We love and miss you Srg. Seeing this video makes me sad but happy for you at the same time, you deserve it. You brought so much to the table and our department. Words can't express how much we lost out on when we lost you. You had so much knowledge and spent the majority of your time on the streets with us when you didn't have to, we have more gratitude for that than you will ever know. You were a great mentor, a great Sgt, and a great man. I regret only having the opportunity to work for you for such a short time, but I learned more from you in that short time than I have from anyone else, no exaggeration. I could write an essay if RUclips would let me, but sometimes less is more. I'm happy for you Srg, I wish we had more time with you, we love you.
I miss you guys more than you'll ever know. Leaving yall was the hardest part. Keep your head on a swivel. I pray for yalls safety often.
Wow! The LORD led me right to you, tonight. 7 years ago, we left our 1 acre and run down house on Hwy 65 between Leslie and Clinton to move back to NW Arkansas into my dad's house. Our sister in Christ is doing her best to buy our place in Clinton and homestead it. I'll have to share this video with her. We're now on 2 1/2 acres of rocky hillside, but hope to possibly own more acreage and to homestead. God bless and keep you and shout out to your kids on their endeavors. We raised dachshunds in Clinton and I am hoping to raise Nigerian goats, too.🙏🏼✝️🤗
Glad we found your channel we ain’t to far away and love the Ozarks
Really? Where at?
@@ozarksrealtor we are In Cave City AR
Just moved the Ozarks to months ago. Ready to kick off my new 30 acre homestead. Thanks for sharing.
congrats. transitions can be tough, but usually worth it in the end. when you watch the news, it just makes sense to homestead in these insane times.
I would like a couple of ackers in the Ozarks with a small house. Close to a Christian church
Sounds good to me too it just the money on my part
God bless the boys & girls in blue...y'all do a thankless job mostly while putting your lives and your family's lives on the line...I wish y'all the best in the natural state...and TTL y'all got out safe from the Zombie Appocolypse..!
Very thankless job with too many hours, too few coworkers, and permanent invisible scars that can last a lifetime.
Love your video, I just found your channel and subscribed. I work as an officer in the court system in Chicago. The crime here is out of control . My dream is to retire somewhere in the Ozarks. Two things stopping me is I’ll be 65 years old when I retire and I’ll be moving alone and away from everything I know. I’ll contact you when I’m ready to buy, I’m going to making trips to various areas to see if I will like living there.
I'll meet you for coffee and we can talk shop. Stay strong.
@@ozarksrealtor that sounds great!
Just found you on RUclips and so grateful! My husband and I just sold it all to move us to MO ozarks area probably right next door to you. We are staying in a 30ft travel trailer on 11 acres starting the building of our dream little homestead. Thank you for speaking so much truth and leading people to the true way of living. I'm so excited to be on this journey leading our little kiddos and working hard for the things we have and being grateful.
Looking to get a dairy cow, chickens, peacocks, and bees. Dreaming big and taking beautiful risks to lead my family to a more wholesome life. This world is full of evil, temptation and non stop consuming and spending to die sick and broke from a bad lifestyle. I am so grateful for the homesteading community people in this area are beyond words of loving and kind. Live the word and steward. I totally suggest moving here buy land you won't regret it.
Agreed. Glad yall are doing it. It's not easy, but so worth it. We did bees for a while but kept losing hives
@@ozarksrealtor I am sorry that's tragic. I have no experience with my own hives just helping our previous neighbors with theirs and they alllllways lost the hives. So I started learning from Dr. Leo Sharashkin he has some great books and invented the horizontal hive. I met him at a conference this past month and he spoke alot about hive loss and how it is from buying bees. He is a huge sworm catching advocate as then the bees are already adapted to the area and surroundings plus well more cost friendly especially in the long run with how many hives people loose.
Dr. Leo is local to the area also and you can do hands on workshops at his facility. I hope to buy my supplies from him soon he said I could pickup and save tons for shipping and do a workshop while there.
I love going through Mountain View to Leslie and hit 65 to Marshall and head to Witt Springs, beautiful country.

What a great video. God bless brother!
Thank you.
My dad told me, you can do anything if you have the want to.
Thank you. My husband and I have 4 foster kids that we can't leave. As soon as we can, we are bringing our family down south. We can't wait!!!
The natives will dislike you if you bring your northern attitude & ways with you. Bumperstickers read: Yankee Go Home.
First off, thank you for your service!! Secondly, I'm an Army Veteran and you just inspired me! You motivated me more than I can describe. Thank you brother. God bless you and your family.
More than welcome and thank you for your service. I recently heard someone say that the fear of loss is greater than the hope of something good. I think that is human nature and something we HAVE TO overcome.
@@ozarksrealtor I completely agree.
What a wonderful story. You are making a positive difference in our country.
Wow this was a great video brother. Thank you for the insights.
What a great story. I watched this video twice. He absolutely has done the right thing.
Best move for my family!
If I win the lottery I'm buying some land in the Ozarks to live as a hermit in prayer and work. God bless you and your family.
I'm proud of you for having the guys and you are safe 😉
Meant guts not guys
👍🏼Great video
Searcy County is an amazing place. Getting better with folks like you moving in. My wife and I built here in 2004. Love our life here
Agreed.
Thank you for sharing your story! very inspiring story we did the exact same thing just six months ago!! We moved from Florida! Sold everything and just took the leap!! We love it here in the ozarks. We were just drawn here it's like heaven on Earth😊. We are also learning as we go. Some days are hard but it's all worth it. We're also trying to build up our RUclips channel everything takes time.
Agreed. It's not easy taking that leap!
Welcome to Arkansas Jonathan. Wonderful story from a wonderful place. We live on a farm about an hour south of you and routinely enjoy trips to the Marshall area. You and your family’s effort to return to the land is admirable and I wish you much success in that regard. It reminds me of an ol’ Hank Williams Jr. song, A Country Boy Can Survive. Good luck and may God bless you. It would be good to meet you sometime.
Thank you sir. We are so very blessed. Next time you're in the area hit me up for a bite to eat.
excellent vid
Thx
We moved here January 1st and really love it here n wouldn't ever change a thing
Pfft
Well.... How is life in the Ozarks treating you? I moved to Arkansas in 2011 and I love it.
We had a rough start, but it's amazing. So worth it! Working on the rotational grazing today.
Sharing your video to others. You’re really good at videos. You always had an eye for content.
Hi. My brother lives in Marshall in town.
We love it here
Just found you, welcome home. I'm in Arkansas too. Sending love and light.
Thank you for posting this video
So proud for you and you’re family!! We have one life to live.... do it your way !!!❤❤❤
Good morning brother blessings you stick with it you you have no idea how much people you are encouraging thank you so much for your videos keep going brother keep going keep trusting keep believing keep your faith keep pushing thank you for doing your bit to encourage others blessings
Great message JD. Too many in this world are afraid of living.
Yes, we humans are. If we only fully understood out father in heaven...
thank you for sharing...
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us on my post in the move to Arkansas group. I will share this with my husband. We want to do this. This is what we have talked about for a long while. And just like you...we need to take that first step. Thank you and look forward to possibly meeting you one day. Hugs!!!
United we stand! We can all learn from each other. It would be great to meet one day. @ozarkmountainlife
Great story. My wife and I did the same. Learning as we go and loving and hating every minute of it. Right where we are meant to be.
Truth-- "loving and hating every minute"
i am a full time firefighter in louisiana and have been looking to home steading in ozarks when i retire, i do jeep overlanding trips and love it so home steading would be a great retirement. my eyes have been on ozarks and been doing overland trips around that area looking around.
It's the perfect place for overlanding. We have so much to offer in the outdoors. A great place for off grid remote living in the Ozarks.
for sure one of my top 5 picks. love it. i would like to find 50 to 70 acers with a creek on property.

Thank you for the video and God bless your family.🙏🙏🌹😍
You are welcome. God bless!
Thx for inspiration!
Good for you taking that huge step.
This video was a gift from God... confirmation that dreams are possible.
It has not been easy, but we'll worth it.
I love your story! Thank God you survived law enforcement........no looking back, best of luck to you and your family! Looking right now for land in AR or TN, put your real estate info on RUclips.
I had changed brokerages so my info is on the new videos. Feel free to reach out anytime @ 870 221 3674
Lived in central Arkansas for a long time. I’ll admit that we get so sick and tired of people from blue states moving here. If all were like you, it would be okay.
I understand. Most from blue states are trying to escape what they were born and raised in and are not bringing that with them, but I understand keeping things they way they are and not too crowded. We absolutely love it here!
@@ozarksrealtor Amen, from near Mt. Ida.
We moved to NE AR this year. We left Arizona and moved to a 35 acre property with a forest and creek. There is a lot of work to do but I’ve lived in a rural area before. I love hard work. I’m just happy being able to raise my son in a safe place.
Agreed. This was the best move for our kids. My oldest want to move back here also. God bless!
Well, I made it out to the Midwest about 6 years ago. I'm in one of the metro areas. I kind of wish I had gone to the Ozarks and did some homesteading even on a small scale. The job that brought me out here was short lived. I find myself wondering if maybe I should give things another look that way.
Like our pastor said when we were looking to move here, "go until you hear no."
Motivation bro keep going we appreciate you
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks!
Keep it up JD!
Moving ahead one day at a time.
I’m thinking of relocating and I’m looking at the Ozarks. Thank you for the inspirational talk here because this would be a risk for me but I know my kids and I can make it. I just don’t know where to go and don’t have a real estate agent so if you have your information out there somewhere, let me know. As soon as my house sells here, I am relocating with my children and eight animals. Thanks again for the peptalk❤🙏 Good luck to you and your family in your future endeavors and adventures.

This is exactly the life the institutions do NOT want you living. Good job, I have been looking for a similar opportunity.
Agreed. They can control you when you supply your own. Its not easy, but so rewarding.
Great story. Love your videos.
Thank you. More coming soon.
Try connecting with grass fed homestead on youtube he is super nice and was in law enforcement and went through the big change to homestead.
Would love Tobe your neighbor
Thank for share your wonderful journey. My husband used to be a police in California too. Can you explain to us or make a video how is to buy a farm in foreclosure?, can we find one in Arkansas?
There are several websites hosting foreclosures. Feel free to get ahold of me and I'll share what I know.
As a former Lieutenant I feel you and will be making a blessed more soon, very soon.
Thanks for your service. This higher up you go in LE, the harder it gets...politics.
@ozarkmountainlife agreed. I need to be with fellow Jesus followers who value Truth. Simple man here.
Howdy neighbor - newton Co Arkansas here ... My middle son is master at arms Navy - welcome
Tell him "thank you" for his service!
This is what I want to do. I recently got a dui, only 21 and I realized it’s because life kicking me around. I have just over 90k and I think I’m going to jump right into homesteading.
Life has really kicked me around the last couple of years. One hour at a time, then one day at a time, then one day, you're on the other side of it.
@@ozarksrealtor that’s awesome man, thanks for your service though. I look forward to having the entrepreneur mindset as well. I want to farm fish and operate a contracting business. Who needs to have neighbors or waste money on renting.
Great Job! I'm impressed that you got this up and running on the outskirts of a cool little Small Town like that. I'd love to do this too.
I heard that there were Properties in Arkansas that the State has been Auctioning Off to recover back-Taxes owed and I looked at a few.
Have you heard about this? What are your thoughts on that? Do you know of any parcels available through Foreclosure Suitable for Homesteading in your area that we could talk about?
I Grew up next in a Crime Ridden Area next to Washington DC. and moved to Western Central Virgina by Charlottesville with the Idea that I might do the same thing there, but it's just gotten so expensive here.
Please, can help us to find farm land or farm in foreclosure?
I am sad that society is pushing away good police officers. In 10 years, I am afraid what the crime rates are going to look like.
I am hopeful that citizens will stand up and fight back. The pendulum will swing back again...hopefully sooner than later.
The Ozarks are not for everyone. You really have to love nature and respect the culture. First off, if you grew up and lived in the City don't go telling your neighbors how to live here. Some of them are going to be shooting their guns now and then. A lot of them will have dogs that run free and they might poop in your yard, but don't whine about that to their owners, there are good reasons we let our dogs run free here. Don't complain when the power goes out after a storm, be prepared to hunker down for a few days instead because it will happen. The rural roads are narrow and windy and they get slick in the rain and snow and especially ice, so you really have to slow way down or just wait it out when that happens. Don't nuke your yard with pesticides because you got bit by a tick. You are going to get tick bit, so learn to treat your clothes with permethrin instead, and check for them being on you, and learn how to remove them, and how to manage your yard to keep them down to a minimum.
Hey is 40k down enough ? I doubt it . If it is im really interested
Have you spoken with any lenders? With that much down, you are highly likely to get some sort of financing for the rest.
This is what people do...make a video about a sweet place to live...everyone watches the video and wants to move there....people move there and its not so sweet anymore.
How's the chocolate rolls? Or do you not know about them yet?
I'm embarrassed to admit we have been here almost 4 years and I still haven't tried one.
I think that the cafe in Leslie has won the contest many times, you should try them, they are very tasty, for what it's worth, Searcy County is the Chocolate Roll Capital of the World .@@ozarksrealtor
Methinks it's the red river cafe not the skylark, can't racall, love your videos.
I am moving off grid. I am a recovering addict and have 8 years clean. The politics and society in general is to fast and way to much slang.
Congrats! That is not easy!
Nothing as expensive as hindsight regret. Live while you can
I’ve been i law enforcement in Northern Colorado for about seven years. It is time to get out. We have been looking at properties in northern Arkansas I’d love to chat with you about buying property and starting my homestead. Send me a message I look forward to hearing from you.
Call me anytime. 870 221 3674. Seven years in LE is a long time. I did 11 years and it has taken its toll on me and my family.
You and everyone other outlander in the entire nation. It won't be a nice place for long. Too many people already moving in.
God clearly directed us to watch this video. I am fairly sure we have just found our real estate agent. I'll keep the short story short here, as it is time for work. LOL
If I can help in any way...
Do you have an email? VERY SIMILAR situation. Looking to possibly relocate from Alaska. Many thanks! 💙

What is it with all these 'deer blinds'? Are you people not man enough to 'hunt' on foot, on the ground?
"Man enough" has nothing to do with it. Concealment for the kids who can't sit still.
I'm looking at moving to the Ozarks as soon as I can find a place. I am single however and don't know if there is any chance at all for me to homestead alone? Do you know of anyone who would to partner up? I'm ready to move now.
I've watched the culling of America for years. Thank you for your encouragement.
You can do it...slowly. making the move is the hardest part. Once you are here, you can start w chickens and feel it out as you go. It's a very rewarding life. There are people here who love to see newcomers learn and grow. There are many FB pages to glean info from.
Too many people here already.
I would love to get in contact with you for dogs and goats. If you could email me, I would love for you to reach out to me.
