Thanks for the video, last year, I lived in the Jomtien area close to Pattaya for 6 months and my monthly budget was $3K and that's with companionship with a regular Thai lady for 3x a week and not buying any lady drinks and barfines. Been eating Thai foods in the market not western food. I was planning to retire but changed my mind in the last minute. In my early 50's now and back to work in CA. Will do this again, next year.
Woulld you say if i want to stay in a decnet 2-3 star hotel and spend mod amount on food likee 700-800 bht on 2 meals a day, including food, trarnsportation and hotel, would you say i can surrvivve ethailand with $400 for 12 days inlcudinng food 2 meeaels a day, transportation and hotel and other expenses?
I would recommend to save for longer so you can visit with a higher budget. With only $400 for 12 days, you would need to stay in very inexpensive (1 star) accommodations. And you would not have much extra to enjoy yourself. IMHO, better to wait and save for longer so you can really have a comfortable stay and not worry about budgeting so much.
Do you have any tips on how to work remotely in thailand? Is there a field i can enter without needing experience or education? Even making 500usd a week would be plenty. Thanks
Surely, it would make more sense to find a remote tech job and live in bkk. Like im a developer in tech, working for a uk comoany that allows me to live in bkk
It would. That’s what I was originally going for, however, I found that many cybersecurity jobs based in the U.S., even if remote, would not let me work from outside the U.S..

@@sirwilliamelliott Yes, as I watch Thailand videos on RUclips I am seeing this as well. Anything seems better than what I am paying to live now in the states. Literally thousands as opposed to hundreds. Owning my own home here is sucking the life force from me while all life seems to be about is striving to keep up with never ending inflation and exploitation. My senior dog keeps me here yet will come to Bangkok asap as videos like yours help and it’s good to also see someone showing how much one also can spend when not simply trying to budget. First, I congratulate you on not making a backpacker "I can live on less than $1,000 per month" video. On the other hand, $3k/month is a middle class budget, at best. An upper middle class budget would be twice that much. You're living comfortably, and that's great. As a reference, ex-pats working in Thailand for an international company like Chevron or Unilever make $20-$30k/month. Ex-pats for these companies make the same basic salary that they would in the US plus a ton of subsidies (I used to get $5,000/month as a housing allowance) which doubles or triples their US income.
What a cringe comment. $3k/month absolutely is upper middle IN THAILAND lol. Doesn't matter what your finance buddies make. Do you know how averages work? 😂
$1220 for food??? What the h3ll are you eating? Are you secretly feeding an entire village in Thailand each month?! $600 per month on food would be sufficient.
As a Thai person, that amount is expected if you ordered food via grab/food panda for non-thai food as he mentioned. Or even Thai food, those apps charges up the price about 30% from normal. It’s people choice and Bangkok has various options.

Who ransacked your condo unit??? Did you call the police?
I did 😂
They were very confused
That's good!! Shoot... in the states that would cost $7K easily.
Excellent video -very helpful 🙏🏻
Thank you! Glad it was helpful!
Bro love the video. I may be moving there in the next year, if your still around we should sling some MTG :)

That’s actually in Singapore at a Thai restaurant behind the Capri hotel.

I was in the middle of moving out that day. I finish packing my stuff and move out at the end of the video
SURELY you are getting scammed on your electricity? are you paying directly to the city? that seems absurdly high
I thought the same thing, but I checked with other people living in the building and theirs is similar.

Tiny living space. Choking pollution. No yard. No nature. I consider this low class living.
This is a peasant’s budget. Unsubscribed.
comical
you guys a lazy to cook and buy groceries why??
Because it takes so much time. Also, It's more expensive to buy groceries and cook here than to eat out.
