@@FaresKsebati first meet done came in last on all four events but not bad for a 42 year old who never swam competitively before and against 18 year olds and two guys who swam in college! Was only a 10 second spread between last and first place on the 50 m breast stroke I did. My 11 year old daughter beat my 200 freestyle time by 20 seconds (I am proud)! Was a blast overall!
Just started swimming this year and damn I was happy going from 3:40 to 3:00 in the 200m. Need some more of these whiteboard Wednesday to keep improving. All this videos are incredibly helpful!!
Fantastic video, that set looks tough. It would be something magical if you could do this video format in the 200 fly,and an advanced training set hopefully.Thank you !
You read my mind! So been wanting a breakdown training for the 200!!! THANKS so much for this well planned & practiced video! 👍 Gonna meditate on (ALL of) this today and give it a go tomorrow!
@@FaresKsebati You nailed it! 👍 The drills were the perfect set up, the repetitions and intervals in both sets really allowed me to feel out different paces, and I found my galloping RHYTHM I see the Olympians do. Yay! This will become part of my rotation! Anyone planning on swimming a 200, give this a couple watches and try it out.
I always swam the 200 free like my hair was on fire the entire time, focusing on going all out the 3rd 50, and trying to hang on the last 50. Everybody has a different approach. It's a sprint. You have to treat it as such.

Hi Sevasti! Thanks for being part of the MySwimPro community. We're sorry to hear that you can't swim as frequently as you used to! We would advise that you try one of the USRPT plans to get a good workout in, paired with the dryland exercises. If you have any other questions, please feel free to email us at support@myswimpro.com :)
Great set and video, I was wondering given my kick is poor, can snorkels be used in the drills and if not, is there a way to improve my kick; I’ve always been poor at it through my career, although uniquely on freestyle kick, on back, fly and breast I’m about average at the kick for my relative skill. Thanks :)
Good question! Snorkels are a great piece of equipment for technique! Many drills focus on slowing down the arms and using the legs, so this is a great chance to focus on your kick. If you can, try to do more kick sets when you train and focus on small, fast kicks with and without a board. Hope this helps :)
Hi hi what do you think the varainace\ drop off should be for the 200 backstroke, 200 butterfly and 200 breaststroke be based on the information that you stated in the video?
Hii! So i know this is a yaer after youve posted this meaning you may not see this however i jusy wanted to say THANKYOU for this! Im a much younger yet extremely competitive swimmer and this helped me drop aroind 15 seconds off my pb! (which wanst an old one!) so thankyou so so much for this! - i only watched this around an hour before my race so this was VERY helpful! As iwill say i wasnt having the best day , although im not sure if youve already done one but so you think you ciuld do anh videos on things such as 400 Im?
Not sure if you were mostly kidding or being serious. If it’s the latter definitely work on getting that dps as low as possible. Preferably less than 7 (in a 25m pool). That leads to the second thing, pullouts. I had a swimmer who graduated this past year. His speed wasn’t great but was able to still go 0:59 in the 100 yard. He killed it on the pullouts.

More videos on 200m free ..... please
Could we breathe every 3?
Dropped 5 seconds in my 200 freestyle after watching this video. Thank you for sharing this info!
That's awesome! Keep up the hard work and have fun :)
The 200 free is like the 400m in track. Torturous!
Definitely closer to the 800m i think
Yeah it’s more like the 800, which is way more painful than the 400
@@_R_R_R i was thinking the same, 400 is not so painful if you have some endurance, but even when i was fittest the 800 were always suffering
The 100m is much closer to the 400m in track
Ur crazy bruh
Doing my first ever 200 race ever at age 42 at my first meet on Saturday! Thanks. For having these videos
Good luck and have fun! You're gonna do great :)
