A note about the 15mm spacers. Due to being only 15mm thick these spacers use a special nut unlike the other thicknesses; this is to insure that the entire nut sits just below the surface that the wheel will bolt onto. Only your hub's stud threads should protude above the surfae into your wheel's voids.

Should probably ask why they didn't do that from the factory. Sure it looks better, but does it affect handing or tire wear, particularly at speed? I'd guess one or both. As a comment mentioned, you're better off just getting different wheels with the offset you want instead of half-assing it with spacers. They also sell hormone blockers for kids. Just because someone sells something doesn't make it a worthwhile product. Love to hear spacer-selling bros discuss their engineering testing and why the Honda factory got it wrong. Use at your own risk I'd guess would be the answer. Ahh, I just leave my stock wheels right against the hub, thanks.

    • @MoisesEmpire
      @MoisesEmpire  10 месяцев назад +3

I can't speak for honda as to way they didnt do it but my guess is region regulations. Like with all cars, if the manufacturer wants to be able to sell it in certain places of the world, the car needs to meet certain specs.... Handling shouldn't really be affected since 15mm is so minimal and as long as your car gets an alighnment, tire wear should be normal. In my case my car is not daily driven and only sees about 4k miles a year so even if any bad changes to the way it drives were to occur, I wouldn't notice it and aftermarket wheels will be coming at some point. Did the spacers for now because I got them for free and makes the car look better.

Older cars (like my Z) have 15" wheels that are only 6.5" wide with 60 series tires. I could not find good performance tires in my size any longer so I went with 17" wheels that are 1" wider. 15mm spacers allowed the new wheels to sit properly on the car due to the difference in offset between the two. My tires went from 215 to 225 --- so you can see I'm not going crazy. Overall diameter is less than 1% difference. For me these are a godsend. I'm keeping the tire load between my inner and outer wheel bearings, so there should be no ssues. And yes, I'm having a proper alignment done. There is a proper way to do this type of work.

What a fail. Doesn't even torque it down and is using those stupid spacers that bolt onto the existing lugs. Changes the geometry of the suspension creates more wear and tear on the ball joints and the wheel bearings and even the axles since it's bringing the wheel out farther from the hub. But do what you got to do for a "look" I see a plastic wrap all over your car also so it all makes sense. 😂

If you are putting wider wheels on the car (say from 6" to 7") just be sure to keep the cross secton center of the wheel between your inner and outer bearings. You can then adjust camber/caster so that the tire sits flat on the road. Do the above and you should be fine. It's only an issue if you go with too much spacer thickness (or too wide a wheel) and push your tire's load well outside of both wheel bearings.
