Would it make sense to get a wheel with negative offset instead of using spacers? It accomplishes the same thing, right? I'm wheel shopping for my GE8. Your Fit looks great! Right now I'm thinking 16x7 , -45 offset and 205/50s. Something along those lines...
It is also possible to use the negative offset wheel instead of the wheel spacers, but not all aftermarket wheels can be accurately fitted to the vehicle. The high accuracy of the wheel spacers can make it easier to achieve the effect you need. and the price will be more affordable.
Thank you for sharing. I am planning to place similar wheel spacers on my 2018 Ford Fusion SE. I noticed that your wheel studs stuck out from the holes on the spacer. I have viewed several videos that say that it is bad for your wheel studs to stick out from the wheel spacer, because it keeps the wheel from sitting flat on the wheel spacer. Was that an issue you experienced? How did you get your wheel to sit flat against the wheel space even tough your wheel studs were sticking out from the wheel spacer?
Usually, there are grooves on the back of the wheel hub, and the depth of the grooves can accommodate the protruding length of the original wheel studs, direct installation will not cause safety problems. If the studs protrude too long, you need to cut the original wheel studs or replace it with thicker wheel spacers to solve this problem.
Thanks for this video
thanks for the video. this is actually easier than I thought :O
My stock tires are 185/55/16. Would you recommend me to switch to 205/55/15
