Nike doesn't even make their best AG soleplate anymore. The best one they had was the one on the Tiempo 9's and the Vapor 14's. I wont buy another another AG pair of boots until Nike brings that soleplate back.
Thank you. Was waiting for this. Wish you had gone a bit more in depth on the AG version (2g/3g). As far as I can tell that is the surface most people play on, hence it should be reviewed the most but it always seems to be left out. Also it sucks they didn't keep the external heel counter, really affects the design. How does the boot feel to actually play? Does the extra weight feel like a hindrance at all?
I've got the 2G/3G as I played purely on poorly maintained 3G pitches. The traction is sufficient most of the time but I haven't tried in wet weather yet, the studs are not as short as the Puma MG.
Whilst the 4g ag version might seem similar to the FG versions there is a world of difference when actually using them I found when playing on 3g surfaces. With the FG I found there was way too much friction and my feet were always dragging. I tried the 4g version with the copa pure 2 and they were completely fine: No dragging, no noticeable stud pressure and very light and nimble. I also have the 2g/3g version and tbh I wish I could send them back. They're great for very wide feet, and there's no stud pressure at all, but they do feel bigger and clunkier. I think it depends on what type of ag your playing. I played on some good ag pitches were they merched rubber pellets with sand and the pitch was pretty deep. So you could play on it with an FG stud pattern so I did that and it felt good. But I also played on some other ag where it wasnt that deep and also had stud pressure at times and it didn’t feel that great so I bought an AG boot. So it depends. And the FG of adidas used to be fg/ag anyway. So I think you can use it on AG. Unless its an old/short AG pitch or turf
Just had to return my FG pair today, had them for 2/3 weeks and found a massive crack in the top half of my boots. Not sure how long its been there for but dissapointed since it was a good boot.
Also returning a pair where the upper tore near the left toe and one of the stripes began to peel off. Adidas said they cover the warranty but no chance on replacing it for the same color sadly.
Could you please make a comparison video between the top end tf shoes from Nike and Adidas? There is no one on youtube making such videos in english as if such kind of playing fields do not exist..
