Your recipes are so easy to follow & turn out perfectly every time! You are the perfect cookery tutor, until I found your channel I could burn a salad!! I made your ultimate cauliflower cheese last night, an absolute hit! I’ve already been asked today when am I making it again! Thank you so much for getting me interested in & genuinely enjoying my new found love of cooking, all credit to you!
My Mom used to make a simpler version, but we loved it. This recipe looks splendiferous! Mustard I can understand, but the nutmeg’s intriguing. I’ll go with cheddar and parmesan for the flavors. Your sauce sounds so rich! Your videos inspire and always cheer me up ❤️🇺🇸
I "like" your videos within the first minute, Cheryl. And I have to say that your voice is so wonderful. It's always very soothing but in the times we're in, it's even more so. Taking a seven-and-a-half-minute break listening to you is just what I need right now
Thanks! Never thought of roasting the cauliflower. I usually boil it, but will try roasting next time. I even managed to buy a cauliflower at the supermarket, so all good!
Excellent but I tried this “spaced out” like you said and I didn’t manage to actually cook the food cause I was out of it.... so I tried again the next day without being spaced out and it went much better ! Thanks for the recipe
Hello Cheryl, this is Catherine from Ireland🇮🇪, a new patron 😊going to try this Califlower Cheese it looks lovely, you been giving me great ideas for the family Dinner's.❤
Now is a good time to learn some easy basic recipes like this and others that Cheryl has. That cheese sauce on its own would be great in the morning over toast with maybe a scrambled egg. Have fun learning Sophie, you won't regret it.
Delicious looking meal. I love all of it and the funny thing is I just watched another video just before this one and the lady had beets as well (with a pork chop dinner). Thanks for sharing this recipe. Have a Blessed day.
I love this recipe. I'm definitely going to make it. What's even better is it's simple enough that I can downsize it for one. I'm the only one in the house who likes cauliflower. We live off grid thus no electricity which means no freezer. Otherwise, I'd make a whole recipe and freeze it into portions to be reheated.
Just discovered your channel. Thank you so much. I'm going to try this cauliflower cheese. I would never have thought about raising he cauli first. It definitely makes sense, as that watery feeling does split the sauce. You narration was lovely to listen to. I will be back for more!
I was looking for a proper recipe for cauliflower cheese, and of course you came up trumps Cheryl. Your channel never disappoints, you deserve millions of subs and I'm sure will soon get them, your food is just fabulous. British classics at their absolute best! Genius idea to roast the cauliflower. I always struggle to drain every last drop of water from steamed/boiled cauliflower florets, resulting in those dreaded pools of water spoiling your lovely cheese sauce. Thanks so much for another great tip!
Awesome! In my macaroni cheese I use condensed tomato soup undiluted as a paste, and chopped non smoked back bacon fried with garlic. It doesn't spoil the dish but every so often you get a gem of a taste of garlic. I suppose I should call it 'cheese and tomato macaroni'.
It might make it too salty with the bacon already in there but my first thought with cauliflower and cheese sauce would be to crush cheese Ritz crackers on the top instead of the Panko crumbs.... I looooooooooove cauliflower and cheese so either way would be fantastic! Heather xo
I made an enormous batch yesterday with cauliflower from the garden but added a mixture of smoked cheddar & Parmesan …. all stored in the freezer for winter along with bags of cauliflower rice ….
I look forward every day to watching your channel. Where can I purchase your tins for the scotch pies ? I am in the U.S .but don`t mind ordering from the UK. Thanks. Muriel
You get me every time you say if we are watching our weight to pass on the recipe...I wish I could say I listen 😂😂 the boys here love cheese I'll have to make this.
We have a few vegetarians in the family, and I'm always looking for vegetarian dishes to take to family potlucks that everyone will like. This (minus the bacon) looks perfect!! 😀😀

Looks good. This could be keto quite easily just swap out the flour with xantham gum and the bread crumbs with ground up pork rinds also use water and a small amount of cream instead of milk. Great job Cheryl and Dorothy got home safe and sound. She just has to go through her quarantine for 14 days.
Yummy ;0), thanks from the USA My favorite pastor, who is from Scotland to whom I listen to on the radio and also online, is Alistair Begg, he lives in Cleveland, Ohio, he is one of the best I have ever heard. ;0).
This recipe looks very good. I bet it would be excellent with broccoli in it too. I love broccoli and cauliflower together. Have you ever made this with crushed up potato chips/crisps on top?
Any tips on using frozen veggies? I want to use a bag of frozen cauli/broccoli that I've had kicking around for a little while but am not sure if it would roast well.
This looks seriously good (I'm pretending the bacon is facon because I'm veggie). Will try to make this after all this madness has calmed down and we can all go shopping normally again. Stay safe Cheryl 😊🤞😷
Looks so so yummy! I have a wee request..... Do u remember creamola rice? Was ground rice custard milky pudding omg I would love if u could do a copy recipe xx
New subscriber today!!! It’s been a bit of a journey. You see, I am American and my wonderful British husband grew up with a cheesy cauliflower dish that his father made nearly every Sunday while he was a child. Our beloved Father passed on 10 years ago but fortunately he typed up his recipe decades ago and sent it to a family member who had requested it. The only problem for me was when we received the recipe in a very thoughtful email, it contained instructions for rashers of bacon, onions and nothing more!!! The rest of the recipe was, sadly, mistakenly left off. My husband and I recently had a hankering for Cauliflower and he had asked me, can we make Pa’s recipe for cheesy cauliflower? Well, what was I to do??? I told my husband, without the rest of the recipe I could only guess, but of course I would do my best to figure it out. I spent the past 2 days, several hours each day poring over and watching YT postings for a recipe that sounded like...what little I had in writing...and what my husband described from his childhood memory. Then today, this morning, luck had struck! You and your magnificent recipe came up in my feed! I knew instantly that your recipe would perhaps be my best chance for something very close to, if not an altogether wonderful experience for my husband. As an American, bacon...rashers...etc...we’re not in my lexicon of understanding, but I love learning about the things in life that I hadn’t known before, so I had to search what 3 rashers was in both quantity and quality. I quickly realized I had nothing immediately available to me that would be of an equal standard, however, I was able to find an exceptional quality of thickly cut “streaky bacon” and proceeded with your recipe. You made the instructions simple and as I am not new to cooking, it was smooth going. I had different cheeses on hand, but I knew that this really didn’t matter so much. In my quest to make my husband happy with his favorite childhood dish and to bring back his wonderful memories of his Father along with happy family times spent together, I set out to find a recipe that seemed similar. YOU...YOUR recipe became the bridge to make that happen. When I pulled it out of the oven, with exited anticipation was exhilarating as the aroma was amazing. I placed a portion of this wonderful dish, after waiting for it to cool sufficiently, which seemed like an eternity, I finally placed a plated portion in my husband’s hands. He tasted it and instantly said, “OUTSTANDING “! I had no expectations that it would be exactly as he remembered, but the enjoyment he had in experiencing a truly delicious dish was very rewarding for me and made my wonderful Husband very satisfied!! As I said, new subscriber, I thank you very much and I am looking forward to trying your other recipes which also look very good to me!!! God Bless you and be well! Forever grateful!!! ❤️💕❤️
Would this work with a mix of, say, broccolli and peas? My wife won't touch cauliflower but I really like the look of your recipe and method. Great work by the way!
What a lovely Ayrshire accent😍 I'm definitely going to try this recipe. This looks great and as we say in Scotland. "That will put hairs on your chest" 🤣🤣

DemeterMedi *Looks wonderful! We loved it with my mother in law*? We have mashed tatties and peas with our cauliflower cheese.
Made this for yesterday's tea, served with baked, battered haddock. Truly scrumptious and healthier than chips.
Yummy! Aren't Panko the best? I agree with you. I use them alot. Love the crunch!!! I'm making this tonight!

Oh delicious and I can't wait to try.
Looks amazing! Could make it for Easter, if I can get cauliflower. The craziness is happening in Australia 🇦🇺 also!
I love this recipe. I'm definitely going to make it.
What's even better is it's simple enough that I can downsize it for one.
I'm the only one in the house who likes cauliflower.

This looks fantastic! I cannot wait to try. I love added panko breadcrumbs or crushes crisps and cheese on top of dishes 🤩

Thanks for this ! - As a veggie, a little dash of Smoked Paprika will work for flavour , but just a little !
I made an enormous batch yesterday with cauliflower from the garden but added a mixture of smoked cheddar & Parmesan …. all stored in the freezer for winter along with bags of cauliflower rice ….

Amazing. Am trying this next.
You get me every time you say if we are watching our weight to pass on the recipe...I wish I could say I listen 😂😂 the boys here love cheese I'll have to make this.
It looks good. Since I don't like cooked cauliflower, but love raw cauliflower, I would just make the cheese sauce and dip my cauliflower in that.
We have a few vegetarians in the family, and I'm always looking for vegetarian dishes to take to family potlucks that everyone will like. This (minus the bacon) looks perfect!! 😀😀
I find that going to marks and spencer and buying one is much easier and it does help when you don't have the ingredients, plus it's yum yum
Lol

Looks delish! How mach is a “rasher” of bacon? And is English Mustard just like spicy mustard (brown mustard)?
a rasher is just a slice of bacon :) im not entirely sure about the mustard though :P

Is it possible to substitute the bacon with chicken or beef?
Do I need to cover by silver paper?
