Realistic Handmade Fondant Brooches with Homemade Piping Gel Gems. Easy Way To Make a Princess Tiara

- Today I'm going to show you the easiest way to make fondant tiara, using Wilton mold, that probably every cake decorator has. If you don't have this kind of mold, you can use similar to it.
For gems I used homemade piping gel, and here is the recipe:
1/4 cup (60 gr) water
1/4 cup (85 gr) corn syrup or glucose syrup
3-4 tsp (15-20 gr) cornstarch (I used 5 tsp, and then added more water)
1/2 - 1 tsp clear flavor extract (optional)
In microwaveable bowl, mix water and cornstarch together.
Add corn syrup and , and clear flavor extract, stir until combined.
Microwave on high for 1,5 - 2 min until mixture boils and turns clear.
Remove from microwave and let cool (whisk occasionally while cooling).
Add food gel to make desired color. You may need to add water to bring the piping gel to the consistency you need.
It's best to store the piping gel in a little glass jar and keep it in a fridge
to increase its shelf life.
In general, piping gel has a short shelf life - about 2 weeks.
Piping gel is often used as a glue, when working with fondant, gum paste, and sugar cookies. You can create a water effect using piping gel (ex. a swimming pool or a waterfall decoration). The piping gel works best to stick wafer paper.
For the brooches and tiara I used Rolkem Super Gold, Bronze, and Silver Luster dust with vodka, but you can use your favorite brand.

Под прозрачным экстрактом имеется ввиду экстракт ванили, кокоса или любой Вами любимый, используемый для аромата, но непременно прозрачный, чтобы не окрасить смесь.
