I took NAM amp captures from the album so I put in Knight's DI from the record on the right side and I played live on the left, flew in some panning, delay, reverb for myself for the solo along with another DI from the record for the chords. Played over the drum/bass stems. But all of this is one live take that you are hearing and seeing.
I filmed a guitar lesson today breaking down all of the riffs, harmonies, solos, just gotta edit it up and then it will be up there on my Shred Light District Patreon for my dudes.
Thank you guys for carrying the flag of TBDM, I can't imagine the difficulty of doing so, but the new album is incredible and I can't wait to have it on repeat for a few years just like Verminous is/was and many albums prior.

Everyone one of them is sour. I guess that’s his style? I don’t like it and his vibrato specifically is why I can’t get into this band. Funny how that works.

Anyone else feel like the mix on the album is kinda funky? Not complaining because it still slaps, but I feel like the drums and vocals are so much louder than the guitars this time around!

Its a tie for me between this and Transcosmic Blueprint for my favorite song on Servitude. Killer riffs. Fantastic production. A triumphant return!

Hi Brandon, Ive played 40 years, and still theory clueless. If you could memorize one pattern/scale whole neck for metal what mode, type do you recommend play the most?
Have you checked out Brandon's shredlight district? He goes over a lot of that!
I second Shred Light District. He has great videos super in depth vids on scales phrasing everything you name it, its insanely great content.
memorize the minor scale, its actually has every scale hidden inside, e minor is the same thing as g major and A dorian and B phrygian. its all the same scale just different root notes
I love his playing and the bands music. I just think the guitars should be heard more in the mix. Because his rhythm, riffs and tone are phenomenal. The leads(which are stellar of course) soar!!! I just want the rhythm guitars to be heard more
If you listen to the album on something that is "reference" ie. flat sounding, it will make more sense

Do you work with Brian to write the riffs? They got the mold well. But I've noticed a lot of your own personality comes through in the solos. Those are uniquely yours
I do not, I just understand what the bands style is and how write my music compatibly

Man, I don't often say this about TBDM because the typical non-stop lyrical barrage is one of the things I like most about the band, but I like and appreciate this track more hearing it without the vocals. There're so many little subtle melodies happening here, and the chorus is insanely catchy. It really feels like a Miasma era track. Plus, the solo is very soulful and simple, no tapping or insane finger work or anything, just like a super clean, well-written and executed lead. Love it. You guys killed it on Servitude!

These play through videos have revealed a need in me to know the songs so well I don’t need to look at my hands. Brandon knows his part and what is required of him that he rarely looks at his hands! His short on the sunless empire solo. Didn’t look at his hands at all…
