    I love Korg Kronos I think he's still deserve the title of most powerful workstation, because of the amount of things they can do given the time and dedication it takes to master. I haven't found anything as powerful to this day.

    The KRONOS2 is simply a normal INTEL CPU based low powered PC with ~4GB RAM running #LINUX with Korgs proprietary sound / sample engines and a GUI on top. The Display is a autonomous daughter board attached via USB to the PC, including the Audio Interface . So in theory it should be easy to replace and upgrade "it's heart" . However Korg made it unnecessary hard for us to repair and replace parts, due to attempts on illegally modified GPL licensed open source components without documentation and laying open those modifications. Their more modern Systems still run on Linux i think. But it's more likely they perfected their attempt to lock down and "encrypt" more stuff, so you will never be able to really "own" your device in whole.
