mine are mrf they skid too much on all surface I want smtg which will provide good grip during hard breaking incase of emergencies and also grip during curves

    • @HighwayToHill

      My tyre size is
      Front - 110/70
      Rear - 150/70 (upsize from 140/70)
      Yes, you can upsize. Lot of R15 owners are on Apollo Alpha H1s. However, I'm not sure how it affects the handling + braking because R15 is so nimble and light. To answer your question in short, yes it will fit and you can upsize.

    • @HighwayToHill
      @HighwayToHill  3 года назад +1

      H1 is grippy compared to MRF Zapper so your life will reduce... You won't get 17 K mileage from H1. If you are happy with Zapper, then continue with it. H1 will be a bit costly also and tyre life will reduce. So you will take a hit in both areas.

    Very nice explanation 👌I have 2020 bs6 RC390 which is a month old. I got MRF rev tyres as stock on RC 390 , earlier we use to get Metzlers as stock. Now Iam facing some issues like braking byt is not that great, wet grip is just shitty because once i was riding from one city to another for like 60 kms and it was continues raining and i feel like tyre were loosing the grip , It was very noticeable. I then slow it down to 30km/h from 70. I want to change the tyres to Michelin pilot street . Iam very confused between Michelin and alpha H1 .. please help me out. Iam not a race guy. I do touring. Help please.

    • @HighwayToHill
      @HighwayToHill  4 года назад +1

      Totally understand. For touring you can get Michelin Pilot Street. It will give you long tyre life compared to Alpha H1 which is softer and will wear out sooner. Thanks for ur comment.

    • @anwerr718
      @anwerr718 4 года назад

      @@HighwayToHill thankyou for your attention! Are Michelin pilot good at cornering also? I saw many videos on YT they saying Michelins are not good. I just want good dry n wet grip and more confident braking power . I mean will Michelin justify the potential of RC390.

    • @HighwayToHill
      @HighwayToHill  4 года назад +1

      @@anwerr718 Michelin compromises on grip and gives more tyre life. So u must decide what is your priority. If you don't want any compromise on grip, go for Apollo, Metz or Pirelli. RC is a very aggressive track bike and if you want to extract full performance, you can get a Metz or Pirelli.

    Thank you so much for the research and this well-thought out review of these tires compared to the M5s. I have been looking for a review just like this one to know for SURE if the Apollo H1s are as safe as the M5s. I have been hesitating to pick them up cuz the money isn't the issue for me, its the safety! I'm very old now, forty freakin two years old haha! Wow!
    I own a Duke 390 and i'm almost done with my second set of M5s! A year wasted away due to Corona. And it somehow seems to have deteriorated too... my rear tire got about 7 holes in it after my ride to Ooty 2 months back b4 the Second Wave hit us. And these holes are too small to fix even!
    Your info on the layers and how they feel during the process of leaning, and the heating up, etc., all of it was extremely interesting! Sometimes i do not know when hooligan stupidity mode kicks in and i've been saved several times by the genius of ABS and i believe the M5s too.
    My friends think it was just something burned into us b4 we even got our bikes about how mind-blasting the M5s are! I think i'll make my decision based on your research and submissions in this video. Thanks man! And my apologies for this essay.. yes i talk like a chick, haha! Cheers!

    • @HighwayToHill
      @HighwayToHill  3 года назад +2

      I'm humbled. Thanks for the amazing comment. I think it's the longest ever on any of my videos 😅 I enjoyed reading.
      Have you tried the Diablo Rosso 2 's? If not, you should. A bit rounded profile which may feel kinda weird in the beginning but super sticky rubber. Downside is the tyre life. Duke's torque will wear it off in no time. So I think the Apollo H1's strike a great balance.
