Are you serious? You came to Singapore with Singaporean stereotypes in mind and you feel upset about the fact that we don’t live up to your preconceptions? You list out all these points about how Singapore is so boring and so sanitised and other countries in Asia are more worth visiting, and because you measure Singapore up against these countries in aspects that Singapore isn’t known for. We certainly cannot compete with other countries in terms of nightlife, probably not in public transportation and what not. And you want to see creativity? Venture outside your little bubble of the CBD and actually take a look at how people live, work, their neighbourhoods. Stop complaining about highbrow restaurants being exorbitantly expensive when affordable and dare I say, creative hawker meals are literally everywhere outside of the CBD. And frankly, you seem to be completely confused of who this video is targetted to. You say that Singapore can’t compete with other countries culturally, because all these cultures have mixed and the cultural experience here is like a taste test, and it is better to just be fully immersed. But you say that this country isn’t suited to a first time traveller in Asia? A first time traveller in Asia who is only proficient in English? Who will be way out of depth “immersing” themselves in a culture that they’ve only known from whatever is written online? A first time traveller isn’t looking to drown in the deep end, they are looking to dip their toes in to feel out what they would like to explore in Asia. You complain about Singapore being too sanitised, but frankly, I feel like you’ve sanitised your own experience by being too close minded. You literally view Asia as a place of exoticness, to have fun and whatnot and okay fair, but don’t disparage us because you feel like you can’t have your crazy kind of fun here. It’s like going to New York and evaluating your experience there by fast food and saying “Wow, it’s not worth visiting because I can eat this at home too!” Well, duh. You did say at the start that this was your opinion only which is valid but don't go shouting in the camera every time saying "SINGAPORE IS SO BORING" or "THATS WHY U SHOULDNT GO TO SINGAPORE" . Also you keep mentioning Japan it kind of feels like you are biased. Also bars and clubs close early and Singapore doesn't encourage very rowdy parties its to make Singapore cleaner more organized and safer for others. You lost a sub.

I'm relocating from Tokyo to Singapore next year for business. Tokyo is extremely culturally rich and beautiful. But Singapore has the best business environment in the world, despite the high cost of living. The taxes are so much lower in Singapore. As a tourist, choose Japan over Singapore 10/10 times.

it seems like you only traveled within the city and Central Business District area which is only a tiny portion of Singapore try leaving the city area. i agree that Singapore is expensive however just so you know hawker food and Singlish is the culture of Singapore (FYI hawkers are not street food really cos there's a ton of rules only one place serves food on the street in Singapore ) calling Singapore a 'sanitized' version of other countries in Asia is really insulting to the harmony of different races that came together to form Singapore and the countries in question basically it comes down to -explore outside the main city area -Singapore is it's own country with non mono-cultured people -Singapore isn't as old as other Asian countries -most people when traveling want to know how safe and how clean a place is so they don't get robbed, scammed or catch diseases

I think you should try and visit again and have a local friend if you can find one show you around. while i agree it's boring and wouldn't want to come here for more than a few days. There is actually lots of culture in singapore it's just that it's hard to access an authentic local experience as a tourist here because of how the government markets singapore to the outside world as west meets asia. So city can seem almost white washed in certain aspects compared to other places in asia especially around the cbd which most tourist never leave. no hate to you in anyway and i totally agree with where your coming from in video because government definitely markets singapore as like a perfect utopia to outside world. also singapore is boring in a sanitised way not a cultural way which i think is a very important nuance.
