HAHAHA glad someone put this together. That movie was hours of slow mo and ancient lamentations. Every time WW would even move my daughter and I would shout ANCIENT LAMENTATIONS and sure enough.........
The Ancient Lamentation Music here is supposed to express grief and sorrow in a character. Wonder Woman lost Steve twice and lost her place among the Amazon's. This music is supposed to accentuate that aspect of her character as she has a tragic past and isn't to open and social of a person. It's also a natural progression from the score of BvS. That's also why her score is at it's most powerful when she cuts of Steppenwolfs head. It's almost as if she's letting out all the grief and pain and sorrow and delivering it all in one final blow. Also because she's very old I guess
Because it got stale, it hardly changed in tone at times and added nothing to the scene. Let’s look at BvS where Superman dies, they used a lamentation as they were carrying down his body. Symbolizing the mourning cries of the magnitude of his death. This is just to make the scene more ‘badass’ but in the end was just overused and didn’t symbolize anything. They needed a little bit more time toning it back.
I agree. It never bothered me. It fit Wonder Woman very well. People exaggerated it as if this ancient lamentation music was playing constantly throughout the whole film.
I don't think it's overused but it's too close to each other. Like Part 1 has alot and Part 4 has a lot. Imo it's not evenly distributed throughout the film. But even then I don't think it's that bad. To me, it's feels more like the Amazonian theme than a Wonder Woman theme.
I love how divisive this is. I personally love it. The original score was too safe. I’d rather some love it or hate than it going unnoticed. So many super hero movies go for generic leaving no emotion at all.
