Personally wore the AG version for 5 sessions on turf and crappy grass fields. Had no issues whatsoever, good traction, and knees felt good with no stud pressure. Would highly recommend them over the bladed studs if you are looking at the f50s.
How was the flexibility in the forefoot of the soleplate? Did it have an awkward flex point as Josh SR4U suggested that it would be? Was it more stiff? Another RUclipsr said that the AG plate is more flexible than the FG (opposite of what Josh SR4U said).
My biggest problem with Adidas is that they don't make more than one colorway for AG models, and their AG models are not that specialized compared to FG. Which tempts me a lot to use FG model to use the beautiful colorway models. Nike never gave me this problem since they make AG models for all models. I almost always play on AG so I used to get AG models for Nike, but with Adidas, it's been hard because all the colorways I want do not have the AG model.
If you play on both surfaces, it's automatically an AG that you need. Your knees are worth more than any BS you may hear on the net. My Left ACL could speak volumes about it....
If they were always planning on releasing this AG stud pattern, then why on earth would they not make the FG pattern more aggressive like a fully bladded setup??
@@rrao1128it’s not that he’s wrong, it just varies person to person. Maybe for the commenter, they’re perfect but for Josh they just dont fit well 🤷🏽♂️
Conical studs are the safest AG studs. Nike, Mizuno, Puma and New Balance use them. The F50 AG stud length don't look any longer than Nike or New Balance's AG studs.
There are another ag stud patern for the f50s and I think those are called the 2g/3g version. But they don't have great availability especially for the elite model.
So i asked you to review these last week before i copped ‘em. I actually bought them before the vid and i felt much less stud pressure with the AG than the FG, its possible my foot shape is weird but i did find more comfort in the AG. COP the AG lads.
Foot shape would definitely be a contributing factor in stud pressure. Like I said in the video, I wouldn’t say that stud pressure is a deal breaker issue here, but I can feel the studs underfoot more on the AG model compared to the FG.
@@themanmiles95 very solid pair of cleats and I have wide feet. As for the AG plate I personally don't feel any stud pressure I haven't tried the lightweight insoles tho.
I think the point is to send a test bed out to the consumer base for the soleplate with the circle studs getup. So probably more for adidas benefit than ours.
Hey bro long time watcher been paying attention to this channel since I was maybe 13? 2014 I got the pink hypervenoms and remember your vids hahah any chance you’d maybe give us some content about boots you’ve played with over the years and the standouts, I love admiring old boots haha
i’m definitely due for some new boots. Had ACL surgery 2 years ago but i feel great now and have basically only been using ag boots on turf and it’s been a life saver. Should I get these or wait for the new gen mercs to come out in july?
My F50's are going back. Not impressed with the way they feel on feet. Too stiff for my liking and just doesn't feel comfortable. Also I don't trust the AG plate. Studs are too long and too few. Don't want to try and break them in and risk not liking them later, especially at this price. Mizuno just launched a Blue colour Alpha so will be ordering that in AG. The Alpha FG version I tried was very comfortable and much better boot than these f50's in my opinion.
The ag misunl doesn’t feel very good on new genetarion ag pitches. Just to considers. You can pivot into the pitch and you don’t feel secure, is to much ag for saying in a word. The best ag is Nike.
Thank you so much for the review. Was waiting for this. To be honest, just looking at the soulplate you can tell that the studs are too long and there are too few. Also the stud pressure is a massive dealbreaker for me :(. How can a billion dollar company mess up so badly? My AG F50's are finally coming tomorrow but after seeing this review I might just return them
It’s definitely too few studs. Right now the only truly AG boots that I can think of are the AG Nike Academy models. The AG-Pro of their Elite models also have too few studs. I love my Vapor 14 Elite with AG soleplate. Along with the Superfly of the same generation and the Legend 9 were the last time Nike made a truly AG soleplate for their Elite models.
@@All_About_the_Benjamins The AG-pro on the GX model was fine to be honest. The studs were very short. I wasn't a fan of the upper which is why I returned them but I thought the soleplate was ok from memory. Not the best, but definitely better than Adidas's
2g/3g is the way to go. Also. Every single TF boot would be better it their sole plate was replaced by mundial team's sole plate. would be a market changer if they added lighstrike in the midsole. Adidas, I will take 15% because I made all the work.
Adidas has been really lazy with AG models. single colorways for all series, stud patterns that is far below other brands standards, and bad quality control with predator models...
It's stupid. They know how to many AG soleplates as they've done so in the past. Don't know why they are being so stubborn, the market must be there. They release every colourway of every model in pro, league, club and kids classes but AG version of elite models get no love at all.
Is turf with the pellets a usual thing? Im new to this ‘not natural’ grass field thing. I started playing again after 20 years in a different state, where theres turf but with pellets. I ended up buying ag boots for it but quickly found out turf shoes are a better option. Just curious.
Hey Josh had a question. I wear a size 8.5 or 9 depending on the cleats. For example I wear 8.5 with tiempos but 9 with mercurials. I want to get the new Phantom GX 2 and not sure what size to get. Any help would be appreciated
Typically black stains and general wear patterns that are consistent with playing on artificial grass. If they broke after a few wears, it would be tough to tell. But if they broke after a month or two of use, you would definitely be able to tell that they were worn on AG.
@Soccerreviewsforyou depends if you're are pro at keeping them clean 🤫. I managed to get my daughter some f50 mid elite in SG as a pro was selling them. Do you think interchanging the studs with the tpu ones would be safe for AG?
Nike Vapor 14 Elite AG, Nike Superfly 8 Elite AG, Nike Legend 9 Elite AG, Mizuno alpha Japan AG (although it sucks that they’re not built exactly like the FG model), and then any of the Nike Academy AG models.
If the FG pair breaks and you used them on AG, the warranty is void.. but if you use AG on FG, the warranty stays.. just to consider
how the fuck are they gonna know?
@@top5tings on good AG pitch it is hard to guess.. but sometimes gum bits leave marks, and studs wear out differently than on FG

Those studs are almost identical to the Magista FG soleplate
AG can be use for AG and FG..go for AG..save your knee and ankle and money😂
as someone who has had acl surgery the AG ones looks more appealing for FG and AG players

Meniscus victim here, AG for rainy days only and turf for all year around.

Jeff, surely the soleplate is much more similar to the Magista Obra/Opus 2... with the conical studs and the blades that form a circle
