I live in Buffalo and although the Buffalo China factory is now closed down, I was able to take a tour of the old factory and they were also selling off all the old stock for cheap. Many of the pieces they made were restaurant ware, thus the nice thickness of the pieces. On the factory tour we saw a large pit where they used to just throw any rejects. We were each given a saucer to throw and told that the majority of them would not break because they were made so well. Much of the restaurant dishes were white although we saw many pieces that had designs or the restaurants name on them. Also made at this factory was a line called Buffalo Pottery and I have a few antique pieces of what was called Deldare which is brown with old time English village and hunt scenes. Just thought you would like to know a bit about the Buffalo factory.

I collect cookbooks. I found a Pioneer Woman cookbook I didn’t have and was excited to find it. I get it home…and it is a signed copy! So happy to have discovered this extra bit of treasure. 🥰

I love watching your videos!!!! Your last trip to goodwill was great. OMG I saw plates and saucers that I have been looking for. They were in the 59 cents shelves. I have 2 plates and 2 bowls left. They are the Gardening Season 1996 ironstone. I had to show my husband, he couldn't believe it. On the same shelf with the Christmas tree plates. Wish I was thete. Would have bought those. Love your Goodwill.

The cookie canister is a reproduction from the late 80's, they were everywhere and several pieces to the set. I have the bread box, it looks a hundred years old. Good find!
I use the Independent ironstone for my everyday dishes. I found mine at an estate sale at a very good price. Have yet to find a beautiful tureen like your blue one though. Good haul. I thought your hair style today was very cute and did make your pretty blue eyes stand out. Years ago, I had a complete set of dishes like your floral platter. My mother-in-law gave them to me and I think they are at least 45 years old. Guess they could still be making that same pattern though.
All my mothers dishes were the same kind. She always set the prettiest table with just the solid white plates. Using different floral arrangements and table cloths and etc. Some of my fondest memories of her Sunday table scapes. She even used them at times during different holidays as well.Such a lucky find !
You got some great deals! I like the floral platter best. I have a platter on my table under a flower arrangement. I bet that platter would look beautiful under the flower arrangement on your coffee table. I like using platters as trays, they look so delicate and sweet. Have a blessed week! Arlene
I did notice that Amazon had some white porcelain ladles you can buy and use for your tureen. I have used some of my antique and vintage silver ladles and those work well too. Our thrift stores have been pretty bare lately.

The blue soup tourine looks like flow blue China and is very expensive in Antique stores! It’s really fabulous. I saw your cookie canister on eBay anywhere from $25-$80 dollars. You did good sweetie! This weekend I was able to go to the monthly Sacramento Antique fair and found a beautiful large ceramic charger plate encircled in large roses $10, and last week found a large gorgeous etched glass round Venetian mirror $15 incredible price they were just bringing it out in the cart! Love your thrifted items..I really like the platter..so cute for spring/summer..I havent found anything lately at our thrift stores/goodwills..we have 5 goodwills with 15-30 minutes from each..once we get into town, which takes 35-45 minutes to get there..my husband has alot of health issues and has to go in every 4 weeks for blood work, so we try to visit as many as we're up to when in town..lol..I've taken down valentine's day decor n started today putting out some spring n Easter decor..I'm ready for temps to stay in the upper 70's and it to be sunny..lol..thanks for taking us along on your thrifting adventures..have a great week.

He uses the dinner plates so he didn’t give me those, but I found 3 dinner plates at a thrift store for $9. I was so excited to find them although the price was high. My recent haul consisted of a medium print of a Tuscan Landscape,aSet of phalsgraph Garden Dish Set and a large collection of garden animals for my bookshelf. I had wanted these dishes for a couple of years; I am a horticulturist and love plants.

My husband bought me 2 crates of your Christmas tree plates..Cutherson from England... Used them for family on Christmas Eve? Seeing the plates bought back alot of great memories.. I haven't used them in a long time...Also had that green metal canister....it came with 3 other Canisters..flour..sugar and tea..they were different colors..Really enjoy your videos..

Great idea to switch out the plates on the wall with some that have flowers for spring. I can't wait to see the small lamp shade on the lamp and the new dishes in the hutch. I love that you put some blue dishes with them. The soup tureen is so pretty.
I just found a 1890s jam crock for $1 at a booth that was closing at our local antique mall. It had some ugly painted strawberries on it that I scrubbed off with a pot scrubber. It cleaned up so nice. On ebay they go for $20-30. I was super excited with my find!!!
Maranda, you found some great items. I love your dishes. I came across a large set similar to this a while back that was Pfaltzgraff Heritage but didn’t buy it. I regret that so much. I’m like you, I don’t have a lot of luck at Goodwill or any thrift store in my area in TN. I think I just need to go more often. Thanks for sharing your haul and how you styled them. The tureen is gorgeous and a great price too! I found a smaller one that has a very delicate red transfer print on it at a garage sale last summer for $5. A couple weeks ago, on a whim, I decided to go to my local GW and it was packed. I didn't realize it just happened to be 50% off day. I found a gorgeous periwinkle blue depression glass pedestal plate for $5. A smaller picnic basket for $4 along with a cartful of other items. I missed out on a lot of stuff though because I got there later. But I did enough damage as it was. Ha ha!

I was just talking to my friend this morning about going to the Goodwill! I have collected white pitchers and small saucers but I'm not sure if they are ironstone, I really hope they are most of them don't have any markings or if they do you can't really read what it is because they are so old lol. I cannot believe how well you've done with finding ironstone out and about! Those little lamp shades would go perfect with my two small milkglass lamps. I'm having a hard time finding shades for them! Your Christmas plates are so sweet. They look similar to the Spode ones which I have always wanted a set of! Great finds!
Maranda, you found some beautiful items 😍 Be careful washing the cookie tin. I found a great vintage Santa tin once, put it in hot soapy water to soak, came back and the paint drastically faded in the water. I guess it couldn’t take the water temperature. Tragic, it was from the 30s or 40s. I still feel horrible about it.
I just discovered a store in the next town over from where I live. It used to be a furniture store and has four floors full of vintage stuff. Pretty good prices too! I was in Heaven while there!

Yes thankful the prices at our local goodwills are still reasonable- when we go to Goodwill in bigger cities the prices are outrageous 😭

Canisters..flour..sugar and tea..they were different colors..Really enjoy your videos..

Great idea to switch out the plates on the wall with some that have flowers for spring. I can't wait to see the small lamp shade on the lamp and the new dishes in the hutch. I love that you put some blue dishes with them. The soup tureen is so pretty.

I just found a 1890s jam crock for $1 at a booth that was closing at our local antique mall. It had some ugly painted strawberries on it that I scrubbed off with a pot scrubber. It cleaned up so nice. On ebay they go for $20-30. I was super excited with my find!!!
Maranda, you found some great items. I love your dishes. I came across a large set similar to this a while back that was Pfaltzgraff Heritage but didn’t buy it. I regret that so much. I’m like you, I don’t have a lot of luck at Goodwill or any thrift store in my area in TN. I think I just need to go more often. Thanks for sharing your haul and how you styled them. The tureen is gorgeous and a great price too! I found a smaller one that has a very delicate red transfer print on it at a garage sale last summer for $5. A couple weeks ago, on a whim, I decided to go to my local GW and it was packed. I didn't realize it just happened to be 50% off day. I found a gorgeous periwinkle blue depression glass pedestal plate for $5. A smaller picnic basket for $4 along with a cartful of other items. I missed out on a lot of stuff though because I got there later. But I did enough damage as it was. Ha ha!

I was just talking to my friend this morning about going to the Goodwill! I have collected white pitchers and small saucers but I'm not sure if they are ironstone, I really hope they are most of them don't have any markings or if they do you can't really read what it is because they are so old lol. I cannot believe how well you've done with finding ironstone out and about! Those little lamp shades would go perfect with my two small milkglass lamps. I'm having a hard time finding shades for them! Your Christmas plates are so sweet. They look similar to the Spode ones which I have always wanted a set of! Great finds!

Be careful washing the cookie tin. I found a great vintage Santa tin once, put it in hot soapy water to soak, came back and the paint drastically faded in the water. I guess it couldn’t take the water temperature. Tragic, it was from the 30s or 40s. I still feel horrible about it.

I just discovered a store in the next town over from where I live. It used to be a furniture store and has four floors full of vintage stuff. Pretty good prices too! I was in Heaven while there!
