Derek Chauvin sounded broken and sorry for what he did to George Floyd to me. We should forgive him too. Especially if he has asked from God forgiveness than we too as Americans should forgive him. As long as they just punish the results of bad training, instead of actually aiming for the broken system itself, cops are going to continue making mistakes leading to deaths. They need much better training, and better funding. In my country, there are strict requirements and 3 years of police academy (including one year of supervised field training) required to become a police officer, and nothing like this ever happens
Police academies teach recruits to use force in accordance with State Attorney General guide lines. Excessive force is discouraged and deadly force is a last resort used only to prevent serious injury or death. Unfortunately some police officers use deadly force first not out of fear but out of anger.

yeah, 22,5 years is not enough for possibly causing the death of a man with a heart condition that's having a drug overdose wich may or may not have been the cause of death, while doing what was in the training manual, which they fortunatley replaced afterwards.
